  1. Max Max Gawn is the difference between us winning and losing, I’m not looking forward to seeing the hit out to advantage differential, if we do win it will be a Herculean effort. I’m hopeful but not expecting. Based on last years game vs Dees, and the fact he has been made an emergency, it wouldn't surprise me to see Baily come in as a late change to do a job on Gawn. I recall last year in the game where we beat them, Bailey put a lot of work into Gawn off the ball, he constantly blocked and bumped him and stopped him from easily running to positions to intercept- almost like a scragging tag. Really put him off his game and reduced his effectiveness, even if he didnt win the hit outs. Ill be looking for similar tactics to annoy the [censored] out of him and shift his focus. When it's such a big discrepancy in quality in ruckman it's actually easier to plan for. Midfield sets up to rove to Max's taps everytime and Baileys job was just to put some physicality into him Everything else Hough in the midfield is exciting because he isn't a panic merchant. Would seem a good matchup for Petracca We're not allowed to talk about weights anymore so I wouldn't know They are both beautiful on the inside. Well maybe not Trac after King's Birthday last year. Too soon? Sure I Saw Steven May wandering through the city last night. Didn’t expect to see Melbourne players in so early, thought they’d have flown in today. Unless he came in seperately. Did he take a swing at you? That's a good sign, when we beat them last I saw Gawn, and two other Demons walking along Railway Pde in West Leederville. Going to be really grim if we cannot put in a cracking showing. That being said, I think we do it to the Demons again with: May moving like a 60 year old McGovern Trac being Reid's bunny Gawn being Flyin's launch pad Fritsch burning his team mates left right and centre Petty being the biggest source of falling moisture on Optus this Saturday And most importantly, they won't have any footy boots after Oliver confused what was actually in the "Gear Bag", when he pinched off the bus before they left to go to the airport. Dees are the only team ranked worse than us in 4th quarters this season West Coast by 45. Harley 3 Votes. Owies to have a break out game. Oliver out is massive. He’s not had his greatest year but he’s their best clearance player by a mile. Not beyond realms of possibility we get up this week His clearances have usually involved blindly bombing it long to the oppositions defenders though. Coach has some inside knowledge on Melb, albeit a changed game style now. If we're gonna win a game in the first half of the season it's this week or next. Melbourne are barely going themselves Dees to leave the chocolate cake out and the Eagles to come out to play
  2. Healey would be close to the last person i'd been taking draft advise from.
  3. Was he still referring to the ground at this point?
  4. Go easy on MAFS and WWE please @Mel Bourne and @layzie. At least on MAFS the breakdowns are scheduled and in WWE the tackles stick.
  5. Can someone please publish the two minute mark to the 17 minute mark of the third quarter ladder?
  6. I won't say anything is case I say something . . . other than Kim and Kanye are poor role models.
  7. I also have severe queries over Langford. For example, will he win 3 or 5 best and fairests, 4 or 6 All Australians, 1, 2 or 3 premierships. And of course anything less than a couple of Brownlows is a bust.
  8. I'm happy to take a day off work and walk him through the Demonland threads over the last 12 months. He'll then be ready to pick the team for the Meth Coke game this weekend.
  9. Same here @DistrACTION Jackson - still waiting too. Might be delayed — Carlton’s still working out which end of the phone to talk into, and Norf are arguing over who gets to use the last working Nokia.
  10. Tonight’s game revealed a grammatical tragedy of Shakespearean proportions (where's @Ghostwriter in an emergency like this?) "No Bontempelli; No Bulldogs" — tight, mournful, the stuff of banners and battle cries. "Yes Bontempelli; Yes Bulldogs" — sounds like a bad motivational poster found in the general manager's office. "Eventually it’ll just be silence — no Bontempelli, no Bulldogs, no meaning — just the wind" — We are all mad, insane with the hopelessness of trying to find meaning where there is none. Dostoyevsky
  11. Calm down on the whole dog's breakfast shtick — calling it that is an insult to dogs everywhere. The old VFA might’ve been broke, brawling and slightly feral, but at least it had a soul. Now it’s just AFL seconds wrapped in plastic, pretending it’s still a competition. Springvale in the mud had more dignity than half the fixtures they serve up these days.
  12. Is anyone else finding it hard to hear the commentators and on-ground interviews over the crowd noise lately? It feels like the crowd is cranked up so much that you can barely make out what’s being said. Foxtel is bad, but I've virtually given up on hearing anything on Shamble 7.
  13. Just a final reflection on Ben McKay @Go the Biff and @BoBo, - he is not inside the top 150 players in the comp. Yet North got pick three as compensation for him. Get your head around that 🥇. Everyone gets a participation medal.
  14. i watch the roos every week. he was horrendous.
  15. It's election season. But keep in mind, the further left he shanks, the closer to the right he eventually emerges. It takes time though.
  16. The Russian's know of matters concerning the human soul.
  17. 6 Max 5 TMac 4 Sparrow 3 Langers 2 Bowza 1 Trac
  18. On the 10th anniversary of the Dismissal, Gough was asked his opinion of Malcolm Fraser. His response, "Malcolm Fraser, much improved".
  19. “Every man looks out for himself, and he has the happiest life who manages to hoodwink himself best of all.” Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment
  20. Raskolnikov in Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment sums up my relationship with the Dees over 50 years . . . “We always imagine eternity (a premiership dynasty) as something beyond our conception, something vast, vast! But why must it be vast? Instead of all that, what if it's one little room, like a bath house in the country, black and grimy and spiders in every corner, and that's all eternity is? I sometimes fancy it like that.”
  21. We are a solid bottom six team at best. Stunning how we blew up an era.
  22. I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
  23. Don’t be mistaken, don’t be misled, They toast their bread but not their head. They scream out “ball!” with beer in hand, Then start a brawl in Shame Warne's stand. The filters on 'Land don't let me publish most of their trash.
  24. I’d play Balta v Dees. Sub him off at 3/4 time…or get him an apartment next to the ground and make sure he is tucked in bed by 10pm imagine jacinta if we did this ? Doubt there will be many changes apart from Ryan (injured) & Balta (curfew) I don't think we'll ever see (curfew) next to a players name ever again lol The key to the match will whether Richmond can apply enough pressure to Melbourne's midfield to pressure forward entries and to create turnovers. The more than likely that Melbourne will win the clearance battle. Dees will be up for this one. Think we only win by 20-30 Trainor to start to get the job on Kosi Pickett Cant send Sims in to ruck against Gawn Can Nank get a hold of Max Gawn finally this week? I know Gawn was last week but Nankervis has had a better season. I feel like Nank run him into the ground be physical and get him this week. The Dees are actually very small up front, with JVR their only key forward (and he's also second ruck). Probably means Trainor will come into the 22 for Balta. Petty has killed us before and he played well last week. JVR got dropped, doubt he comes back given they won. This is our bloody Grand Final for once. Vlaustin will put Kozzy on the first flight over to WA.
