  1. In Victoria, close contacts do not need to isolate. Nor did they the last time he had covid.
  2. Thanks for clarification. With that cred Hasleby's paraphrased comment is worth repeating: Freo has a commitment from Jackson and his management that he will go there if they have the draft capital to get a deal done. That suggests that Jackson is doing the right thing by the club in a trade and should allay the DL fears that Jackson "won't look after us"/Freo will dud us in a trade. And it suggests that if Freo can't do the deal Jackson will either go to WCE or stays.
  3. I have a feeling that is stretching an article by the somewhat unreliable WA scribe Paul Halesby. I popped over to the Freo bf forum to see what they were saying PH article says something like: Freo has a commitment from Jackson and his management that he will go there if they have the draft capital to get a deal done. The article is behind a paywall so I can't quote from it directly. As I said, I don't think PH is reliable. He strikes me as WA's John Ralph and plays lots of guessing and speculation games.
  4. Footywire says 2024
  5. Iirc Cerra wanted to come back to Victoria and waited until his manager found the club who could do the deal and we couldn't.
  6. Thanks for the info. By all accounts Freo wouldn't trade Cerra to us last year because we didn't meet their trade requirements so he chose Carlton. Any reason why we can't do the same with Freo, not from a vindictive view but a pragmatic one and Jackson go to Eagles.
  7. Yes, I figured it is related to first names. Waiting till 5.00pm..torture!
  8. Maybe a Hint about what it is related to rather than what it is not related to...
  9. Because it would never have been put on the club twitter/website if it was an offensive gesture.
  10. LOL! Goodwin said 'Oliver has been high maintenance in the first few days', wanting to play this week. That's Clarrie! Raring to go. Not this week.
  11. Saw it. Howes' cryptic 'Thursday vibes' and the victory emoji says Jackson is staying!!?? + Jackson's beaming smile (when everyone else is focusing on the next ball up) and his two outstretched fingers. = A two year contract coming up!!??
  12. Maybe that is a sign that it is two years!! And Howes' cryptic caption of 'Thursday vibes' is another sign...am I clutching at straws... ...an announcement today...???
  13. LOL! Got it. Thnks. Misinterpreted wwsw's post🤔
  14. He still could be. Maybe freo can't get the deal done and he is going to WCE. ala Cerra to the dees last year but the shoe is on the other foot!
  15. Not sure of the date. Keep an eye on this page https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/search?vid=304397&user_input=optus&q=Optus+Stadium&tm_link=tm_header_search
  16. The club has sent members their barcodes to upgrade GA memberships for the Coll and Carl games. For those wanting to do that and for those that aren't members who want to buy tickets, I suspect tickets will sell out fairly quickly as all teams are in the finals. They should be epic games with finals like atmosphere and crowds. Friday and Saturday nights respectively so no work the next day (for most people). Hopefully weather will be better in August. So lets see if we can outnumber the opps fans, or at least be louder than them!! Hopefully we can keep both teams out of the top 4!!!
  17. Don't think so! They had Archer at whose feet a lot of this mess lies. He recruited both Shaw and Noble and oversaw the decimation of their list and turnover of their coaching panel. Garry committed only one of those 'sins': recruiting Neeld, then was smart enough to stay out of the club.
  18. Lycett out for Port. "Lycett, who had surgery in April after dislocating his shoulder against the Demons in round four, played his first game back in the SANFL at the weekend. After running the game out strongly, the 29-year-old felt soreness in his shoulder on Sunday night and has since showed signs of an infection". Should we consider giving Gawn or Jackson a week off if either is still hampered by their recent injury?
  19. Their President said their CEO is staying. Without changing the CEO the rest won't happen or if it does it will be piecemeal rather than a co-ordinated plan that is sustainable like ours was/is.
  20. Maybe. But when I heard their President say something like they do not need to make wholesale changes internally, I was worried for them. Whereas we had a very clear plan and did make wholesale changes: the board a new CEO new CEO recruited new executive managers (who are all still there) a new coach new coach recruited a permanent senior coach new coach brought with him a experienced and reliable assistant managers trained a new football manager under Roos' tutelage we had a stable and well credentialed recruiting department (theirs resigned en masse last month). A new coach, even if it is Clarkson won't solve their problems without the rest of the above 'package'
  21. Yes lots of similarities between the two clubs back then. Just not sure they will learn from our and now their own mistakes since unceremoniously dumping players.
  22. Not as bad as it looks. Port's three wins at Traeger Park were in 2014, 2015, 2016. Wishful thinking by the Port poster.
  23. Don't have the answers to your questions @Spargonicus but it will be a very different game to that early this year. Earlier they had no Dixon. Wines was subbed out at half time. Lycett hurt his shoulder but played on. Somehow they kept Oliver to a low of 19 possessions and he had little impact. So it is anyone's guess how this game will play out. But we have Home ground advantage but not sure we will have Home crowd advantage. Hopefully, the fans get on board the Dee premiership train and barrack for us. I hope the club takes The Cup to Alice and let people there enjoy it, like we did. Ever the optimist: Dees by 3-5 goals. Just enough to keep our % above 130!!
  24. Bigfooty. Not a lot to say. They seem a bit fixated on ruckmen. On one hand, Gawn and Jackson could dominate us without a proper ruckman. On the other hand, Gawn and Jackson dominated us earlier in the year with a proper ruckman. Not sure how I feel on that… …...and we didn't kick a goal for almost three quarters. The point about the game earlier this year is Finlayson and Dixon did not play so when Lycett was injured we were forced to use Todd Marshall on Max Gawn for the second half and it was a match up made in hell as far as we were concerned. I think Charlie Dixon might offer more serious opposition. I also think our midfield is a lot sharper these days and our forward structure more productive so go with what we have. …We exist to play teams back into form, we've done it for years. On that basis I wouldn't read anything into any of the above. if we double team Fritsch do we get a Fritsch sandwich? 🙄 Oliver had surgery on a fractured thumb, but is still a chance to play. Same injury would have Fantasia on the sidelines for 12 weeks. More than zero goals in the first half, pls. This game has typical Ken Hinkley Port Adelaide written all over it. A close loss and a chance squandered against a legitimate contender. The players either man up & win or they do the usual and nothing changes coming into next week. Undefeated at Traeger Park. Reckon we make it 4-0. My favourite: This is a bit cruel but made me laugh: Holy s**t Jarrad redden is still playing SANFL? Fat ruckmen & forwards do well at SANFL level. I love seeing the fat blokes out there in the sanfl, it highlights what an elite sporting comp it is
  25. The AFL messed up the fixture badly. We played Freo in Melb during the Sir Douglas Nicholls fortnight. That game should have been in Alice. It should have been a prime time fixture not a Sunday afternoon. It was the best and most respectful time to wear the jumper and also at a more sensible time re the season
