Terrible throw and high risk by Love. He's quite good but not that good Packers lucky to win as we should have closed the deal early

That's the narrative but I don't buy it. The Pats success meant that the average Joe supporter wanted to blame them for anything & everything Jealousy & envy at play as it normally is Truth is that Brady & Belichick and their team were just superior and they never received any undue favours. All the rest of it was BS And I agree with protecting the QB. Should have happened long ago. Cheap shots in sport are weak and the previous hits on QB's were often cheap shots Same thing used to happen in footy until they took action (finally) That of course, didn't apply to Maynard

Well as previously mentioned, the NFL can look slow as it's not end to end stuff like footy. To really like the NFL is a slow burn but once your hooked, you're all in So it's like a chess match but a lot more physical! Once you understand the rules and the scoring methods, it's quite an easy game to follow I first took notice of the sport decades ago but it took another 10 or 15 years until I really got into it. Now, the NFL just replaces the footy once the footy season ends. One sport ends as the other starts I'd say the dozen or so people on this thread are very keen on the sport at about the same level of interest

If you could ever get your head around a sport where gaining 2 or 3 yards in territory is often seem as a huge positive, then the NFL might be your go, ET It's certainly an acquired taste and it can take years to fully appreciate. But as slow as the sport can look, each play is unique and is hard to predict And any sort of score can come from nowhere. No 2 games are alike as well The sport is way less violent these days but players will still use their helmet as weapons And the Quarterbacks are well protected!!

Jets & Vikings on at 12.30am ... if I wasn't working I'd be tempted to do an all-nighter Oh for the days when I could just take Monday's off! Probably get through the first half of the Jets/Vikes game though SNF & MNF are good match-ups this week

Atlanta wins! The Bucs were always winning until they weren't!
  10. A board needs to ratify any number of decisions (especially major decisions) So off-loading a $7Million+ contract (with a decent idea of what might be coming back) wouldn't be done without the board's knowledge & approval That's not to let Pert off the hook, as all our issues are happening under Pert's watch
  11. Stafford gone, Roffey gone, McQualter gone, Janette Kendall gone from the board, ANB going, Oliver going? Are we in the midst of the domino effect? The external/internal review happening now Those under discussion by those on the outside ... Pert, Richardson, Petracca, Lamb, Kozzie and there might be one or 2 more And the review might expose Goodwin (game plan primarily) From my point of view, the biggest concerns are player behaviour, injury issues and and our pedestrian style of play Off field? There's probably a lot that we don't know about, so it's a guessing game

You know what happens now? McVay will run the ball and the Rams win. The Packers at home allowed the Vikes to get out to a 28-0 lead!! Home team wins

@Dr. Gonzo @layzie The 3 Lead-pipe locks all failed to salute unless we did a Seinfeld and went the opposite! So shove that idea!!

Over the 10+ years we've done this, weeks like this often toss up 5 or 6 road winners. It's just the nature of the beast and this tipping comp is best described as beastly And it's rare to have only 2 or 3 road winners but when that does happen, it's often when there are 5 or 6 standout road chances who fall short The unknown factor is when a team (or teams) make 1 or 2 fatal errors which leads to a 1 or 2 TD's. As we're all aware, turnovers often decide the games It's just a matter of finding 3 in a very tough week but even 2 out of 3 this week gets you 2 points One-out = 8 points!!

The Ravens looked great and even though they were playing at home, they dismantled a hot team in the Bills comprehensively Vikings, Bucs, Falcons, Bengals & Texans all had important wins. KC & the 49ers won as expected But the big mover is Washington with 449 yards on offense with overall no.2 pick in the 2024 draft Jayden Daniels playing his part The Eagles & Dallas have suddenly got some competition in the NFC East

Clintosaurus & ElDiablo14 scored the maximum 3 points to gain ground this week in the tipping comp The rest of us either got 1 point or none with 2 participants banking on the Titans tomorrow to gain a point More later but next week all points scored are doubled, so 3 winners will net you 6 or maybe even 8 points Leaderboard Tipping Comp (Points scored this week in brackets) 11 - DemonDave (0) 6 - Go the Biff (1), DeeSpencer (1), Macca (1) 5 - layzie (Titans win to advance to 6 points) 5 - Clintosaurus (3) 4 - ElDiablo14 (3), BDA (1) 3 - Dr.Gonzo (Titans win to advance to 4 points) 3 - JC7 (0), titan_uranus (0), Gorgoroth (1), Dee Zephyr (1)

  20. Came across 3 new Sci-fi series that have got me hooked after just 1 episide. With a heavy accent on the psychological, mystery and thriller with quite dark elements Dark Matter (Aussie Joel Edgerton stars) Severance (Ben Stiller Directs) The Penguin (just released) (Colin Farrell) .
  21. Correct ... the Demons won our first flag at the old East Melbourne ground (1900) and a number of other venues have been used for the GF including the Lake Oval, Junction Oval & Princes Park In a parallel universe the GF might have been played at all sorts of different venues if not for the MCG contract So, it doesn't matter where you play the GF, as long as you win it! That's all that matters

Yes, your defence won the game for you. Giants receivers couldn't create seperation (when it mattered) and your run defence was far too good for the Giants running game
  23. What stands out about the 2021 Premiership was how well our forward line performed And how open our forward line was largely on the back of really quick ball movement forward (using the corridor on many occasions) Fritsch's GF was a great example. The ball was kicked to him for about 8 one-on-one's. He won the ball 7 times for a return of 6 goals 1 Behind On top of that Brown & T-Mac played their roles well as KPF's with the other forwards chipping in when required Now that is what you call efficient scoring and it was a joy to watch We need to get back to playing that way as we've got the talent to do so (when fit)

Reminds me of the Demons forward line going into the 2023 finals It's hard to win without attacking weapons especially when it's multiple players The NQR replacements are just that, NQR
  25. If the Lions get excellent production out of Hipwood & Daniher, they'll win. They can win without them firing but they'll be doing it the hard way instead Taking the heat in the hotspot area of the forward line as well as gaining possessions, playing in front, bringing the ball to ground front & centre and putting their bodies on the line etc etc But most of all, hitting the scoreboard Do all that with the other forwards chipping in and they'll be hard to beat Talented key forwards who produce the goods are worth their weight in gold in September Something we were sadly lacking in the finals series in 2023. And it cost us We had no one doing all that in the Carlton SF and only JVR in the QF (and therefore, by default, too much was placed on the shoulders of a player in his 20th game) Hipwood & Daniher are seasoned campaigners and that makes all the difference
