You have skin in the game @Demon Time. I'm taking your recommendation seriously :-).
  2. Package him up with Grundy and swap them for a pick in the 30's.
  3. By any definition, traded out means: Barter arrangement in which goods or services are exchanged for other goods and services. So yes, we traded them out. The definition of elite athlete is disputed and there is no universally accepted definition. By some definitions, both JJ and Bedford are elite athletes. Refer: www.bases.org.uk/imgs/51_article_p6527.pdf. Champion data defines elite as a player being in the top 10 percent of players in a defined category. This means that there are approx. 80 players in the AFL that, by Champion Data definitions, are elite runners. JJ has run with some of the best players in the comp this year including Daicos, Neale and Merrett. They would be considered elite by Champion data I would have thought. Respectfully, I maintain my point still stands, elite runners are everywhere - including in the Melbourne reserves in 2023. Replacing ANB with another so called elite runner, with potentially a better range of skills, shouldn't be too hard to achieve I wouldn't have thought.
  4. I take almost all your points Rubbish Binny (my affectionate name for you). Thanks for the considered response. I would argue, however, that elite runners "do grow on trees". How is it that Melbourne traded two of them out who were considered not in our best 22 for the proverbial steak knifes? Surely if they were so important and rare we at least get a steak sandwich on glutton free bread with the steak knives?
  5. There's only ever two realistic bidders for the FTA AFL and NRL rights. Those organisations do alright. And if ANB as valuable as many seem to think (e.g. significantly increases Port's chances of a flag or Crom's changes of a top eight finish), a deal gets done.
  6. Friday, 15 September, 2023 at around 10:20pm.
  7. It will be interesting then to see how the market determines his value.
  8. For goodness sake - I love Nibbler for all the reasons others have noted. But let's be realistic, there are dozens of players in the comp that can do what he does. It's not like we are loosing Vines or Trac for instance.
  9. Freeo - the place good footballers go to die.
  10. Psssf . . . still haven't let go of Matthews ironing our Ellingworth.
  11. How many time in his career has he "bang(ed) 2-3 goals in one quarter"?
  12. Took them 10 years. And there's no evidence that the current list is anything but promising.
  13. Take some of your gloating money and invest it in psychoanalyst.
  14. There's no 'might' about it.
  15. Absolutely no doubt about that.
  16. I went to the rugby game instead. Lots of forward passes missed by the ref.
  17. How did the Dees go tonight . . . anyone watch the game? I ended up watching a fairly ordinary game of rugby union instead. High scoring game actually - shed-load of forward passes missed by the ref though.
  18. Same, same @The heart beats true. When I moved to part-time work from full time, it just ratified the existing arrangements.
  19. We should have bought in someone like Fullerton. He might have been worth a punt.
  20. If I'm Norf and TMac is available - he gets two years and a trigger for a third.
  21. Perfect apprenticeship for the seniors at Melbourne I would have thought.
  22. Are you planning on going straight anytime soon @Red But Mostly Blue?
  23. Can be quick painful that.
  24. Um, only Hardwick, Voss, Fly and Scott.
  25. Absolutely not true. He was abominable against Essendon in his second career game in 2014.
