  1. While our forward line looks a lot better on paper with Jessie there at FF/CHF, it hasn't functioned that well over the past 10 weeks with him there. With Weideman's impressive debut and having Watts and Pederson in the forward line I wonder whether Goodwin will experiment and try Jessie in the midfield over summer. He is a similar size to Bontempelli and Fyffe and has the same smarts. imagine what impact he would have.
  2. The gameplan got us within a kick of winning against last years grand finalist at a ground that we haven't won at in a decade and against a team that has beaten us over there on average by 10 goals over the same period. Imagine when this very young side gets another 25 games under their belt with the same gameplan and a couple new experienced imports, it will be exciting. Some guys here need to chill out.
  3. I was thinking the same. is the business logo the tyre place in town?
  4. Can't believe you guys have left out Wagner (except Angry). He has hardly put a foot wrong. I would have a fit and running Trengove playing HF instead of Kent. He would get more involved and is a better mark. We have a number of pacy HF's and mids to make up for Jack's apparent lack of speed. He would bring another point of difference to our forward line.
  5. As much as I would love him to stay, if Jessie does decide to leave it should be at the end of this season. We would receive very good compensation in the order of Freo's 1st round pick which at this stage is looking top 3 and their 1st round pick in 2017. Also the club would want a player as well. Which player? I don't know but he would need to be young (which is rare on their list). We can then on-trade these picks to persuade a potential available star like Hurley or Jenkins to come to us. End result wouldn't necessarily be too bad. Generally a club that loses a star player does not lose out and in fact in a lot of cases becomes the clear winner.
  6. To get a player like Prestia we will need to give up a player that the supporters would not want to give up. To my way of thinking he would need to be young but we have plenty of. Two names spring to mind would be Salem or ANB.
  7. So on your logic you would have traded Alex Rance years ago.
  8. Thanks C&B. That made it simple.
  9. I just tried to subscribe to AFL live App to watch the replay on my Macbook. I followed their prompts and paid by credit card and received a confirmation email. I logged in to watch the replay thru afl.com.au but they are still asking me to subscribe. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using Google Chrome as my browser.
  10. And you reckon we had our best side in? It was a VFL side v VFL side.
  11. Thanks Double Dee. Unfortunately they all show only q1.
  12. Last year I was able to watch the replays free from afl.com.au. Now it appears you need to subscribe to watch live football and also the replay. Is this new this year or is there another way around this to watch the replays free on the net? I don't have foxtel.
  13. How do you know Goodwin fired them up. He doesn't come across as that type of coach. It appeared to me that the endeavour was there in the first half but the game plan was not been adhered to. I would have thought he would have pointed that out and urged them to take on their opponents and run while other team mates man up defensively.
  14. Was there evidence of these low raking kicks to a player that apparently they have been practicing? If so who were the best / worse exponents?
  15. I assume Goodwin is free to coach this year.
  16. Your opening paragraph is the same as saying "I'm not a racist but......". You devote 5 words to Martin and the rest is a rant about women. Your post has a misogynist feel to it.
  17. The probability of a draft pick in the high 20's being a 100+ player is quite low. The probability of that player being a star is even more remote. JM has already played over 100 games and a there is a chance that he might actually turn into a very valuable player. Even if we don't see him this year (re WADA) I think its a risk worth taking.
  18. I always find it interesting that clubs have to teach young players so much about the techniques of the game outside of any game plan. GRRM mentioned above how Rowlings was showing a seasoned group how to take a one on one mark and Dawes showing King how to kick a ball. Why aren't these skills taught at TAC level and even earlier. In my opinion 90% of these techniques skills should be addressed before they enter the AFL system especially kicking, both left and right foot. I would of thought that clubs would prefer to just concentrate on their game plan drills instead of spending so much time educating their players on the basics. Maybe the reason is because the recruiting age is so young but that said I would like to know what they teach them at TAC level. Just my thoughts.
