  1. Travis Boak: Averages 22.4 disposals @ 64.3% efficiency. Averages 3.2 marks, 3.7 clearances & 3.3 tackles per game.
  2. If Melbourne offer #4 for Bpak I will have a stroke!!! #12 was used for Mitch Clark, lets not forget that!!! Interesting times though, its all brewing in the background.....2 days ago the Dees were favourites to secure the top two 17 year olds, Hogan & Martin as GWS wanted the picks, today we are pushing for Boak. I'd love to be a fly on the wall! Who knows maybe we will cough up the two priority picks to GWS for the youngsters, so GWS can get Boak. Ahh the joys of the drafting period!
  3. We might need half your salary olisk to pay for him though!!!
  4. Somehow with some dodgy deal.....we can dream....((For fun)) Pick # 3 Jake Stringer if not available then Nick Vlastuin Pick #4 Jesse Hogan, pick #4 to GWS Pick #12 Travis Boak or Dayne Beams Pick #22 Jack Viney F/S. To let Viney slip. Be nice! Petterd to GC Spencer, Bate, Bennel to GWS - need a ruckman! F/A to walk to the Dee's: Mature players with finals experience. Shannon Byrnes? Clinton Young Brendan Goddard Oh well, wishful thinking!
  5. He doesn't go back to the forward line.
  6. Hypocrite. Laughable. Maybe you should bury your head into some of your own waffle before insulting others. Cheers for the photos of Cook, McQueen. He looks like he will be a monster and has the frame to fill out. Cheers.
  7. Most people are comparing Hogan to Carey & Martin to McLeod. Both are being touted as match winners.
  8. "Hogan has had a massive impact on the championships to date," AFL national talent manager Kevin Sheehan said of the 193cm key position prospect. "He's athletic, he takes contested marks, he hits the scoreboard and he can play down in defence as well. "He's super-competitive, aggressive, and looks to win that contested footy. He's really lit up WA's forward line. "Martin (a 184cm midfielder) missed the first game, but has shone in the past two. He's just so athletic, good in the air and quick over the ground. He kicks goals and can play in virtually any position on the ground. "He's got a little bit of weight to put on, but he's an exciting player."
  9. Martin 185cm & 64kg Mid Hogan 194cm & 95kg KPF
  10. I've said for 3 years we will threaten the premiership in 2014, even dreamt it, but we have a long way to go!! I know what we are capable of!!
  11. Was talking to Paul Couch down at the club today. He is probably itching more than his son for him to get a callup. It was pretty funny, he was all excited but said hes been like that all year. He is desperate for Tom to get a game but said it was maybe Magner that was keeping Tom out (not in a bad way). FWIW he really likes the look of Lucas Cook and doesn’t mind Davis, were his words. Anyway just thought I'd share.
  12. FYI the MFC players weights havent been updated for a long time. It also has Watts as 91kg when he is only 89kg. Cook is now 86kg and so on... Games/goals get updated, not sure why they dont update the rest.
  13. Its good to hear from someone who has actually watched Casey & Cook. Thanks.
  14. FORWARD line development coach Paul Satterley runs through the Melbourne-listed players who played for Casey against Sandringham Zebras at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Saturday Jamie Bennell: Jamie played half-back and showed glimpses of the form that previously won him AFL selection (14 disposals and a goal). He backed his speed and skills to generate some run for Casey. Jamie should take plenty of confidence out of this effort and now build some consistency in coming weeks. Lucas Cook: Lucas worked hard as a key forward. His leading and movement has improved significantly with his increased fitness. Unlike previous weeks, he did not finish off his work in front of goal, kicking three behinds. Tom Couch: Tom was heavily tagged again. He was made to earn every possession. Although kept quiet for most of the game, he stuck to the task and kicked the winning goal when someone had to stand up. Troy Davis: Troy played on a very capable and experienced forward in Beau Wilkes, who proved difficult to negate. Troy made some important spoils and continues to improve his disposal efficiency, particularly by foot. Jordan Gysberts: In ideal conditions for Jordan, he led the side in hard ball gets (13) and kicked two very good goals. The pleasing aspect was that he worked much better defensively which complimented his game. Stef Martin: Playing as a key forward and second ruck, Stef was very physical and hit the packs hard, giving a strong contest in the air and at ground level. Stef's form in recent weeks will help boost his chances for senior selection. Ricky Petterd: Returning from injury, Ricky was very efficient with the ball and kicked two classy goals. His attack on the ball was a great example to his teammates. More importantly, he pulled up really well and now just has to get his consistency in games and build his match fitness. Jai Sheahan: Jai was given time up forward for the first time at VFL level and competed well in the air when needed. A much improved effort on the previous game. Jake Spencer: Jake won 29 hit outs and used the ball well when he had it. His next step is to impose himself more around the ground as he is very capable in the air. James Strauss: James improved with each quarter. He reads the game really well and his use of the ball by foot is a real strength. His running is no longer hampered by his previous injury and we can see his confidence growing week by week. Josh Tynan: It is very clear that Josh relishes the contested ball both in the air and at ground level. He is another player who is improving form and fitness and just needs to keep doing the basics well. Leigh Williams: His return to senior footy is a positive in itself. He works hard, is a very honest player who gives a contest whenever the ball is in his vicinity. Difficult conditions for the forwards, he will be better for the run. VFL development league Jack Fitzpatrick: We were pleased to have Jack playing. He was very team orientated, kicked a couple of goals and pulled up really well. Kelvin Lawrence: Kelvin kicked a goal, chased and worked hard defensively
  15. She's a tough gig stuie!!!
  16. Well I'm friggin sorry for trying to bring something of interest to the board!!! The reason I did was there were two posters yesterday who were disagreeing. Get over it. FYI I will post whatever I like, as long as its not offensive to anyone I will keep rolling.
  17. Butcher has only played 6 games all year and has had a bad run with injury.
  18. MELBOURNE utility Rohan Bail continues to be frustrated as he makes a slower than expected recovery from a concussion received against Carlton in round 9. Bail missed his third game in succession on the weekend after being a late withdrawal from Melbourne's clash with Greater Western Sydney. However the club is determined to take a prudent approach to ensure he demonstrates that he has made a full recovery before he returns to play. Although Bail had trained solidly last week, neuropsych testing conducted on Friday afternoon showed he was not quite back to baseline. "Our club is being diligent in this area and we are not prepared to play him until those changes have improved," Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney said. "It's frustrating for the club and for Rohan. Physically he feels good. He trained all last week. It has just been a frustrating delayed recovery to concussion." The club's approach is consistent with the AFL's conservative approach to managing concussion. Players diagnosed with concussion during a game must be substituted from the game. However there is no obligation for a player to not play the following week. Clubs are expected to make sound decisions based on evidence and the player's welfare. The AFLPA is encouraging its players to be responsible and advise clubs if they continue to feel adverse symptoms after being concussed. Bail, 23, underwent scans recently and has consulted a neurosurgeon as the club's medical staff manage his recovery. Mahoney said Bail will have further tests later in the week. "Hopefully he has improved in those areas. He will be available to play as soon as he does," Mahoney said.
  19. I'm pretty sure I meant focus on getting the bloody ball in their first - then kick straight.....After all you are talking about goal kicking!
  20. Forgetting the GWS game, I think we should concentrate on getting it into our forward 50 before investing in this aid!!! B)
  21. I will stop being a goose.....if you start to have a gander.... Ok it wasnt funny, go dees!
  22. FWIW I'm very bored today so I have gathered some more stats for you - make of it whats you will. I have taken his stats since 2009 as he was injured a fair bit before that. Im in no way sticking up for him or against him but he's obviously playing a slightly different role although still spending majority of his time in the midfield. I guess the most interesting stat for me is he has only played 67% gametime this year, down 17% on his good year in 2011 where he was on the ground 84%. Taking that into account maybe his stats arent as bad as what people reckon. 17% gametime is roughly 17 minutes of footy. 23. Just to bore you all & a bit of fun.... One of my favourites - Jack Watts, beautiful kick of the footy. Watts averages 19.7 disposals a game this year, only playing 74% gametime, down 10% on last year. Disposal efficiency in 2012 - 79%, career 75.1%. Can kick a footy the boy. However his goal kicking accuracy is interestingly 67% and from memory a lot of these shots have been fairly easy set shots over the last 4 years. Stef Martins disposal efficiency this year is well down on previous years at 60%. With a career goal kicking accuracy of 58%. Jeremy Howe disposal efficiency is 67%, goal kicking 58% over his career. Tom Hawkins disposal efficience 69.1%, goal kicking 61.5%.The goalkicking aid sounds like it would help, but I am of the opinion that sport is a lot to do with between the ears.
  24. Haha only reason I knew that was because he used to take us for skills lessons in Tas
