Interesting development David Gately has joined the Sky team so we won't see him on the racing channel from here on in. Still posts his tips up on Best Bets and today, the racing channel no longer refers to Gators tips - instead they are calling them the Best bets tips.

That was nerve-wracking! What an absolute wonder horse - the mighty Winx! Joins the ranks of Bernborough, Carbine, Phar Lap, Tulloch, Makybe Diva & Black Caviar - all champions in their respective era's. Sunline as well maybe. Vain was great too. I've put Harlem into a F4 but I'm only having a bet in the race because it's the last time we will see Winx race ... unless of course the connections change their minds!

Too good, too classy was Verry Elleegant. Another great prospect for the future Wadda Winx retires and then the onus goes to 7 or 8 very good horses that are a notch below ... the way things normally are/were before Black Caviar & Winx. As a punter, I prefer the latter situation but as a horse racing enthusiast, I prefer the former arrangement. And the horse racing enthusiast in me wins out. We are going to miss Winx once it is retired ... I would have preferred another Spring campaign and a 5th Cox Plate but it's not a perfect world.

She did whack that metal gate/fence very hard ... probably of no concern but it's the first slight hiccup since the horse was locked away on the inside in the Turnbull last Spring.

I think BM meant his 'other' bets at Randwick And if it is a swoopers track, Winx should win in a canter ... drawn the outside barrier too so ideal

His best bet got scratched out of the 6th race Wadda (Cool Passion) I do multiple exactas/trifectas so I look at all 4 of his tips in any given race ... but I only bet on the good betting races so if there is a shortie in any given race, I ignore the race.

I've done the early double from our 3 picks again Wadda (Saccharo & Dubhe) I don't want to be posting up 'That's 2 from 2!' without having a small wager on that possible/probable outcome. Isn't it great to go into the weekend with the job done! A terrific performance, right across the board. We brought energy, application, effort and were highly motivated. Our out-of-form players stepped it up and we just willed ourselves across the line. We were not going to get beaten tonight. Season back on track - away from home, under seige and we get it done. Not so long ago we were incapable of bouncing back like we did tonight. The talent is there. Tackling and pressure first rate, kicking to position very good and all of our players contributed. We bring that type of game on a regular basis and we will win more games than we lose this season. One win can change everything - confidence & belief returns thus winning against any team is possible. Anywhere, anytime.

Apart from Jones ... Harmes, Melksham, Petracca, T-Mac, Jetta, Hibberd & Viney aren't doing anywhere near enough as well Salem & Gawn can play better too. That is 10 senior/best players not playing up to scratch. In a nutshell, that is the issue. 3 other automatics are injured ... Lever, May & Lewis ... thus creating undue pressure on an undermanned defence. Our defence is also under seige because of our issues further afield.

Gets away from you doesn't it Wadda I remember just before posting my first post that I had zero chance of getting to 100 ... all these years later I'm pushing it up to 10,000! What the hell happened? ha ha But I enjoy the banter and of late, have avoided any sort of angst. The other sports threads and the music threads have kept me here. Especially our 2 threads.

And if I recall correctly, there was no betting conducted on the Kreuzer cup either ... that was announced on the Tuesday prior. You can't imagine that ever happening now. But again, washed over. Should have been called the Judd cup because that was the real prize (Judd was actually tanked for twice - that's something he could tell his grandchildren) Tanking was so widespread back then yet our sporting media never spoke about it (at all) ... apart from the odd snickering disguised jibe. It went from that to an isolated super-serious investigation with our team being singled out. And people wonder why footy is described as lies.

Yeah, happy to do a midweeker occasionally Wadda ... maybe when there's some big-time sport on like Champions League or NBA, NHL finals et al. I like the team pick rather than my own judgement too - just the 1 pick suits as I normally see one choice jumping out at me! Wednesday into Thursday suits too rather than Tues/Wed. We could just have a go where we see fit. The Ice Hockey & NBA finals start soon and both sports have 2 months of playoffs. And there is still a fair bit of big-time soccer to come.

Most of our good players aren't playing very well or aren't playing ... that is what the meeting would be about (IMO) More so the form rather than the availability of talent. But keep it in house ... we've got a tough game away on Thursday and Sydney will bring their best now (again, IMO) I just don't believe in giving a sucker an even break ... agree with the honesty session/crisis talks though. We have to get our year going.

If it is a thing it should have been kept in house. Not sure it is the right time either if complacency is the issue.

Imagine if the strike rate was 1 in 4 Wadda? The punter in me thinks it's possible for a 3pick and down the track, we might just find a way. Remembering that we only have to come up with 1 choice each. And it's a 2-horse race. There's got to be a way!
