Farewell Jesse Hogan
I'm not saying trade Hogan because of any problem with his form. In fact I think he has the ability to deliver us a premiership playing at CHF. What I am saying is that we may have a chance of covering Hogan with Weideman, Mc Donald etc while adding significantly to our list through the draft or by trade. Cannot think of another player on our list that we could cover for who has decent trade value. Time to get smart as a football club. We have a decent list and the club would be wanting if the analysis was not done.

I'm going to Perth ... Am I crazy?
Make sure you sit at the Vardy end ? Enjoy ...

Farewell Jesse Hogan
why.... we need to talk about how we win a premiership so all things should be able to be discussed.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
so would I but no one is going to offer it unless you want to take it over three years. BTW I would want two first rounders in the first 8 before I would think about it.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
worth a discussion if you think we can cover his goal scoring ability with Weideman and improved mid field kicking. So what do we get in his place. Two first round picks ... I like the idea but we all know it's a lottery. We also save a lot of money that allows us to go after Gaff. Assuming you go for a trade or an ontrade of the two picks who do you trade for. I'm neutral but I would be disappointed if the list committee wasn't doing the SWOT analysis. You have to look at where we have trade currency and Hogan is where it's at.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 21
Hunt was a strange selection and Pederson is probably too slow to play down back at AFL level. It was our bad kicking that cost us the game but the questionable selections didn't help. We won the hitouts decisively but only broke even in clearances which also didn't help. A very disappointing day and almost the end of what has been a very underwhelming season. This was on paper the easiest of the three games so I hold out little hope for the next few weeks. Perhaps they will surprise us all.

GAMEDAY - Round 21
I come and go from Asia and have a local cable subscription over here. May have to succumb next year. and pay for a watchafl account as well. Would be good if they could up the quality of the transmission of the AFL on the Australia Channel as well. The EPL etc is crystal clear but the AFL is far from that. Do you happen to know what the quality of the watchafl product is like on a 70 inch screen

I have always liked his style of play.... that could be his last game.. the end of a family dynasty. Grandma Shaw was a very lovely lady.

Round 21 Non MFC Games
agree... when I first started watching I assumed it was at the Sydney showgrounds and I thought .. wow that is the biggest home and away crowd I have ever seen for the Giants. Took me a while to realise it was Manuka. The Canberra market will probably save the Giants and I expect is responsible for half their members. As the great man once said.... "And well may he say God save the Giants because nothing will save the Gold Coast Suns !"

Casey Demons v Sandringham - Round 19
jkh is playing Viney's role so I am not sure those two are vying with him for the same spot. I assume Bugg played as an inside mid today for Casey.

okay ...now off to the conundrum that is Port v WCE.

Round 21 Non MFC Games
slow delivery into the forward line... stopping and going backwards etc etc... you can say they were playing conservatively but they certainly did not have the risk pedal down
-
Round 21 Non MFC Games
from around half way through the last quarter Hawks looked like they were playing to save the game

Round 21 Non MFC Games
Hawthorn up again..fighting for a top 4 spot. Thought they were supposed to be on their way down last year but alas their sense of entitlement continues. As you can see my jealousy runs deep.

$1.9 million on offer from North...okay one more year to earn it. Hard to ignore. Remember it's guaranteed irrespective of form and injury. The unknown is the next TV deal. The last two have delivered big pay rises all round. Hard to crystal ball the next one except that the internet rights may go for a lot more if Foxtel blinks.

An interesting segway from the alternative world of bananas: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/aug/02/evil-monkeys-will-itv2s-bananas-new-show-be-the-next-love-island A show about simians studying humans..... "This morbidly gormless trio are being teased and taunted for our amusement. And finally, it works as simple slapstick – seeing a blindfolded man having bananas thrown at his head by someone in a monkey outfit is just funny. "

Not Another Blockbuster
Believe it or not Carlton played someone (forget who) on 31/12/1999. The prelude to the new millennium. Not many turned up but IIRC it was Fev's first real outing. Just goes to show that the AFL will try anything ?
