Delistings 2024
His current rookie contract includes a promotion to the senior list at the end of this year. But he will be OOC at end of 2025 so am desperately hoping it is extended at the time of the promotion.

Former MFC President Joe Gutnick calls to make club-shaking moves
Green probably accepted as a courtesy given Gutnik was President in the early part of Green's career. Green seems a lovely bloke but not very 'street wise' particularly in the business world. A bit naive perhaps. It was fairly low for an ex-President to blab to the media and I have no idea why he would give Robbo a complete rundown of his own ideas. Lots of people will come knocking on Green's door. He would do well to heed these lessons. beware the Trojan Horse keep your friends close but enemies closer

It is a joint promotion. On the left showing the mfc logo and sponsorship at the bottom is the version emailed to members. The version on the right doesn't show the logos as it is on the club's website. As I mentioned sponsors often use players in their promos.

How you feel is fine. But when folks ridicule a product or ad simply because it has Trac's name, they are ridiculing him, the club and its sponsor. The club often allows sponsors to send promotional emails eg New Balance.

Do folks realise The Sporting Globe is a club sponsor and it is their ad? Not sure why folks are complaining as it also promotes the club and God knows we can do with positive promos right now. The only person to comment that gets the benefits of the promo is @Bitter but optimistic

I wonder if the AFLPA review is what did/didn't happen in the 2nd qtr. Tracc went back onto the ground at approx the 8-10 min mark. iirc he was left on till half time approx 20 min without an interchange. That seems a long stint even if no injury had occurred. We will never know what additional damage/risk occurred during that 20 min. The AFLPA would rightly ask questions of doctors/sports science/coach why he had no interchange and no injury/welfare check during that time. If the doctors (mfc and afl) left it up to Trac to come off that is a lack of care. He was in no condition to make that decision. A duty of care suggests they should have brought him to the bench at regular intervals. Gawn didn't help by telling Trac to 'toughen the **** up' when Trac struggled. Maxi's own words. In the post match press conf Goodwin said Trac was given pain relief. iirc the AFL review concluded the process mfc/afl doctors followed was 'adequate'. I wonder if the process is written? Either way I suspect the process is moot on letting a player continue and is left up to medical discretion. Only guessing but I doubt it allows for player discretion. Even if it does doctors can't abdicate that responsibility. The simple question is did the doctors do everything they could to safeguard his well being in those early stages? An interesting task for the AFLPA.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Not necessarily. A Board role is to consider, amend, sign-off key matters of every department. The CEO is the primary conduit for those matters. So how he performs and his interaction with the Board should be reviewed. Performance examples reported to the Board are membership, sponsorship, strategic plan, governance, financial results, player contracts, football department etc etc. I would be quite concerned if a Board performance review didn't cover the interaction with the CEO. It doesn't mean Pert's position is in jeopardy but he doesn't get a free pass.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I think we are saying the same thing about level of CEO involvement... 🤔 Even if Pert is the type of CEO to control the findings and recommendations an experienced consultant will know how to deal with that without jeopardisng the outcomes.
-
Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Its fine for Pert to be the internal lead. It doesn't mean he will participate in all the interviews and assessments especially if his own role is included. Nor that he will have an input into the findings or recommendations at least not any part that involves him. He may be given a draft report to review but that is usually fact checking rather than influencing the outcomes.

And look at the age profile then size it up against age group spending patterns. That won't bode well for mfc. A lot more marketing $ goes into social media platforms than ever before.

Surely, there is an opportunity for the club to leverage that. Add to those figures the number of times something is shared and the numbers 'contacted' grow exponentially. I'm not a follower. Does anyone know if any of those mediums display the dees logo/colours I bet if he played for GWS their comms would cash in on that level of following.

I reckon he has the most personality of our youngsters. Reckon he would love it. Seems well grounded so it is unlikely to got to his head. A small step to go from Kolt into a media Cult. Someone should suggest it to our comms and if they doubt show them the wizard hats, Jones cap and Blues Bros stuff ... all a bit silly but fun(ny) ...
-
Christian Petracca
Maybe we can sell versions of Kolt's fabulous sun glasses !!! Not only is he young and a bit flamboyant he is also a feisty character which endears him to foot fans and non-fans. Is that cool or is that cool. Even has attitude! I'd wear those sunnies (inside the ground only 🙃)

You seem more qualified than those at mfc!

Join the mfc Comms dept...!
-
Christian Petracca
At the risk of taking this thread way off beam ... the Comms department has three main functions; Communicating with existing members Promoting to new members/demographics Manage our image and the narrative our spokespeople create/don't respond to. Find some friends in the media - yes a bit tongue in cheek but ... It is ok on the first but terrible on the others.

Christian Petracca
I use social media only to stay in touch with people in far flung places, mainly those overseas, as prefer more old fashioned means of interacting. IG promotional tools etc are not meant for the likes of us and we aren't or shouldn't be mfc's target market. We are never going to leave and as you say aren't really interested in fluff pieces.

Other clubs are cashing in on their young cult heroes. GWS have commercialised Jones' helmet /the-kid-with-the-lids-rapid-rise-to-cult-hero-status "They don't sell them just yet, but the GIANTS might have to start stocking the signature helmets in the shop at the VAILO Community Centre, given the seismic impact Darcy Jones has had..." The Wizard hats for Watson. The 'Blues Bros' accessories for the team. What mfc puts out is maninly ho hum videos of latest player news in an interview format. Boring, Boring, Boring. As @binman said mfc comms is asleep at the wheel and is so far behind the times on how to make the most of technology and promote our heroes, especially the young ones to appeal to a younger demographic. Maybe we should promote the 'Mouse Pack' but under a different name as 'mouse' sounds weak...

It is a serious issue. I'm guessing going out in straight last Sept and our string of losses this year didn't help. Similar to our membership numbers. Nor would our membership demographics. It would be interesting to know the overall figures and if the table is only the additional or is net +/-. Will be disappointed if the Comms department is not a serious part of the organisational review. imv it is failing at many levels. As an side wondering how mfc's 'instagram performance' is related to the CP thread rather than the review thread... @Demonland do we know the end date? Is there more info available about the composition of the table.

You are right. Petracca acted poorly and there is nothing wrong with calling him out for it. But much of it has been OTT and tbh quite undignified. The latter comment doesn't apply to you; your comments on any topic are quite fair. As an aside, I laughed at Pert's 'best culture he had seen in 40 years'. I'm sure he believed it but how would he know; his only experience was an extinct Fitzroy and Collingwood. Hardly best practice yardsticks.

I think you should rescind the accusation of slander.
