The heart beats true

I lived in Perth for 3 years about 5 years back. It has the best weather in the country, and easily the best beaches of any city. Eagles players are gods there. The club is super connected. If Harley goes to Perth he’ll be set for life. The Eagles are the biggest show in town by a massive amount. A former Eagles player I know got a sweet job that paid him 200k+ a year, a job he was criminally under qualified for - simply because he used to play for the Eagles. You play 100 games at that footy club and your whole life is set up.

Shocked to see no Dangerfield on the list.

He’s really good over head, and is a very clean kick. I think what’s holding him back is his fitness. The stress of playing on bigger bodies drains him of energy quickly, and so he often looks to struggle to stay in the contest. I’d say he’s still 12 months away, but he has the assets.

The interview was before training. He says ‘I haven’t got through training yet’. Let’s not jump at shadows. He’s not talking in real time. He’s talking about getting though training because he’s interviewed BEFORE training. It’s not all falling apart. I promise.

Murphy isn’t Daicos. That’s huge for them.

Ok, just for context, Harry played one good game forward. He looked great, but we also won a lot without him - including wins against Brisbane and Collingwood. All this stuff about how we can’t win a premiership now is just not true. Our system is ultra competitive. Our best player hasn’t played for 10 weeks, is about to come back fresh, and ready to tear the competition apart. It’s a speed bump, but have some faith. This is a great team.

Focus on the positives… CLARRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE! Can not wait.

Our biggest lost in 15 rounds is 15 points. We get no credit for being in games so consistently. Why’s that? Because we’ve been doing it for 3 solid years. Footy commentators hate consistency. Gives them no story to blow out of proportion.

I don’t mean to sound condescending about professional athletes, because it’s a highly specialised skill and requires a lot of commitment, but how can a multi billion dollar entity seriously think it’s a good idea to put someone on the commission who literally has no experience with administration? An advisory role, sure. But on the actual commission? That’s nuts. The guys never had another job, let alone the experience required.

A draft pick is a lottery. Look at Bowey and Laurie. One pick apart. Going a game clear of an interstate team in 2nd when we are massively in contention is worth a lot more than pick 4 vs pick 5.

I want Freo to win. Draft picks mean a lot less to me than multiple home finals.

I find it hilarious that Brisbane pay $2 million of their annual salary cap to tall forwards - who they then tell to get out of the 50 and let the little bloke go to work.

In the last quarter he’s was blatantly held 3-4 times. Their defence got away with murder in the last. Jake was having a laugh about with Goodwin post game.

I prefer Joel Smith behind the ball. He’s athleticism is better suited to straight lines. He won the ball back a couple of times today and looked great. I’d like Grundy in, and a chance to look at him and Max again.

Harrison’s had no luck with injuries this year.
