POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Liked seeing Bowey at half forward in the last. Refreshing to see a kick to a key forwards advantage that draws them to the ball.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Good game save for some frustrating moments. Lots of players slipping from both sides. Can't say I love our forward line set with our talls. We seem to spend about half of each quarter with one of Petty, Gawn or JvR on the bench and as a result we have a single key target. Petty gets up the wings and we are looking at Fritsch and Melksham to be our aerial targets. They do this well for mid-size players, but I think we would make our lives so much easier if we had two keys in the forward line for most of the game.

Probably not much chance with this one but perhaps we should be monitoring Jordon Croft from the bulldogs? 201cm athletic key forward. Hasn't played at senior level yet but starting to put some nice form together at VFL level. Hard to see him getting a chance with Naughton and Darcy unless they opt for 3 talls.

FYI these stats on the afl site are highly untrustworthy, tackles, marks and some disposals not fully accounted for

Spargo doing his best to arrest momentum. Some nice plays in the last couple minutes.

Feel we need to move one of our key forwards into the back half. Whether it's Johnson, Kentfield or even Kalani. We have too many up forward and are noticeably short in defence.

Not a bad idea. Kids important for our future and he's had a big year, particularly off a limited pre-season. Can't play Casey finals so getting him right for day 1 pre-season with no niggles should be a priority.

Just realised that Lindsay isn’t named for Casey. That's two weeks now of no games at either level for him. Management after a long year or perhaps an injury concern? No mention of him in this week's injury report.

Another viewing of Kalani while potential top 5 picks in Willem Duursma and Daniel Annable (Lions academy) will both be lining up.

Good to see Jed selected. Has put some good form together at Casey and looks solid in the air and by foot. Will be the first time #26 is seen at AFL level since the Weid last played in 2022. Fun fact, the previous owner of #26 was non other than Petracca. He sported #26 in his first season at the club, however didn't play a game in it due to his pre-season ACL injury.- PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
- Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
Have to agree with deespencer, he'll get exposed in the backline both for pace and in the air. Only chance there would be a Caleb Daniel style loose defender. I've been a Laurie believer but think he's only shot would be as a high half forward connector role in competition with Spargo, Sparrow, Chandler, Sharp, Kolt etc... He's been hard done by in my opinion. Should have had games ahead of Kolt, Spargo and Sharp at various stages throughout the year. Only got 20min in the awful Alice game where there was zero pressure from the getgo and was the sacrificial lamb there. Jefferson has played more games this year than Laurie has in two years, while Sharp has played more MFC games than Laurie has in his career. Clearly not rated by Goody. Will be interesting to see if he gets a gig in the last 3 weeks. If not, if any club is interested he should jump at a trade request.- 2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I really liked what I saw of Jacob Farrow. Probably out of our range but do you have any insight @Pennant St Dee ?- Trade Targets
I like him, has genuine speed and uses the ball well. Was a bit loose defensively but wouldn't read too much into that given it was his first game back and playing in a poor team. Him and Windsor on the wings could be real line-breaking weapons to help our transition game.- PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Selection and where players line-up this week will be interesting.- Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
A needed part of the list. Will probably cost a 2nd round pick given he's a young ruck. Only 22 as well.- NON-MFC: Round 21
Come on freo you pretenders. Need you to win to help us stay above Carlton which in turn will give Essendon a lesser pick. The greater good.- 2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
