GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
Sorry to all of you doing it tough in lockdown from this horrid disease but I guess the alternative is even worse. let’s hope it works and ends soon! I’m Sitting at work in my office in Sydney CBD trying to be a mature 60 year old manager - inside churning and jumping around like a kid about to go on his first date. Biggest game I’ll have been to since our last Grand final.

May’s Kick-in From Behind
Can’t say I disagree with any of the points made here. Mostly if it’s working and it’s not coming back there’s nothing to see here….

May’s Kick-in From Behind
It’s very noticeable that May kicks to the left on kick-ins pretty much every single time, a couple of times short to Salem but mostly long to a pack. I think even the commentary remarked on it in the Bullys game. I can but presume it’s with the coach’s approval and for good reason, but it seems very predictable? Of course that’s where Max and co set up. At the same time vision would show say Pickett right up the middle with plenty of empty space and with his speed could surely give a good lead up? Maybe the potential for intercept is too high? How about going right to a smaller pack for some unpredictably?

Lever vs Rance
But Lever has the ‘tache, so there’s that.

Ex Demons. Where are they now?
Jesse looked ok in that game, dished off a few which came unstuck trying to be unselfish- should get a go with the big boys next week and Hannah played for Footscray same game and looked ok - with western Bullies injuries may also get a go next week.

Another Covid breach by Richmond
But, but they said they were sorry? Probably embarassed and sorry, maybe even very sorry

Obscure Ex-Demons
How about Paul Callery? Not in the obscure category...? Smallest player in the league during his playing time. I think he also went on to calling games for radio (I don’t live in Melbourne). Caleb Daniels is 5’ 6” so Callery is an inch shorter (be even shorter now as he turns 70 this month). Paul Callery (born 18 April 1950) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne, St Kilda and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. Callery was a rover and started his career in 1970 with Melbourne, topping their goalkicking in 1971 with 38 goals. He had worked his way into the senior side after impressing in the under-19s where he was a Morrish Medallist. One of the smallest players in the league, Callery crossed to St Kilda in 1974 and went on to play 105 games with the club before finishing his career with a stint at South Melbourne in 1980 which lasted just one game. Paul Callery Personal information Date of birth 18 April 1950 (age 69) Original team(s) Oakleigh YCW Height 165 cm (5 ft 5 in) Weight 68 kg (150 lb) Playing career1 Years Club Games (Goals) 1970–1973 Melbourne 76 (102) 1974–1980 St Kilda 105 (98) 1980 South Melbourne 1 (0) Total 182 (200)

Sydney Game at the SCG
Woohoo - been so long since I’ve caught a Dees game at the SCG. Just up the road for me.... Getting my complimentary (interstate member) tickets as soon I know who else in my family is coming. Otherwise if I go to a swans game I go to the alcohol free zone which is a smallish section - then you don’t get peeps squeezing past every 5 minutes to get beers.

Post Practice Match Discussion - Melbourne v Collingwood
Let me guess what the coaches will say: Goodwin: it was a good hit out and good to come away with a strong win without having to overstretch ourselves. Buckley: the score doesn’t matter, we were able to test players out of position

AFLW on the main board
I, for one, am completely and totally disinterested in AFLW, though I do get that many people are invested. I have no worry with how much or little others want to get into AFLW, but as I am so disinterested I do find it a tad annoying that the AFL official site and the Fox Sports AFL pages, for example, intermix the AFL with AFLW so readily and very much prefer they were totally separate pages so that those that are passionate can easily read to their hearts content and those like me don’t have to sort though to find the AFL. Mind you, I get equally annoyed to have to sift through so called ‘news’ items like Dermott Bretton losing weight on a reality show or Dane Swan going to some wrestling match with guys from Hollywood...... Of course I do get the those web sites are a strong marketing tool for them. Anyway, I don’t intend this to be an AFLW bashing exercise as they have every right to do their thing and enjoy playing, being watched etc., but my vote would be ‘no’, don’t merge AFLW with the main page.
