  1. And 'Behave' gets pipped by a bees nostril ... I don't how punters can ever win betting on these short-priced favourites. Even in multi's they are a risk (and often part of another donation) Thank goodness for the cash-out option! As it turned out Alizee & Avilius stood above the others today whilst 'Lyre' was another standout pick following on from its last start win. Jury well and truly out on Nature Strip, Zousain & Tassort whilst The Autumn Sun can race a lot better. Might have needed the run though.
  2. I'm always suspect about the shorties in Adelaide ... most of the races are BM64's or BM70's so even the odds-on chances aren't all that good anyway. That's where the expertise of JJ is paramount - I wouldn't bet at Morphettville otherwise. I prefer the tips he gives where he finds a horse that can beat the favourite. I then put a small amount to win or take a small exacta. I turn an ok profit with his picks (generally)
  3. You've just mozzed my chances ... don't you know the rules? I'm continually having to educate you lot! ?
  4. Hope you got on Wadda - ran well did Ace High. Avilius the class act of course ... tracked up nicely behind Trap for Fools and won easily. Another win for the team here ... I used Avilius as a banker for a few multi's but most fell by the wayside. Still got 1 going so here's hoping.
  5. Booker wins the Oakleigh Plate - won well. Nature Strip disappointing - another hot favourite fails to get into the finish. Multi punters are no doubt doing their money by the truckload.
  6. And that's racing mate ... those incidents happen as a matter of course and that's the main reason that I prefer the exotics. With racing, nothing surprises me. And as previously noted here, when we do win those incidents often happen to other horses which helps us win ... again, that's racing.
  7. Had a saver on 'Lyre' so got the collect ... Athiri had every chance but 4th ain't 3rd. There were a number of other disappointments - Loving Gaby, Catch Me, Brooklyn Hustle & Vinicunca amongst them. Felt sure I'd get the exacta but I'll take the win.
  8. For the team yeah ... it's not about me.
  9. Yep ... they ran over 2 seconds faster in the Futurity as opposed to the CF Orr Stakes Wadda. A truly run race where the best horse won (Alizee) And that suited Hartnell as the horse is all class. Won the Epsom last Spring running a very slick 01:32.73 for the mile so there's still a fair bit of life in the old boy. An 'A Day at the Races' favourite without a doubt.
  10. The big boy got up for 3rd ... there's a collect on the place. Nice work Wadda Got it going in the multi as well of course. What a horse is Hartnell! Full credit to Alizee though - the horse is a top rater.
  11. Made hard work of it the champ (The Autumn Sun) ... is it the same horse? Next up is the Randwick Guineas in 2 weeks time. Not sure the horse will start at prohibitive odds though. One might get $3 or a shade better.
  12. Who are these people with all that expendable income? haha The horse (Zousain) was rated nearly 30 points better than its rivals but you'd never know that watching the race. The Autumn Sun next up and its trial form has been ordinary. Should have too much class in this race though.
  13. The Caulfield track is racing well as it often does ... Moonee Valley is more often than not a leaders track and we should bet that way accordingly (as a general rule) Caulfield is not in that category. We've got the speed maps to help us at the Valley and Caulfield so in all actuality, there are no excuses. But there again, I don't like looking for excuses. The risk is always my risk. Anyway, 3 red-hot favourites have bitten the dust now (Melb & Syd) ... Zousain run into 2nd in the Zeditive but the horse never really looked like it. $1.45 is crazy odds anyway. Not sure that Zousain is that good a horse after that effort. Didn't get my money Wadda - just an observation.
  14. Morphettville Race 8 No.12 Behave ($2.30) ... too short for me although maybe in a multi with something else is the go. 2 hot favourites beaten at Rosehill already (Burning Crown & Tassort) More multi money for the Bookies. And that's apart from the big money laid on for the win on both those horses.
  15. You mean the racing channel Wadda ... yeah saw that and we didn't get JJ's tips as he is hosting (again) Instead of that we got Shane Adair's tips and he is like a stand-in for Sir Lawrence Olivier at a West End play!
  16. Ha ha ... can't see that happening even if he was a Demon supporter! In fact, of all the Demon mates and acquaintances I have, I'm not sure any of them have even heard of Demonland Different circles Wadda
  17. Well there's false favourites and other horses that seem like they are 'overs' ... the late money or lack of late money is often an accurate factor too. I've got a cousin who was formerly a leading bookmaker (retired now) and I reckon they know a lot more than we know. Their very existence is primarily based on getting the numbers right. The bookies would be loving all the money on the shorties ... they will almost certainly know that they can't all win and of course they can lay-off anyway. Punters are attracted to the short odds as well as the value. Multi's in horse racing are in the bookies favour too - offering the early cash-out isn't necessarily of benefit to the punters either. It's a way for the bookies to cut their losses. And multi's are hard to get anyway (especially with the horses) There's a lot of small donations that add up to a large total!
  18. What surprises me is how short a number of the favourites are Deeza ... nearly all of the shorties are up against any number of other quality horses in each of the 10 races where they are hot favourites and as we know, bad luck and interference can happen in any given race. For instance, if Nature Strip misses the start by even a fraction of a second, that might put pay to the horses' chances of winning. It has great early speed but it sometimes jumps a bit tardy. Big field with a lot of early speed - Nature Strip needs to jump well. And sometimes drawing an inside barrier might also mean that a horse needs to be ridden for luck (unless that horse has good gate speed) A good day for the exotics I reckon! n.b. JJ might be hosting from Morphettville again today as his tips haven't been posted up on Racing.com ... ugh.
  19. Avilius (no.8) is actually in race 9 (Peter Young Stakes) not race 8 anyway Wadda ... you may be thinking of Alizee in race 6. I get both horses mixed up as well sometimes - I'll leave it to you to figure out the combined odds ?

I've got my NBA tip worked out ... either a Sunday AEDT game or a Monday AEDT game. Might wait until you fellas ( @Wadda We Sing @Dee Zephyr ) have posted up your 'bests'. Or @binman if you are interested in chiming in. n.b. the exotic odds for NBA games are often not available until the early evening (AEDT) for games played on the following morning/afternoon (again, AEDT) My 'best' will almost certainly be a 'wire-to-wire' result.
  22. Not your favourite track Wadda? haha There's probably a way to work out a race at the Valley but I'm stumped if I know what that is ... even Gator struggles there and you can tell that he gets frustrated with the way the racing pans out at MV. I had a few bets and broke dead-even on the night ... but I'll take that as a win! (got an ok collect in the lucky last) We've talked about this before but my 3 favourite tracks are Flemington, Randwick and then Rosehill. Morphettville too but mainly because of JJ's expertise.
  23. Brett Prebble rides 'Embrace Me' to victory in the Typhoon Tracy Stakes in a big boilover. And all 4 of the fancied runners failed to get into the first 4 (which paid close enough to 27k) Didn't see that coming ... there again, the Valley can often throw up these sorts of results.
  24. Yeah welcome back BM And as Wadda mentioned ...to save any double-ups just do a quick scroll if you can (on the best bets) You won't have to scroll back very far ... usually on the same page. For instance, we had Osborne Bulls in the Lightning last week so that race was already being used ... unless you get in first of course! Good punting!
  25. You should be getting a total of 6 odds boosts per day at Laddies ... 2 win, 2 multi & 2 exotic But you can't use the same team or horse more than once to get the boost Look in the 'Bet Slip' area (top right) or do a dummy bet using 'add to bet slip' to find
