ok... I'll bite what were the handball to kick ratios of the various players
-
yeah.. I used to get excited too... ruck dominance ain't what it used to be unless the player dominates around the ground. Mids have grown up playing to the tap whether it be their's or the other teams
-
not really captaincy has not impacted well on several players at the MFC over the last ten plus years
-
different times... fifty years ago..... given that we now have ten odd coaches ... what does the captain do ???
-
yep... the vaunted midfield is not playing well. Perhaps ban Oliver from hand balling for an occasional quarter or two
-
yep.. no need for any pressure... btw why does one need a captain.... seriously

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Diamond_Jim replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think I've found our new social club site.... https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/poor-man-s-racehorses-iconic-yarraville-pigeon-clubhouse-to-be-sold-20190609-p51w0b.html When John Saggers was a boy in the 1960s, pigeons were the "poor man's racehorse". It seemed to him that every second household in the Yarraville area kept them, and fathers taught their sons how to race them. There were no computers, and some houses didn’t even have TV, so people spent time outside, be it tending chooks or shooting rabbits. So he is sad to announce that the club's modest but local landmark hall of 96 years, in Regent Street, will be sold. At its peak in 1950, the club had more than 60 members. It now has just eight. Its expenses, including rates and insurance, are about $3000 a year compared to an income of $1000. We are disappointed but we can no longer afford to keep it,’’ Mr Saggers said. ‘‘It means an era closes.’’ -
Good post Macca but the AFL need to take the public along with it. They should make it clear what will and won't be accepted ...implement a warning period which could include publicising (without names) the types of behavior they deemed inappropriate and then move to ejection. The AFL practice will inevitably flow down to the lower leagues. There is also the question of whether remarks deemed inappropriate against umpires should also be regarded as inappropriate if made against a player or a team. Perhaps we need a committee that could appoint a taskforce and then move onto a summit followed by a plebiscite.

Pies by 30 plus unless they kick inaccurately and we do the reverse.

GB may have his Brownlow invite cancelled not to mention his lifetime Disney pass

Not the most impressive start from the Matildas.... was looking forward to a little dynamite and it was a quiet fizzer. Early days and let's hope they can find form... reminded me of the MFC game plan not to mention Ange's... push forward and bugger the counter attack.

the famous case is about catching the ferry from Circular Quay. There's another one about a spectator that enters a tourist mine and then wants to turn around without paying.... (They're the false imprisonment cases) For this one we have the "ticket cases" perhaps of which there are many... Is not calling the umpire a %^&&^ a condition of entry and has it been made clear before entry. Finally we have the issue of whether he was restrained or was it volountary.... I sense a new question on the law exams at our local Unis ?

A lovely day at Casey beginning with a hot egg and bacon roll after joining a very long gate queue filled with Magpie supporters. Very little red and blue by comparison to the ubiquitous jail stripes. Luckily the score board kept the Pies supporters very quiet. A stiff breeze across the ground made precision football difficult. I think Casey could have won by 100 points without the wind such was the dominance. I'm afraid the numbers stumped me from a player reporting viewpoint but I was impressed with KK's first half. Definitely something there. Preuss marked and rucked strongly and could perhaps have had a couple more goals. Hard to judge the result as the Pies were in the main woeful... which was of course pleasant in itself. Looking forward to the next day out with Casey.. but hell it was getting cold at the end !!
-
Brrrrrrr Getting cold here as the sun goes down. A goal to the demons to warm the heart
-
In the quarter time address the key word on the board was space. There certainly was a lot of it in our forward line at times Like the physical make up of kk. Nice size and build
-
Very strong breeze across the ground favouring the end Casey are kicking to this quarter. Pies have picked up their game
-
At least Casey should make a few dollars
-
Crowd wise like a Collingwood home game Very uncomfortable on the Berwick hill where there is generally only around twenty people
-
Hi can someone explain what's happening with the Casey numbers? Are the numbers listed in the OP those that will be worn tomorrow? Many thanks
-
The Age is reporting that the ejected patron claimed that he called the umpire "a bald headed [censored]" PS : How is the alternative word for whip... censored... obviously I live a sheltered life clue.. it is the verb for a flogging
-
Looking forward to sitting on the Berwick Hill tomorrow and enjoying a bacon and egg roll (provided they are not sold out pre game like last time!!). Is Bradtke really playing ??
-
My pick is Stretch as the hold over emergency so the Casey team will be a good one. Pity that Omac is not there.
-
Must have missed it.
-
the stadium the AFL purchased for negative equity ??
