  1. Click on the settings wheel and drop the resolution to 540p Still very watchable but the stream should be steadier
  2. A lovely looking ground. Is that their training facility. Wonder if they hit the BMX jumps after training
  3. I wonder why. Can understand the Telstra control over streaming rights but that applies to the AFL comp. You can't even download the AFL app onto an Nvidia Shield. Good to have the VFL televised but being tied to a laptop/phone is a pain
  4. Looking at it with my red and blue shaded glasses Bulldogs (simply to keep them in the hunt so they can do damage) West Coast (LJ) Freo (positions 1 and 2 are much the same and this will take the Blues out of the hunt for those spots) Geelong v Tigers (draw please) Saints North ( but Crows will win) GWS ( who could barrack for the Pies unless you had to) Port v Suns (neutral) Assuming we keep our winning mojo it will be interesting to see which Victorian team snatches fourth
  5. Strange fixture I wonder why we are not playing the Lions somewhere Next week we play Port at Casey (no Burra burgers this year)
  6. mmmm well if loading caused the Collingwood loss we may need to rethink the process. There's a balance and we missed it Why would you load the whole team at once for example I can understand tapering etc but why would you load against Freo and Sydney. Had we won those 3 we could now load and manage to our hearts desire
  7. Time to play smart and think of this as two games. Adelaide and Geelong Rest Petracca perhaps. Bowey? I do think we wasted an opportunity with the North and Eagles game to strategically manage players
  8. Dare I say We've got this!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Some quarter but can we go again in the third
  10. We appear to be interchanging Jackson and Weid on the bench rather than one resting forward. Perhaps we will see a change
  11. Well they had to kick straight eventually
  12. The second ruck always starts the first 6 odd minutes on the bench Standard this season at least
  13. Was looking at the national TV ratings for AFL. Thursday night almost equal to Friday night at just over 900k. On Saturday night ratings drop to mid 600k. You can see why we have Thursday night games
  14. 2021 figures not released yet but in 2020 of the total variable distribution of $43M we got around $3M and Brisbane got $5M. All clubs got the base distribution of around $10M. All save 4 or 5 got a decent top up by way of variable distribution. We got roughly the same as Carlton, North and the Bulldogs. If we are at base distribution level for 2021 I'd be surprised and it would be a first for a very long time.
  15. I hope that the inclusion of Bedford allows Pickett to play closer to goal. We need some movement in that forward line
  16. Brisbane like us rely heavily on the AFL for financial support. I wonder how they could afford a decent training facility. Is it in the same league as Essendon, West Coast, Hawthorn (if completed) etc
  17. LJ's relative drop in form is not great for us from the contract renewal aspect. At year's opening the pitch would have been ... sign on at MFC for 2 or 3 years at a very good salary...enjoy your success and possibly some more premierships... then cross to another club on a mega deal and go from there. Now Luke might be quietly wondering...Will the mega deal still be there in 3 years? Getting it wrong might cost him around $7M so I sympathise with his uncertainty.
  18. $10 M over seven years is possible if you think the salary cap will almost double in that period. One hell of a risk though
  19. In reality the only advantage they get is not playing 3-4 games interstate. Perhaps you make it 2 games outside Victoria and Tasmania and then it becomes very close to a "normal" Victorian team. Playing at Docklands is not a great advantage.
  20. If Daw is fit he has to come in just to do the simple bounce grunt. On ground time will be say 70%. The M Brown experiment has not worked. Hunt was a good forward in 2019 (?) so that's a possibility. Otherwise it's Weideman. Cannot see enough fire power in Chandler or Bedford Replacing Sparrow with Dunstan is a possibility but it doesn't excite me. Down back I'll leave the Rivers/Bowey discussion to the selectors
  21. Not Quite Like most players he's waiting for the new salary caps It's always been that way
  22. Would be surprised if Goodwin's contract did not have an upward review clause dealing with a relaxation of the soft cap. Money wise $500k doesn't buy too many full timers. My guess is at least half will go into player welfare
