I heard Tony Shaw say "Rumour Mongrels" once .

That is , of course , if you assume that our Club doesn't have a good working relationship with the AFL . It might seem that way , especially with the way they've structured some of the rules which might not suit our Club . Every issue is separate and should be dealt with in accordance to procedure . In the end , it's the AFL who adjudicate on any wrongdoing . My point was that we should at least let the AFL know that we're not happy re the $cully affair - this may help with future dealings . Going to the Media is fraught with danger - they may not take our side .

Ha ha ! Yes , either that or perhaps he decided ( long ago ) to "Lay down the tools" Spose , being up on those roofs , you'd get quite good at "Spotting"
-
Spot on , Whispering Jack . The reality is that sometimes you have to go into bat even though you know you probably won't win - A bit like making a contest at Centre Half Forward . However , I reckon that Cameron Schwab may have made a couple of discreet phone call to the AFL over the $cully affair - at least I hope he has . Nothing wrong with standing by your principles . All part of being proud , strong Demons who stand for something . Fair play should be one of those principles we stand for .

Yeah , good point , if you could get the player to agree to it . Fair solution that one "Deez" . Btw - you'd have to think that Colin is going to be out of pocket a fair bit re the whole accident . -

Yes , I thought of this as well but on checking found that 5k is the maximum fine that can be imposed ( CBA ) Stand to be corrected though . -
"And it's on ! " " The player's had better watch themselves !"
-
It's no good blaming the umpires . "They're only human!"
-
"He's a required player" ( weren't able to trade him ) "He needs to get more consistency into his game" ( he's happy to play 1 good game in 5 ) "Bruise free football" (_______)

Yeah , as ya said - epic game ! I'm a Hammers fan myself but I like all the Big Premier League teams - esp when they are matched up against each other . If Arsenal can shore up their defence they will at least push for a Champions League spot - I'm liking Newcastle's season as well .
-
Chelsea 3 Arsenal 5 - how about that for a game ! An absolute cracker ! Are the Gunners back in business ? Van Persie was superb !

Mamma Mia !!

I did this once - but I had an ulterior motive !

The "Lunatics are running the asylum" up there . Apart from being non competitive with pitifully low crowds ( get ready for some questionable figures ) the Sydney media will also use this mob as the butt of their jokes . It's has taken years for the Swans to be accepted and there is still a fair bit of anti AFL sentiment in Sydney so when GW$ lose all the time ................... Of course , the AFL will continue to pour tens of millions into this "basket case" and keep "it" alive . Such a waste , and if they had of poured the same "obscene" amount of money into a Tassie Team ............................ "What goes around , comes around" , so you can bet there are plenty of Clubs that will be eyeing off all their prime draft picks when they come out of contract . The "Rules of engagement" have changed - from now on it's "open slather !" ( apologies for all the cliches ! )
-
Not even sure these are all cliches but ........... "Our window" "As the list matures" "2013 will be our year" "2014 will be our year" "2015 will be our year" "Games into our young list" "He needs a couple of good pre-seasons " "Talls take longer to mature" "He's an outside player" "2016 will be our year"
-
Yeah , hard to get a crowd decision when playing interstate and the home team will nearly always get "extras" The reverse often applies however when we play an interstate team at home ( some would argue ! ) That " Rule of thumb" isn't going to change in a hurry so you might be waiting for a while there " Freddy " ! Always thought that an " Away " interstate team needs to be at least a 4 or 5 goal better team just to break even . Or , if the away team gets away to a flyer and takes the crowd out of it .
-
Just watched the replay - again ! That was one hell of a game - Has to go down in folklore . Especially if the Cardinals go on to win the whole thing ! 8 hours to game 7 ! Can't wait - C'mon Carpenter - " Do the Business !" ( even though I'm a Redsox fan ! )

Well a big heavy fine and a number of extra training sessions might have satisfied most ( esp those who didn't want Colin to miss a game ) but $5,000 is the maximum fine under the "Collective Bargaining Agreement" ( fairly sure that's right ) The hip pocket is often where a professional sportsman feels it the most but the Clubs can be hamstrung by the rules it seems . -
Yeah , Vick vs Romo is a classic duel ! 9 wins might win this division and your blokes could easily be lying 4 / 2 instead of 2 / 4 . Nearly always the best Division to watch btw - This game is so vital for both teams - and what's the odds there is some 4th quarter game-changing interception ?
