  1. Anyone drafting Weideman would have to think he's off to scumbagland the first chance he gets - look elsewhere would be my advice
  2. Nothing whatsoever to do with relationships it has everything to do with $$$$ - $400k a year is a lot of coin to a guy plucked from some obscure Tasmanian village and given a break by MFC - bottom line is our FD did not rate him that much so we move on and try and extract the best possible trade to advance our cause - I for one do not think he is the sort of character that I would rely upon to stand up in finals when the heat is really on - Brayshaw, Hogan, Viney, Petracca, Vince, Jones, YES Howe not sure !
  3. I'm still banging my head over Scully, Trengove, Watts, Sylvia, Strauss, McLean, Blease ........... and the list goes on. Early picks have delivered very little over the years
  4. I thought he was clinically depressed and left the AFL because of the pressure he felt to perform. At least that was the reason quoted at the time. MFC had shown enormous faith and trust in him, he was paid handsomely (presumably) for limited return, he was handed a #11 jumper proudly by one of the most respected and admired people in the community and given support to recover from his illness. It is inconceivable that anyone who was genuinely depressed would want to go down the path that is now being suggested. Walking away from the MFC (unless they just don't want him there) for money or finals glory would generate so much additional pressure for him. I think that would be a mistake of epic proportions.
  5. Hilarious, depressing and typical. Round 3 and the supporters of the MFC have to resort to talking about potential draft picks OMG its so so tragic - every time any semblance of hope emerges for this club it is sucked away in an instant
  6. Last time I checked our best was a long way off winning much at all so the thought of "choosing" to go for wins or not is in my mind laughable even with a changed line up Let's see our guys actually show something vaguely resembling AFL standard football before we contemplate pre season strategy of resting players etc
  7. Hope you are right and everyone else has no idea I must admit seeing the few clips when he was recruited reminds me a lot of Jordie McKenzie - no match winner IMO
  8. I guess if you're really that great James you will get another chance on someone else's list. Personally I think you did all you could and got the most out of yourself which all supporters should applaud you for. But at the end of the day the decision makers wanted to move you on - it happens to a great nymber of players each year unfortunately. Pointing the finger and being critical of the group who gifted you the chance in AFL is not really the best move right now
  9. Pretty scary when you think about how much he and Dawes get paid and really they are just an added cost with medical expenses - seen little return on these investments at this stage. I have serious doubts about his ability to get himself right long term and contribute consistently
  10. And doing a cracking job too - our better players never seem to get themselves on the park for the most part, others seem to struggle to run faster than Joe Blow in the crowd - hmmm just bad luck ? I have no idea but I'm a tad over it
  11. Hilarious - even the dog looks away as he knows whats coming
  12. If you think a "rabbit in the spotlight" is awesome
  13. Steven Armstrong says hi ! Not impossible he could find himself deep into Sept 2013
  14. I find all of this quite hilarious - Dean Bailey not coaching to he full potential ?? Oh please this is the same coach and the same bunch of hapless water buffalo that went down the highway and got belted by 186 points - FFS give me a break . Lets just not focus on two games lets look at how many Victorian based teams this team has beaten in the past 3 seasons - it's totally embarrassing. How anyone could conclude that the MFC was capable of winning anything based on a sustained period of underperformance is completely beyond me.
  15. Sorry to ask the bleeding obvious but are you sure it was actually him? How do you know? was he wearing a name tag? We have another poster saying he was at training and was underwhelmed by his size - I'm confused ?
  16. If the AFL wish to impose sanctions on the MFC it will have to go to court - get real - how carp was the team for the last 3 years ? I mean really have we been tanking every single year for at least the last 4 years - NO we have just been rubbish pure and simple. I could see some sort of validity in this allegation if we had played finals since but FFS they have been carp since and in all likelihood will be bottom 4or5 next year too Get real AFL, get real Caro, get on with life people
  17. Wow can't wait to see Jake move like that this year !
  18. The next Buddy? I was surprised just how similar they look - interesting to see where he goes in the draft - speculative but seems to have a lot of upside.
  19. I read the quote below from Mark Neeld and I just wonder why Cook was selected as an emergency against Richmond in Rd 15 if clearly he is "not ready to go". Not trying to be critical but it does seem an odd statement now. Perhaps there was simply nobody left worthy of even being named emergency that round due to injuries ? “We think that Lucas is going reasonably well at VFL level, but he hasn’t played yet enough footy to really warrant AFL selection. It’s not the correct thing to do by Lucas to put him into the side just yet, because he’s not ready to go.”
