  1. GWS actually have a really good record in Canberra. Haven't lost a game in the last 5 games I've seen them play here (record could be longer) and the some of the teams were no slouches. Still give us a good chance and it should be a good game!
  2. In fairness to Scully I don't begrudge him for what he said to Jimmy. Doesn't mean I won't boo him everytime he touches the ball (which is a fair bit these days, it was far more fun when he wasn't good).
  3. It was midway through the season right after we come off a bye... Claiming that I was unsupported by evidence backed up by no evidence.... hmmm... Sure it's not ideal but every team has challenges throughout the season. Not one team would have an ideal run throughout the whole year and I can guarantee you that we certainly do not have the worst draw. Imagine having to travel every second week.
  4. TBH our supporters sound like a bunch of princesses complaining about a 6 day break. I'm glad I haven't heard Goodwin whinge about this. This is a professional sport, if we can't get the team motivated and ready after a 6 day break then we don't deserve to be playing finals. I really didn't like the quote that we played 4 games in 18 days. The eagles did the same thing in rounds 1-4 this year March 26 to April 13, travelled twice to Melbourne in that time but you don't hear them complaining. Collingwood also did it this year round 5-8 April 25 - May 13. I remember Buckley complaining about 5 day break between Anzac day their next game and thinking he should suck it up. Our supporters need to do the same. Also find it surprising why the same supporters don't quote that we had a two week break before the run and why we weren't rusty from the all the time off! Stats can also be quoted to go the other way.
  5. Salem signed up a couple of weeks ago
  6. I guess you'll be coming up with the 1 mill per year the NT sponsorship covers. We're not a big club and still need the money. We would've lost in Melbourne anyway did not have the cattle on the field.
  7. He seemed remorseful in his interview, his reaction to me looks like he knew it was a bloody stupid thing to do. Guessing he will cop 6 weeks. It will be interesting to see how he responds to his holiday.
  8. He definitely wasn't strutting around. You could see he let the sydney players push him around after it. It looks like he regrets it and it had a big weighting on the rest of his game.
  9. Wouldn't be writing the dogs off yet. They had an okay year all of last year and were only dominant in the final 4 weeks, where it counted
  10. Let's not degrade to this level....
  11. Notice that the suns don't have one either. Not sure if it's relevant though
  12. Really unlucky for the kid as well. Had a good chance to cement a spot in the team with potential Kent and garlett out in the early rounds
  13. I don't see the fact that he had suicidal tendencies before having any fact in the matter. I would like to think any workplace would care about the welfare of their employees regardless of their history. Obviously Richmond could have done more to help this kid, although I don't think it's a problem that is isolated to Richmond. I would think that many clubs are lacking in the ability to deal with the welfare of all their players and maybe the AFL need to set up an external program for all players.
  14. Think you're being a bit harsh on David Neitz, club goals record holder and games record holder should surely put him up there. But fair enough, we'll agree to disagree.
  15. You don't think David Neitz and Nathan Jones will go down as the all time greats of the MFC?
  16. I don't mind the academies. The best result from the academy is that we no longer need them because regions in sydney are pumping out the best few draft picks every year. I see there has been no mention of the academies that Brisbane/Gold Coast have so it seems like it's only "unfair" when teams are doing well... However, giving the riverina to GWS is a different story.
  17. I think you've read one too many spy novels. Prestia will go to Richmond if they can agree to a deal with GCS.
  18. Did anybody actually read it? Sure it started off angry but he goes on to say there is cause for optimism. Not sure an open letter is the right forum. But I agree with op's sentiments
  19. How about instead of being so condescending you actually think about someone else's point of view. Extreme scenario's just to prove my point. North's percentage is currently 111.5% at 1760 for and 1578 against. Let's say they lose their next 3 days by 1-0. Their final points and for will be 1760 and 1581 (percentage of 111.3% using my calculator) Our percentage is currently 102.6 at 1748 and 1704 against. Let's say we win our next three games by a total of 135 and the other teams don't score. Our final points for and against will be 1883 and 1704 against. Our final percentage will be 110.5% meaning we lose out on finals. I will admit that 138 is a good indicator but the fact is you were talking about how our percentage would be exactly the same if we bridged that 138 point difference (by saying how they would decide spots), it would only be the same if we had exactly the same amount of points for and points against, or if the ratio was the same (highly unlikely when both teams points for and against are in around 1700). Anyway the point is that while 138 may be the difference, currently North's lower point against will mean that even if we do bridge that gap we might still finish lower.
  20. They actually do... It's the afl regulations 2.5 if the percentage is exactly the same then the premiership points between the games against the two clubs, if that is the same then the percentage against the two clubs then a toss of the coin.
  21. I think you'll find out that's not quite how percentage works. Just like in the extreme example 2-1 is 200% and 101-100 is 101% despite the difference being 1 in both cases
  22. They have a few more on the website http://afl.nab.com.au/
  23. You've named 10/16 teams in that statement... I'm guessing you would be pleased if they gave a premiership at the start season to the next team alphabetically.
