  1. Joel Smith has been absolutely Fantastic
  2. This looks a lot like yesterdays game.
  3. Jordan has been absolutely horrible. Cost us 3 goals directly.
  4. That legitimately sucks for Daicos, but his career will have a lot more opportunities. Murphy 2-3 with a foot injury is a concern at this time of year too. Feet are very hard to get right. That means Moore has to do a lot more one on one work. Changes their structure a fair bit.
  5. https://www.afl.com.au/news/992522/around-the-state-leagues-swan-fires-no-1-pick-responds-harley-s-star-turn Wow. The kid looks the goods.
  6. I loved it. You can teach a kid how to channel that aggression, but you can’t teach them the aggression itself. He’s going to be a star.
  7. Umpires at taxpayers stadium. Every time.
  8. Rhys Stanley is a liability
  9. If a footballer from the 60’s was cryogenically frozen and woke to watch the modern game I can’t figure out if they’d be more confused that the ruckmen have to nominate to compete, or that the names of the 2 ruckmen are Esava and Dante.
  10. The term ‘bull’ gets overused a lot in Football commentary.
  11. Kenny Hinkley on the boundary rubbing his hands together is giving me strong Monty Burns vibes.
  12. This game is why the MCG is one of the great stadiums in the world. The atmosphere is electric. We are very lucky to have the G.
  13. Absolute foot steps.
  14. How was that not an Eagles free in front of goal? Wow.
  15. Yeah, this guy. His face tells you everything you need to know. Screams at a teenager and gets offended when he gives it back to him.
  16. Watching that Marion Pickett incident in the 3rd quarter tonight I just want to remind all fans that it’s never ok to touch the players. This applies to all supporters, and certainly isn’t aimed specifically at @WalkingCivilWar when James Harmes wanders toward the cheer squad.
  17. I like to imagine that my $30 of Kayo is divided into $7 alimony for Jerry Hall, Wendi Murdoch, Anna Murdoch Mann and Patricia Booker, with the final $2 going to pay for when Tracc is on 360. It makes it much more palatable.
  18. My preference is that we win the quarter final by 15 goals, the Prelim by 20, and then I get a shock mid grand final week phone call from Goody, whose been covertly studying my comments on Demonland, and wants my football nous in the box for the big dance. Then when accepting his Jock McHale medal Simon says he couldn’t do it without me, and gestures me on stage, where I politely decline the medal (I’m not a narcissist), thank all involved, and then turn to Basil Zempilas (whose inexplicably been flown in to MC the event) and scream at him ‘Now for [censored] sake Basil, let Simon say a few words’ before ushering Goody up to the microphone to FINALLY have his moment. That’s my preference.
  19. Wait until one of your former teammates sons gets drafted. I pulled out the calculator and checked the math twice. Turns out the numbers don’t lie. I’m old.
  20. I did find todays announcement very unusual. No comment from the man himself. They either have something special planned for later in the year, or he’s the new Tom Brady.
  21. What a shock. Both in concussion protocols. This should be a 100k fine. https://www.afl.com.au/news/992464/port-duo-in-concussion-protocols-afl-issues-please-explain-
  22. I’m really happy for Bud. He’s had a brilliant career, achieved it all, and now he can return to his true purpose as a footballing legend… Supporting the Dees.
  23. It’s the nature of the teams we’ve played against. The Crows and Tigers played with a lot of run from stoppages. Adelaide have a great forward half so they want that high scoring style. Richmond got lucky with their scoring efficiency in the first half, but they also burnt us with run and opened us up early. With Brayshaw, Jordan and Viney on ball they tried to use speed to spread with Bolton and Martin, and it worked really well. Clayton makes us more dynamic in their. Goodwin feels as you do though. He said in the presser that scores like that ‘aren’t the plan.’
  24. Statistically the umpiring was very unusual. It was 8 free kicks to 2 Richmond’s way in the third quarter, and then we got 9 frees in a row over the next quarter. I thought it was over umpired in the last quarter. In the first half it seemed the umps stayed out of it.
  25. The current ladder is a great example of how uneven the fixture is, and how it makes teams look much better than they are. The Saints are 5th and I reckon every team down to 15th would pick them to play if they had to pick a side above.
