You constantly harp on about us helping Adelaide though you never even put any potential or realistic scenarios in place. And yes we would need to bluff as I doubt we would want to pay pick #4 for Tippet though it would add doubt to the minds of GC which could result in them wanting to hang onto their pick #2 as insurance I have asked you once and I will ask you again. Why on earth would we want to help another club during trade period?

We should bluff about putting pick #4 on the table for Tippet. May be enough to cause GC to want to hold onto their #2 pick

Can already see Sylvia and Wellingham getting on like a fat kid and cake

AFL Draft & Trade Period Important Dates 2012

Well now that GWS have a 'War' with Richmond its less of an incentive to bid on Viney as they will be helping Richmond out by doing so. -

F these new franchises. First Scully, now Viney....seriously -
What deal would you suggest? Especially if Viney is one of their objectives... And why on earth would 'we walk to Brisbane to provide them with an unbeatable deal for Tippet' This benefits us how?
-
I have no idea why you keep harping on about a 17yr old anyway, they have not shown any major interest in trading off pick #2 for a 17yr old. They have shown interest in Viney and Tippet. Put 1 and 1 together. Pick #2 = Good for Viney, overs for Tippet. Logical outcome = Pick #2 for Viney and whatever else they can scrummage together for Tippet.
-
Best outcome would be for GC to trade pick #2 for Tippet + Adelaides first rounder. (Pick 18ish?) Only way I can see pick #2 coming into play
-
That makes no sence. Draft pick #2 will not be used for Tippet. And where have they said they are keen on a 17yr old. Whats preventing them from taking Viney at 2 then trading off Caddy as a package with their 2nd rounder and using what they get back from that to snare Tippet.
-
GC want both Tippet and pick #2. At the moment they are trying to use Caddy to get some lever-edge. Pick #2 for Tippet is overs. Pick 5 - 10 would be about right. So question is how can they use Caddy to get that type of pick? Caddy + 2nd rounder for Richmonds/Bulldogs/Carltons first rounder is only way I can see it being feasible, sadly I dont think those teams have expressed interest in Caddy.

He turns 30 next year. He wont be of 'Bartel' Quality next year. Better off throwing 3 first rounders and trying to get Cotchin
-
How is it a miss analysis? And why on earth would we put pick #4 on the table to assist Adelaide? GC have to fork out enough needed and currently they don't want to.
-
Biggest issue is that Gold Coast has nothing that we want to warrant us giving them pick #4 unless they are willing to part with Bennell or O'Meara for it. Realistically GC want more then they can afford or are willing to give. At the moment they are trying to manipulate a trade for Caddy which will buy them Tippet but any team would be a fool to think they are of the same value. Imho its either pick #2 or Tippet for GC

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JESSE HOGAN
olisik replied to Little Richard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Players like Hogan are a dime a dozen. I still would go for him. We have seen time and time again that mids can be developed from within. Beams is a perfect example of this, as is Barlow. Power forwards on the other hand can't be in my opinion. They either have it or they don't. Sadly our last few attempts to find one have failed as our recruiter was unable to determine the difference between having it or not. -
With pick 13 for Kennedy, Stef Martin and a 2nd rounder for Wellingham or if Viney slips to 2nd round then just trade pick 4 for Wellingham.
-
Martin for Wellingham in a heartbeat Why hang onto spuds who keep us in 16th place on the ladder
-
A combo of Viney, Wellingham and Kennedy injected into the midfield with Hogan/Stringer up forward would make a major difference. A small forward or 2 picked up late in draft/rookie/FA and our gaps will be much more filled. Midfield of Sylvia, Jones, Wellingham, Trengove, Kennedy, Viney, Howe and Grimes is quite attractive.

I think we can draft a better 2nd rounder then Caddy. Which would mean he isnt worth it in my eyes. Pick 4 or 24, we can do better.
