WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
olisik replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Uuhhgggh seriously fcuk Caddy. We dont need more B grade mids. Id rather take Viney at 3,Kennedy at 13 and a decent 2 nd rounder then take Caddy at 13 so Viney slips. -
Why do people want Jimmy Bartel Isnt he turning 30 next year? Someone suggested a 4 year contract for him. You have to be kidding, his already slowing up... Pick #4 (Higher pick then he was taken for as an 18 yr old) + Pies first pick + Gysberts All in all 3 first round picks for a 30 year old. You have to be kidding

Thats irrelevant as this is a force trade. I am sure if Cotchin was 100% leaving then yes I would. I would also prefer A. A Player whose a 75% chance to become the same talent + a player of similar build who could fill a gap while the other develops over B. A Player whose 90% chance to become the same talent. -

Kristian Jaksch could develop into a player of Tippets calibre -
I would suggest Rischitelli and Caddy for pick #4

Pretty sure as soon as GC say 'Pass' at the start of October, Jesse Hogan will be on his way to AAMI Park -

Both Compo picks for Pick 2 and Caddy sounds fair to me. Then trade pick 2 and Martin for both MD picks (Martin to replace Giles) GC gets pick #4 and #13 GWS gets Stef Martin and Grundy MFC gets Jack Martin, Hogan, Caddy, Toumpas and Viney Am I dreaming to much? -
Swap pick 3 and 4 for Caddy, Toy and pick 2?

Adelaide are said to be keen on Giles which means they are looking for that type of player hence the Martin. In this draft pick 20 can replace Tippet, I really think that it would be a good 3 way. -

Martin and pick 20 for Tippett isn't to bad at all I would think. Especially since Martin could almost fill the gap that Tippet would leave They may be able to use that draft pick for Kristian Jaksch That would be better then just pick #8 which would be a Plowman or a Menzel. Jaksch + Martin > Menzel or Plowmen imo -
Kennedy , Wines, Garlett or Stringer will all end up better players then Caddy Please dont use pick 13 on him
-
Apparently we are going hard for Wellingham. Maybe Gysberts and Martin as a pair will go for him. 2 NQRs for player who will be in our best 3 mids. Good trade imo

Nice explanation why -
Pick 3 - Stringer Pick 4 - Wellingham (trade) + pick 17 Pick 13 - Caddy Trade Pick 17 - Vlastuin 2nd rounder - Viney FA - Monfries, Byrnes End up with Wellingham, Caddy, Vlastuin and Viney in midfield. Stringer to help Clarke up forward with Monfries and Byrnes at their feet. Good combination of draftees and experienced players. I think Neeld would like the look of something like this. I also think one of our half backs should be traded off, maybe Joel Mac, Davis or even a Tapscott as I can already see Tynan developing into a decent half back

3 way trade Caddy to MFC (And no Viney bid) Martin and GC 2nd rounder to Adelaide Tippet to GC Seems to work for all I would think -

GC want Whitfield and Tippet If we can help them with Tippet we should but how could we. Anyway that does not include Caddy? -
Richmond stars all OOC next year. Cotchin, Martin, Riewoldt. I wouldn't mind using our 2013 'warchest' on them.

I really hope we dont do a deal for Caddy. I really do not want another B grade mid on our list. Imo we need A grades only -

3 big factors working in our favor are 1. Caddy leaving, this will show GC what can happen if a player is unhappy at GC and living interstate. 2. Giles wanting out of GWS - This will put question to GC that GWS may possibly draft Grundy at #1 therefore they may not to risk #2 in fear of missing out on Whitfield. 3. GC risk losing on Tippett by bidding. GC bid on Viney, we pass and offer pick #4 to Crows for Tippet. Draft Whitfield/Toumpas at #3 (We should really get in the media about a potential early pick trade for Tippet to scare GC) -
I think that this would be a fair trade Martin + Pick 13 for Wellingham and pick 17
-
Care to name those players? Any interesting names?
-
Cotchin by a mile imho Carlton messed up and missed out on a potential dual brownlow medalist.

Damn I guess the MFC and GC will both wait and see how he goes in the Draft Combine before making decisions in that case. Other things ilke talks to Caddy, Wellingham ect may influence how we play this due to team balance ect. I really think it would be stupid of GC to draft a kid from Vic though if he is not rated top 2 and if he refuses to be interviewed by GC -
Wellingham, Toumpas, Viney, Hogan Pick 13 and Martin. Make it happen. We need a player exactly like him. He works alot harder then alot of people give him credit for and would be another Mitch Clarke under Neeld at the dees.
