  1. You sure it's not sea-sickness Ernie?
  2. The final point is the one that matters, Sue. The Federal Court had no problem with the evidence gathering and sharing processes, which Hird etc attempted to construe as a joint investigation. It stands to reason that the AFL investigators have developed a full knowledge of the case against the 34, whether they were responsible for compiling and presenting it to the tribunal or not. If Gill is ultimately responsible for the actions of his investigation unit then he's entitled to see what they've done (interfering while they were doing it would be a different matter but there's no suggestion of that). I think Ouch is right that the real problem here is Gill's adding to the media speculation. He should just shut up until Old Dee's countdown is finished.
  3. Did you hit the wrong button? There's a thread on this on the Demons page so I'll shut this one down.
  4. That would be Warwick Hadfield I assume. He's so far into Essendon's pocket that he couldn't see anything for the lint.
  5. You're right Bing. As if there aren't threads enough to express these sentiments.
  6. They don't sleep WYL, they're too busy seeking out the truth on our behalf.
  7. Given that nothing new or interesting is emerging from this, I'm acting on a request from one poster and the views of several given already, and provisionally closing it. It's going nowhere, and there's a thread for stuff about Essendon and drugs, and Jack has already given an opinion on the accuracy or otherwise of the title. If the other mods think there's anything to be gained from re-opening it no doubt one or other of them will do so.
  8. I suppose that years of bitter experience and deep despair would help make a demon frog more resistant but I'm not sure. Ninth belongs to tigers, of course, not snakes. But a tiger snake might be eligible.
  9. Good pick up. How many hands has this slipped through already? Edit: fixed
  10. Cruel but true I suspect.
  11. Not a good situation for a frog of any species.
  12. I think you mean 'allegedly'. In any case, nothing to do with banned substances. If you're going to perpetuate this stuff you'll need a bit more than the self-justifying fantasies of Dr Reid. You haven't addressed the major fly in the ointment of your 'case' against the AFL, viz. ASADA. What part did they play in this imaginary cover-up?
  13. I was tempted to close it late last night (early this morning) and stupidly didn't. Now that it has legs (even if they don't really reach the ground) I suppose it should stay open for a while to see what happens.
  14. At the risk of doing no more than contributing to a chain of really appalling puns*, which is already sputtering into life here: is this 'news' no more than part of the smokescreen being blown up to help Essendon to slip unnoticed into the night? * or c.r.a.p. (a Demonland trade mark)
  15. You forget that investigations relating to use of PEDs and banned substances happen to be conducted by ASADA, not the AFL. It's nothing like the tanking situation. In the case of the MFC and one player, Trengove, Dank's involvement concerned the use of a substance admittedly used at Essendon and not pursued by ASADA. Reid's attempting (in whatever forum) to spread insinuations about any other club, about anyone else, is the height of hypocrisy. As I've already said, we know all this.
  16. The difference with Cherry-Evans (and he's hardly the first big star to do this, it probably applies to all League players with aspirations) is that he has state of origin and national representation to play for. He won't be discovering a 'mystery illness' or anything else to keep him on the sidelines or to explain a decline in 'form'. The early notice of signings doesn't seem to have been particularly welcome in the NRL but they've been able to live with it. The Manly supporters I know have just grumbled a bit at the fact Cherry-Evans won't be around after this year, but they expect him to do his job to the best of his not inconsiderable abilities for the rest of the season. But for the same reasons you point towards.I can't see this sort of compromise position translating to AFL.
  17. We know this stuff already. We know it was looked at. We know there was nothing in it. We also know that Reid is a ^!$&0#*$
  18. Are you trying to start one of those flame war things? If so, I'll happily oblige. In the meantime, congratulations Christian. This is what hope feels like.
  19. I think you're right. But as someone who lived for decades with one televised game a week on Channel 7 (usually involving Carlton) I'm a lot happier with the current situation, leaving the GWS vanity project aside. I wonder what the competition would look like now, especially in terms of sponsorship, if things had stayed the same.
  20. Never mind the detail, it was a good one-liner anyway.
  21. Have you just told us what we should feel about being told what we should do or think? And where's your full-stop?
  22. Maybe not entirely since this thread involves a very different issue. But it was a pretty bizarre reaction.
  23. But this surely is EFC's 'intellectual property' which these blow-ins could pass on to anyone else.
  24. No need for any of this. There's a banana plantation just over the rise from where I live. If someone can organise the black van we should be able to guarantee supply just by leaping over the fence. There might be a small problem with the brown snakes and death adders, but if you bring BBO with you he should be able to scare them off.
  25. Who needs to slaughter animals anyway when spatilomancy is so much easier and more accurate? This page should be helpful in working out the best method for predicting what's going to happen this season: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methods_of_divination Some of those methods are much more fun than listening to experts.
