  1. JUH is a bit of a Fritsch clone although skills are different. Assuming you have Petty and a resting ruckman plus JVR we get a little tall. It's a tough one Lose Petty at season's end everything should be on the table
  2. It seems that few FTA games are in 4k. If this is right the whole Kayo in 4k thing is a bit of a con
  3. Here's a link to the games in 4k for the first five rounds https://help.kayosports.com.au/s/article/Which-AFL-games-are-in-4K#one Looks like 5 games a week Our games for Round 1 and 2 are in 4k Not sure what is the criteria for selection as a 4k game but Friday night games seem to be rarely 4k Strangely Collingwood only has one 4k coverage in the first 5 rounds
  4. No when given the picks were both expected to be around 14. Luck made the second year pick higher He was a pick 3 21 year old with proven high level skills. His $1M salary put him in the top 20-40 salary wise in the league Not saying we could have done better but we got nowhere near his future worth Jefferson in 2022 for example shows that pick 14/15 doesn't equal Jackson
  5. A "football incident" and of course Cox was trying to protect the GWS staff from a wayward football.
  6. Lot of love for Fullarton Beauty is by comparison but I do wonder how he will fare at AFL level 19 games in five years for Brisbane (12 were in 2021) Good luck to the guy. How was he at Brisbane VFL level?
  7. Agree We should be rotating the fringe players through various positions at VFL level. Midfield is amazingly bare and same with smaller backmen. We seem to have a surplus of NQR HFF's
  8. Do clubs really trade fair value We got nowhere approaching LJ's worth and if Petty goes we might get a high second round. Don't know much about Holmes... what is he worth (both pick and salary)
  9. I suppose 4 weeks is better than 4-6
  10. Yes he played . Got 2 goals but I didn't see any comments on his "movement"
  11. Thanks Kev Perhaps they are trying light training mixed with match days (one can only hope) IIRC Buddy didn't attend match training for his last few years
  12. A half fit Petty is probably better than the next choice I think they'll use BBB as the sacrifice forward if he's half fit
  13. Ben King of the Suns was probably the one that got away from a lot of clubs. JUH will have a tough decision this year but he's not exactly a power forward. How North keeps its players I'll never understand
  14. High goal accuracy level by Casey. If there is anything in the May niggle TMac may get an AFL game sooner than we think
  15. Just checked the score on landing Deja vu
  16. Hard to take a measure of the combined team. Lots of cusp players but we shall see what the morrow brings
  17. On a loosely related topic if you've ever wondered how many people overseas watch AFL the NRL broke all records with their recent game in Las Vegas..... Wait for it........ Yes the TV viewing audience in the States was 61k Why do we bother NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said the numbers set a new audience record for NRL games in the US, and were similar to some Major League Soccer games on Fox Sports 1. “These are positive signs in the first year of the long term venture,” he said. “We are proud of what we achieved this year in Las Vegas and have been blown away by how positively Americans have responded to rugby league.” https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/mar/06/nrl-in-las-vegas-tv-ratings-rugby-league-2024
  18. At it's simplest you will have access to much faster speeds. BUT the utility of such speed is dependent upon web content providers building networks that avail themselves of the available speed In the long term it's a good thing
  19. First VFL match is 3 weeks away. What do we do with TMac Spargo and BBB in the meantime There's often a VFL pre season match that might help McAdam could be our new 4-6
  20. Big news on the NBN front Those on 100Mb plans should have their speed upgraded to 500down /50up free of charge. No mention of what those on 50/25 plans get. Will it make a difference... probably not in the short term but it makes 8k a possibility Broadband speeds are set to skyrocket for about 9 million Australians, with NBN Co proposing to make its most popular plan five times faster at no extra cost as demand for data explodes. In a move the company says is to meet unprecedented usage of high-definition streaming and remote work, NBN Co announced plans to raise its 100/20 Mbps Home Fast product to 500/50 Mbps, and triple its Home Superfast product from 250/25 Mbps to 750/50 Mbps. https://www.theage.com.au/technology/nbn-to-become-five-times-faster-at-no-extra-cost-20240305-p5f9vh.html Overseas I have 500 up and down. I don't notice any difference from my 100/40 plan in Australia. Web pages open at same speeds etc. Video at same quality. Anyway it may be the future, Singapore has plans to roll out 10Gb plus speed by 2026
  21. Not sure I agree with the criteria They missed the two ovals and the indoor high performance training centre. Richmond has a pocket handkerchief facility by comparison to Essendon
  22. There are some suggestions that Kayo has downgraded its HD package to 720p. (was at 1080p) If this is right one is left with little choice but to pay the extra for 4k (may just be a bug so give it a few days and in the meantime check your diagnostics) As an aside 4k also delivers 5.1 sound. Great on F1 not sure if much difference for AFL PS: Kayo have now said that the 720p issue is a bug and they are working on it
  23. 35 and strong northerly winds... wonder what it has to be to call it off
  24. Giving the "keys" to an official website/twitter feed is a hard ask these days. That said no reason that independent social media "gurus" can't be given access and post on their own outlets.
