I would imagine that it’s not so much to do with public perception, but more to do with internal IP about salary cap management at clubs. If it was public knowledge what every player was paid clubs would know when they had the whip hand, and exactly to what extent, when trading with other clubs. I don’t imagine they want that, as it takes away bargaining power. It is weird though, and oddly out of sync with global sports.

I’m hoping for a Collingwood straight sets. If they don’t get it done this year then it gets significantly harder for them given their demographics. Also, if it’s not us I always prefer an interstate premier. You don’t run into their supporters on the street. It’s like it never happened.
