  1. Aren't the races from Sha Tin on the free-to-air channel?
  2. Well I got my days total outlay back on the 4th race Trifecta ... % only but I'm now playing with house money with bets already laid. I should just bet at Sha Tin and have the odd flutter in the local races here in Australia (Group 1's) Not every week but there's usually 2 or 3 good trifecta races on up there most weeks. Beauty Generation won with real class in the just completed G1 Mile ... just missed on the trifecta but 2 races to go Wadda. The Sprint race is up next. Lets see how good this Ivictory is up against Mr Stunning & Beat the Clock. It would want to be good to beat those 2.
  3. Demons get a win! ... albeit against average opposition. Still, there are a stack of average sides in the league. And the good teams aren't that good. Anyway, what was that line out of 'Hotel California'? "You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!" Next Weekend's Group 1's (Overseas) USA Kentucky Derby 2000m 3yo SW (Sunday Morning) USA Woodford Reserve Turf Classic 1800m WFA(Sunday Morning) UK Newmarket 2000 Guineas 1600m 3yo SW(Sunday Morning) UK Newmarket 1000 Guineas 1600m 3yo Fillies SW (Monday Morning)
  4. Here are the early odds for the 2 Group 1's next Saturday at Morphettville ... a much better choice for our trifecta type race in my opinion. The fields will no doubt be reduced although 20 horses did run in the G1 Sprint last year whilst only 14 ran in the 2017 G1 Australasian Oaks ...
  5. I'm not sure I want to mozz them Wadda but I'll post up my 3 possible winners in each of the 3 Group 1 races - they are all quite obvious but I always hope for my 3rd fancied runner to win (highlighted) I'll add a couple of placegetters and box the 3 first choice runners in each race in a separate bet ...to stave off punters lament. Race 6 - Beauty Generation, Season's Bloom, Singapore Sling Race 7 - Mr Stunning, Beat the Clock, Ivictory Race 8 - Ping Hai Star, Time Warp, Al Ain
  6. Leather & Lace got up for 3rd ... the winner too good (one of the 'other' Weir horses) I've had a couple of ok collects today but my main aim was always Sha Tin tomorrow. Quietly confident of getting a few reasonable returns if things fall my way.
  7. Nice dividend too Wadda - well done! It was a tricky race but we nearly got it ... 1st, 2nd & 4th is always the worst possible outcome. Mister Sea Wolf was never in it whilst we probably all looked at McCreery. Well you did anyway ?
  8. Sedanzer had a dream run and had clear air but ... needed the run. Isn't hindsight a wonderful aid?
  9. Excellent choices there DZ ... the right configuration of our picks could pay reasonably well. Here it is in full. Hawkesbury Race 7 The Hawkesury Cup ... W/2/3 ... No.2 Equador W/2/3 ... No.6 Mister Sea Wolf W/2/3 ... No.7 Kingsguard 2/3 ........ No.3 Duca Valentinois 2/3 ........ No.11 Plaisir
  10. So our trifecta (Hawkesbury Race 7) reads as ... W/2/3 ... No.2 Equador W/2/3 ... No.6 Mister Sea Wolf W/2/3 ... No.7 Kingsguard 2/3 ........ ????????????? 2/3 ........ ????????????? Over to you @Dee Zephyr to close the deal.
  11. Safari JJ's tips are up on Racing.com (click on 'Tips' - above right)
  12. I much prefer your summation Wadda ... it's all about the money and you offer better odds!
  13. So our 3 best bets are ... Hawkesbury Race 6 No.10 Sedanzer (4.60) Caulfield Race 5 No.3 William Thomas (3.20) Caulfield Race 6 No.1 Sunset Watch (1.95) That's a tidy 28-1 right there. Best Bet Strike Rate 44: 20 - 9 - 2
  14. Ping Hai Star is going to be hard to beat but 'Time Warp' is a proven Group 1 performer & the Japanese runner 'Al Ain' could be thereabouts as well. And who knows with 'Pakistan Star'? All 3 big races have a number of top performers engaged.
  15. You could give Ladbrokes a call Wadda but Day/Ruffles have blown out in the odds anyway ... the other 3 picks have more relevance and you could add-on to the 3 picks or delete 1 or 2 that don't your fancy. I got 17-1 (boosted) for the 3 picks at Ladbrokes and I'm happy with that.
  16. Yeah Ivictory broke the course record for 1200m at its last start at Happy Valley (01.08.52) but ... its up against the Group 1 horses for the first time. And the Group 1 horses have run similar or better times at Sha Tin. Some have run around 01.08.00 flat. This is a classic reason why I prefer trifectas. I get 'em all running around for me! (well, not all Wadda) I reckon Ivictory can get into the finish but so can about 4 or 5 other horses (especially Mr Stunning & Beat the Clock) It should be a cracking race, all the same. The Mile race & 2000m Group 1 races on the card have similar back stories. Here are the 3 races ... The Champions Mile The Chairman's Sprint The Audemars Piguet Qeil Cup The racing never ends for me ... as of next week Morphettville and Dommben get into full swing and then there's all the big group racing from Europe that starts up next week as well (and that lasts for 4 or 5 months with 1 or 2 Group 1 races every week) It's good therapy and a good distraction if the footy team isn't traveling well ?
  17. Sportsbet & the TAB have both got the first 5 available in the golf ... Ladbrokes may well have it up tomorrow.
  18. The 4 picks are in and here they are Wadda ... in order of when the events are decided. Geelong (1-39) vs Sydney $2.10 (Sat 1.45pm) Crusaders (1-12) @ Brumbies $3.75 (Sat 7.30pm) Boston Celtics (-4.5) vs Milwaukee Bucks $1.95 (Sun 10.10am) Day/Ruffles (Top 5) it is a pairs event) Zurich Classic $6.00 (Monday morning) Adds up to 92-1. Cashing out before the golf is an option or 2 separate bets (first 3 events & all 4)
  19. My best bet for the weekend is at Hawkesbury as well ... Hawkesbury Race 6 (The Godolphin Crown) ... No.10 Sedanzer ($4.60 win & $1.85 place) It is a very consistent horse that could have easily won its last 5 races. It finishes off its races well. It's a decent field but the horse has drawn the 3 gate and is trained by Gai Waterhouse.
  20. I've got no issue posting the 4pick up Wadda and my mates are welcome to tell their mates as well. The mate who does NRL also sometimes does AFL or Soccer. The American sports mate really knows his stuff (across the 4 big sports) With the golf mate it's a top 5 position only (not the winner) His theory is that a number of the better golfers will rally late. I don't follow golf closely so I defer to his knowledge. I reckon 4 picks is enough in a multi especially if there is individual value in each pick ($3+) If I get a chance I'll post up the 4 picks sometime after they all come in. I do a 1-12 or 13+ margin pick with Super Rugby as I rarely miss with the actual winner ... I also look for a bit of value. No risk, no reward. After Super Rugby I concentrate on the Internationals & Six Nations.
  21. I'm putting together a 4 pick multi on weekends where myself and 3 mates have 1 pick each. Similar to what we do here with our best bets. No luck first time up last weekend but they're all keen to continue it on ... we all specialise in different sports ... I'm Super Rugby, one is NRL, one is American sports and the other is AFL or golf (of all things!) It's based on all participants having one good thing every weekend and then working as a team.
  22. You've got to laugh at some of the comments made about a horses chances. They will quite often talk up a horses chances and then finish off with "Not in this" Or talk down a horses chances and then end with "Should win" The weight comments are often only referring to 1kg or disingenuous ones where there is an obvious anomoly.
  23. Before that last race it was carrying weight and racing quite well. Its last run was in the Doncaster hcp where a lot of good horses got in at low weights
  24. The Group 1's are back on next week so the Hawkesbury Cup will have to do Wadda My tip is Mister Sea Wolf to win ... so its that and Equador so far Over to you BM
  25. @Wadda We Sing Do you want to kick things off again re the trifecta?
