  1. This is what happens when the CEO/Board get involved and take over negotiations from the FD. Didn't Paul McNamee do something similar?
  2. Yes that gives them a chance of getting Rankine. I'd push for pick 8 and a 3rd rounder for May and KK
  3. Then what do we give up for May and KK? Love to keep pick 5 or do we need to convert that pick 5 for 2 teen picks.
  4. Huh? Sometimes you are hard to understand Bub.
  5. Good thinking but we could turn pick 6 from Freo into 2 early teens and trade one of them for May and would be better off.
  6. Do you know something? Are there whispers from inside about these two?
  7. Who would you part with to get another first rounder next year?
  8. So the conversation is whether we would be a better team with Kelly instead of Hogan. The question I ask which player has the potential to win us a final. I feel Hogan could cause more damage than Kelly. That's nothing against Kelly.
  9. Have no fear. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/how-oscar-mcdonald-has-gone-ahead-of-his-brother-20180912-p503b9.html
  10. Matthew Lloyd made an interesting comment on the Hogan discussion saying that Weideman would make an ideal CHB with Lever back to being the intercepting 2nd tall. I think this setup has merit and would not be surprised seeing it during pre season (obviously without Lever at this stage).
  11. I think Hannan is our x-factor.
  12. Has played 17 games this season and kicked 2 goals as a forward and only 5 goal assists. Hmm something's wrong.
  13. Another thing to think about is the seriousness of Jessie's injury....his foot.
  14. I would only be interested if the Dockers actually approached the club with an offer. I would only be interested if that offer was their first round pick and one of their players eg Langdon or possibly Andrew Brayshaw ( I know he has re-signed, but we might give them back a pick). I would then use that first round pick to try and pick up a quality mid like Gaff or Shiels
  15. Yeah and they know where Jessie is at. He averaged only 3 votes out of 10. Hunt - 2.9 votes, Watts - 2.6. Even Clarrie averaged only 6 votes out of 10.
  16. Lets not get carried away with Petty's highlight reel. Oscar has come a long way in 12 months and the footy department obviously do recognise this.
  17. I would not be replacing Oscar too soon. From what I can see from the highlights they both have similar attributes.
  18. After watching his interview with Matt Burgen I watched his highlight package again of when he was with GWS. Reminds me of Jayden Hunt with maybe better foot skills. Doesn't mind taking the game on. Hope he has an injury free run. Could be a real surprise. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-10-20/mckenna-a-giant-catch-for-melbourne
  19. Get a grip. Just look at the attrition rate at other clubs. Its no different.
  20. You don't want to be wrong do you.
  21. Comments about selling the farm on trades gets way out of context. Selling the farm applies to the mega trades like Tom Boyd and Buddy. These trades represent significant risk to a club. The Lever trade would be like selling one of your prime bulls. The club is not risking everything and everyone would agree that the rewards will outweigh the risks.
  22. You are right. Like Watts he couldn't get the ball.
  23. You just mentioned it. Lever will improve our list. JW was an elite kick but so was Strauss. Jack failed on all other KPI's. Tell me what mids were available. Sam Gibson was the only one and he's 31. The club achieved what they set out to do this trade period and got it done early. We don't muck around.
  24. Its about quality not quantity. You seem to just want action.
