  1. Thats so sad. Poor little fella.
  2. I have just got home from work to this sad news. Disappointed but not really surprised. However if Jared Rivers goes to Geelong, I would be shattered. I remember seeing him being interviewed on Dee TV (I think) and he spoke of visiting his girlfrinds parents place "up the coast". Maybe Geelong is more appealing - I hope I am wrong.
  3. Oh well - about to watch my last quarter of footy for 2012. I really don't care about the other clubs so I don't care what happens to them from here. I just hope the people who have the power, do the right thing when it comes to recruitment time. I have never seen the Dees win a premiership in my life time. My husband, both my kids, my parents and my closest friends have all experienced what I have been denied. But I am an optimist and will be back there supporting my beloved Dees in 2013. I never tip against them, think each week we are in with a chance and hope that 2013 will be our year.
  4. Go Dees. Well done Jared Rivers on 150 games. Please stay with us next year.
  5. I agree - I have thought for awhile that NN is very over rated. The commentators drive me crazy with their stupid talk. To compare his so called " brilliance" with Franklin even insults me and I hate Hawthorn. He may eventually become a great player but Im happy with Jack.
  6. OMG - that flying leap when he lands on his head still makes me cringe. Love Mitch - he's a top bloke. Love having him at the Dees.
  7. Oh I would be devastated if we lost Jared Rivers. I really hope he re-signs. I heard on the weekend that Geelong were interested in him. He is such a reliable player - always been one of my favorites. I tend to agree with you about Dunn as well.
  8. I am really torn with this one. I have really liked Brent over the time he has been at Melbourne; almost breathed a sigh of relief when I saw him listed each week as he was always so reliable, tough and a leader on the ground. His form this year ... well, I will not repeat what has already been said. He looks too bulked up - almost as though he is hitting the gym and protein shakes a bit too much. Perhaps thats why he has slowed down. I don't know... I have always seen him staying around at Melbourne until his time is up. But maybe his heart is not beating red and blue anymore.
  9. Go Dees. Even my now Collingwood mad daughter is coming with me today. From back in the days ( when she was normal and a Demon supporter) she still has fond memories of Brad Green selling her a Dees scarf at the AFL shop in Southland where he used to work. He was a youngster then but so, so nice. She is coming along today wearing that same scarf to say goodbye to Brad. I also have a good feeling about today.
  10. I have really liked the games of Nathan Jones, Jack Watts, Jared Rivers, Jack Grimes, Mitch Clark, James Frawley and lately Sam Blease and Jeremy Howe. I hope to add to the list this time next year.
  11. Just saw Jeremy interviewed on the Channel 10 news. He has been nominated eight times this season for mark of the year. Good on him - hope he wins.
  12. I wouldn't miss saying thank you and farewell to such a great man.
  13. I'm not sure if I heard correctly but I am sure that on Wednesday night, Gerard Healy said on 3AW that Melbourne had offered Cloke a 7 year deal. Please tell me I dreamt that.....
  14. Well done Brad - you were always a favorite of mine. From a female perspective (as many of the guys here are commenting on Pia) he was very easy on the eye and having met him - a tremendous bloke.
  15. I work with a Bomber fan and have spent years and years listening to her gushing about "St James Hird" , Lloydy and K.S. Cannot wait to see her tomorrow morning. What would have made my weekend more complete(apart from a Demon win) would have seen Collingwood getting done.
  16. You are correct, I saw this as well. I also saw an interview a few weeks ago where he stated he would like to play on. I hope my source was wrong - he is an anesthetist so maybe he has been inhaling too much nitrous oxide and was confused! I meant that I hope Brad retired because he wanted too - I would be disappointed if it was not the case. I personally hoped he would stay on another year - but that's just my opinion.
  17. Heard today in an operating theatre (often a great source for footy news and gossip) that Brad did not retire on his own terms. Very disappointed if that is the case.
  18. Brad Green - a true champ of the MFC. Thanks for the great memories and your loyalty, guts and determination.
