Wouldn't make as good a story though 'Jack'.

Now...is there any serious talk of Beams being in a trade deal to MFC or is it just stuff made up here? Who is reporting this stuff and do they have real info or are they just reading 'Demonland'?

I know some are saying the situations are different and every situation is but if Beams is using his sick father to get out of Collingwood then it's pretty low I reckon. Clark used depression to get out of Melbourne, similar I think. I wouldn't trust Beams if that's the way he does business. Similar because both seem to have a value system based around money. I haven't read all of this thread but I think 'Pennant' mentioned something about taking time out to be with his father. If his father is in really bad shape then the only honourable thing to do is to go home, trade or no trade.

Melbourne considering shifting its base to MCG
'Hood', you might remember back in Box Hill in the days when the rail crossing was on Station Street just before every State election the tractors rolled in. Of course it was a con job on the electorate who thought that finally the crossing was being removed and the line going under the street. Then after the election the tractors disappeared but the crossing didn't. Ever since then I use the word "tractors" when ever I hear about the airport rail link and many other great ideas that seem to miraculously come up around election time and just as miraculously disappear after. This sounds like tractors to me.

The 2014 AFL National Draft
It's really not that important anyway, we should be well over the one player will help us thing and the great white hope number one selection. FWIW the 2 best up and coming mids in the game are Fyfe pick 20 and Parker pick 40. I still think Dean Gore will be a steal at anywhere from 20 to rookie.

Well there it is. That's the final straw that tells me we shouldn't get Petracca. If Garry says yes then no it is. Garry who picked our last 2 coaches, Garry "Scully is Judd" Lyon. Gary has no more idea of who the best junior talent in the land is than most on demonland and his track record is in the red to say the least.

I think that's true, I share a similar opinion to 'Machsy' on him so not going to slash my wrists if we miss. Laverde looks interesting but he worries me that he can run himself into trouble on the little I've seen of him. Murdoch tonight again brought this home to me, good pace, big kick but no football brain.

I'm not sure that he can go in the PSD, it might depend a lot on the settlement agreement with him and also the AFL's somewhat flexible rules.

I agree with this. I don't think Petracca is going to be make of break for us, there are a few pretty handy players in the projected top 10 or so.

Don't know where you get the idea that McCartin is a Pedersen clone, he's nothing like him.

That's why the trade proposition is probably not going to happen. The Dogs are in desperate need of a key forward, we have the keys to either Wright or maybe McCartin. We are not going to give that up for Hrovat, if they want, they have to trade and it would have to be Griffen, Stringer or McRae plus a pick...and they haven't got the balls to make that happen. They have nothing else of interest really, maybe Libba... Same with GWS as 'Pennant' has just said above, they will need to give up something really good if they are desperate for Petracca. The Saints have first shot at it but for us we would want one of their guns plus their first pick. How desperate are they? probably not that desperate but who knows. Collingwood? do they have what we want...maybe Beams or Sidebottom but I would want more. If they can manufacture something like a pick inside the top 8 as well. Can't see them putting their money where their mouths are. So where does this magical trade come from. Well the Tyson one was from left field so lets wait and see.
