Part of the Lever trade?
-
Billy bounces because he runs in circles, can't make a good decision & can't kick.
-
After a quick read through it seems an old favourite (with a new name) has jumped up with the latest plausible information claiming it to be a scoop and from inside information. Hmmmmmmmm Now let me see, we've had the inside running on Lever for a while now & a reliable poster has confirmed that. So lets make that a scoop, use a later media story for reference on the time line. Gaff's name has been thrown around a bit so lets take a punt on that and if it doesn't come through we can always use the Eagles wouldn't release him from his contract That should do the trick. Mention a 3rd player, don't know the name despite the inside word. This is a no lose, we are certain to trade someone in so whoever it is can be the unknown 3rd man. ...and if all fails, it's just gossip.

He has seemed pretty unimpressive to me looking from the outside in. I think we have a pretty decent balance at the moment.

So boys, we've gone from next to none, to none to not even close to one in the space of 3 posts... You're both on the demon self pity band wagon. Oliver for a start is one, I would put Viney up there, Max, and see how many clubs would be falling over themselves if Petracca and Hogan came on the market. We did ok this year on the back of a lot of injuries and other issues to key players. I would be worried if those mentioned above were in their prime but they all have so much more room for improvement. We're on the right track, the list will evolve.

The 'Demonland' bookends. Start of the season...Blues sky...incredible depth how can we fit them all in our best 22, great problem to have. End of season...Dark clouds...the sky is falling we lack depth, so many VFL level only, we are stuffed.
-
Probably Kelly, but I wouldn't throw Shiel back...
-
...and Eddie's public utterances are an embarrassment.
-
If there is trouble at the Dogs my one from left field would be McRae... Not a rumour just an observation of the type of player who would fit nicely.
-
Agree 'Dockett', our issue is quality. Still too many depth players in the starting 22. We've got a really good foundation and when those kids get more experience and we add a bit more quality then we will be a quality team. I can't understand why people seem so concerned with the Kennedys & Wagners of this world.
-
Agree 'Wells', it's time to pull the trigger and have a red hot go at it. The top end talent is on the list and with some targeted additions we can make a run at it. Otherwise as you say we risk losing that top end talent.
-
...and Geelong's gems are. You still need top end talent coming through 'Wells'...your namesake at the cats hasn't had the luxury and their list is looking unbalanced. They've staved off the inevitable rebuild but it is coming and by the look of last nights game, very soon. Not saying we don't take the punt now, with our young talent I think we have to it's just there is a downside. 'Akum' is right to pint it out. If we pursue top end talent then we must win a flag with this group or it's going to be a very long way off.
-
I think GWS will bounce back, they've got too much talent but have selected the wrong team. The team we played had a much more mobile forward line and it suited their running game better. Forget last night, they are still a big chance to at least make the GF if they get their selections right. Lets hope they don't...

Joel Selwood running at the ball with an arm out and not through the contest....wasn't right to play tonight. Dangerfield trying to lift the team and playing selfish footy...come unstuck. Their most steady player all night for mine has been Lonegan and it's his 2nd last game.

Stringer is a midfielder being played as a key forward through necessity. He's in the mould of Ricciuto, just the dogs needed him to be mainly a goal kicker and he doesn't get many midfield minutes. If he pulled the finger (has been lazy) he would be ahead of Whitfield and on a par with Martin. Lot of if's but certainly worth a go if the FD think so.

Eddie (Betts not the other DH) made it interesting last night. Some pure magic...

One of my favourite days at the footy...

Leon Cameron's body language is atrocious...looked dejected & a loser in the 3rd Q with plenty of time left in the game.

Why I won't be heart broken if Richmond bomb out in the finals
rjay replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Banish them to Docklands.... -
Well of course we need to appease their supporters 'steve'....not.
-
Do you know anything about him @rpfc?
-
Watts was a pick one, what would he be worth now? I'm not sure Gaff is worth a 1st rounder, haven't seen enough of him this year but given the Hawks payed something like that for Mitchell I think it would be overs for Gaff. We have to get back in the draft at sometime, maybe if we trade our first rounder next year and get a 2nd rounder back from them that would be good. We will probably have pick 18 and their 2nd rounder might be 19 or 20...(only half joking) Not saying I wouldn't want him, I think he would be a good get for us.
-
Yep, if Hibberd is a 2nd rounder so is Gaff in my view...but I guess we will see.

Depends on the game plan...seems Kennedy is the focus. ...as for the downhill skier term, I think that applies to their whole team. Maybe different if he's away from that environment. I will trust the football department but one of their non negotiables in bringing in a player is attack on the ball/contest.
