  1. I would be surprised if either GWS or Syd pick up a $1.0m+ tab and give Rich some high draft picks. Suspect it will be one or the other or watering down of both. Hardwick is so transparent. I don't doubt his sincerity in supporting Dusty's move but it is a clear ploy to max a trade. .
  2. If it was a recording I would FF 🙃
  3. Now via Ticketmaster. https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/25005C9AC5993106
  4. I detect a fair amount of nonchalance among dee fans. Not hubris and not taking this era for granted. Well, maybe not even nonchalance; may impatience. LIke: can we hurry up and get to September! 🙄
  5. Tassie don't want them.
  6. Essentially yes. Plus the possibility of sal cap space created from retirements and trades that year.
  7. I believe it is 95%. If a club underpays the sal cap by that 5% they can 'bank' two years worth. They can then pay over 100% eg 105% for two years or 110% for one year. eg if the cap is $13m and they spend 95% they bank $650,000. Over two years that is $1.3m 'banked'.
  8. Such info is closely guarded by all clubs. What we do know is that all clubs have the same cap, they can spend +/- x% and bank the difference for future years. And there are lots of techniques to move money around if the cap gets tight or there are spare funds in any year. Apropos this, Carlton are said to have plenty of cap capacity even tho they have signed players on mega $ in recent years, apparently by banking the cap in low spend years. MFC are showing they are very proficient in keeping players and staying within the cap. Happy to have them keep up the good work as I have no want to know cap details.
  9. The chart doesn't show that Hunt is a premiership player. It does show HIbberd to be one. My comment: "I so wish Hunt gets another contract or if not goes as a Premiership player" was reference to my hope that he plays in a premiership, THIS YEAR!
  10. Some rather ghoulish antipathy on this thread. Its a far cry from their tone on bf re the game, excluding a few BB haters. I'm happy to play nice with North fans; definitely not the worst, as long as we win by a big margin. Dees by 8-10 goals.
  11. On OTC this week Garry Lyon said Melbourne rate them as the hardest team we have played so far. It will be interesting to see if GCS can make a run for finals. They have winnable games: 2 X North 2 X Hawks 1 X Crows 1 X Ess 1 X Eagles Slightly more challenging: 1 X Bulldogs 1 X Port 1 X Pies Unlikely wins: 1 X Cats 1 X Rich 1 X Lions Such a shame King isn't playing. Would like to see them make the 8. They seem a decent lot without the arrogance of their franchise sibling.
  12. Love Charlie. Such a cool cat! Rapt that he has re-signed. Signed up to his FA year. By then he could have a few more premiership medals!! As an aside, by the middle of this decade we will have a few players with (hopefully multiple) premiership medals reach FA status in their mid twenties and will be in high demand. I guess that is there time to aim for bigger $ contracts. In the meantime I love that they are signing up and taking a lead from Goodwin, Gawn etc and settling for more moderate $.
  13. For the signing of Charlie Spargo for 3 more years. Signed up until his RFA year. Love Charlie! Only 3 premiership players OOC this year to sign up: Brayshaw, Hunt, Hibberd, Jackson. I so wish Hunt gets another contract or if not goes as a Premiership player. Laurie would be the only other OOC player (excl Rookies) that looks certain to get another contract. Chandler will be upgraded to the Seniors list.
  14. We don't have a list spot at this stage.. The candidates for the 'Inactive' list are Hibberd (or he could retire early) and Howes if his injury is likely to extend beyond 8-10 weeks. With Howes, I doubt the club would want to put him on the 'Inactive' list. They are more likely to want to get games into him and have the experience of playing VFL finals, if Casey make it. Our pick in the MSD would be quite late so it would only be worth it if there was someone we really wanted. My guess we won't be in the MSD.
  15. Andy Moniz-Wakefield - Concussion | Test James Harmes - Hamstring | TBC Michael Hibberd - Calf | TBC Christian Salem - Knee | 1 Week Kade Chandler - Suspension | 2 Weeks Joel Smith - Ankle | 7-8 Weeks Blake Howes - Foot | 8-10 weeks Updated: May 17, 2022 Difficult to see HIbberd getting back into the seniors. Salem 1 week 🙃☺️
  16. They mean Sydney the city rather than Sydney the club. But couldn't see Dusty choosing GWS over the Swans.
  17. I wonder how long before the media start stories about WCE trying to entice him back to WA to replace Kennedy or Darling...
  18. Some interesting games coming up: The top 4 teams each play 7 of the remaining 13 games against current top 8 teams. We have the most vs top 4 teams: 5 games Bulldogs and Port also have 7 games vs the current top 8. Swans have 6, Tigers and Saints have 5 and Cats have 3. Lots of 8-pt games and potential for ladder position changes, mostly in the 4th to 8th spot or an outside chance of 9th/10th (WBD, Port) sneaking into the 8.
  19. The 'edit' button 'expires' after x hours but not sure how many hours Never fear, subsequent posts to yours would have expunged any bad vibes picked up by 'bad luck' Gods.
  20. Sure is a winner! I rang the Shop, they have plenty in stock for OTC sales. More stock will be made for on-line purchase but they weren't too sure when. Will try and find out more when I go to the Shop tomorrow.
  21. Sadly, it looks like the scarves are sold out as couldn't see any in the mfc 'shop' on line.
  22. Yep. imv, asking people to vote is in poor taste and not in line with the occasion.
  23. The AFL and Ch 7 will rue their fixturing of Ess with consecutive 3 Friday night games in June, especially the one vs WCE! Reap what they sow!
  24. If Rich play Carlton, Geelong, Saints or Melbourne in a final the game will be at the G. They have shown they can win finals at the Gabba. With their draw they have a good chance of finishing 4th. Even finishing outside the top 4, in 2020 they had to win play 4 finals to the flag. I'm not all gung-ho for them winning finals or the GF just saying they have the ingredients to win a few, perhaps more than other teams except the Dees. After all the GF is played at the G and neither Freo or Lions have a good record their.
