Stay classy, the ability of the player determines how bad the act is does it. Pathetic

Agree, rember the talk about the Hawks with Mitchell, O'Meara into their midfield. Buddy and Tippett at Sydney. The Eagles got Kelly, but gave up a hell of a lot for him, which may hirt in a few years
-
Oh please, all the Kopites have very short memories no uproar when Stevie G ended Naysmiths career.
-
Eagles midfield was talked up as close to perfect with the inclusion of Kelly for 2020. Things don't always end up as the media predicts. On paper they will look formidable with Hawkins and Cameron but footy isn't played on paper. He'd want to play with greater urgency than he did this season for them to be formidable

Let's bring logic into this Jaded, it doesn't fit with what people want too see -
I'd take Gawn over Nic Nat any day, however Nic Nat for me was the standout ruckman this season, his work around the clearances is massive. He benefited more than anyone from the reduced quarters because it didn't expose his major weakness of not having the tank to run out full quarters and opposition ruckman hurting him all over the ground.

Is Lachie Neale the best mid in the comp and is Boak the second best?
-
Neale, Boak and Trac are the common top 3 across most media outlets. There's always an outsider who goes close. I think Gaff will poll ver well and think Gray, SPP and some of Ports young brigade will take votes away from Boak, to see Trac jump him. I think Lyons, Mcluggage, Rich and Zorko may take votes from Neale but not enough. Top 6 1. Neale 2. Trac 3.Gaff 4. Boak 5. Danger 6. Mcrae

Full Review of the AFL called for by Swans and Hawks
Pennant St Dee replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Morning Old Dee, hope you are going well and the pending lifting of restrictions has brought a smile. I agree it is vitally important to remain frugal over the next couple of years till we are post Covid. I don't think the paying out of a contract will be as big an issue next season as it would this year. I understand from a good source there are KPI's within the contract. IMO the most important thing we do onfield is to sign the keys to long term deals and surround them with good foot soldiers. Oliver, Trac, Rivers and Jackson are the ones we need to lock in to 2025/6 moving forward I really hope 2021 allows you to get back watching live footy and reinvigorate your love of the game -
Full Review of the AFL called for by Swans and Hawks
Pennant St Dee replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Everything has changed with Covid. 12 months ago I could see only 1 change and that was 1 of the Suns or North relocating to Tassie. IMO that was still a fair way off My biggest concern is that Covid isn't going away and the financial impact on clubs it will have. Members stayed on board this year, but if it continues into 2021 with fans unable to get to attend matches, clubs will face financial crisis some will not recover from. I was fortunate enough to attend Amateurs and/or WAFL games every week in 2020. My two boys also managed to get scratch, home and away, finals and development games in. So we weren't impacted as much as those back in Melbourne/Victoria. I noticed a realisation by people/players on return from Covid interuption how much they loved/missed footy. I also noticed a distinct shift in many towards grass roots footy and an anger towards the AFL, with everything always being about them. Those of us involved in community footy have known about this for years but the awareness grew this year. The game as we know it is going to change. The TV deals, amount of clubs, how clubs function, second tier comps is all under review. I don't believe it's only us, Saints, North and Dogs under the pump. Some of the bigger clubs will also be under massive financial stress, which they can not recover from. 2021 and beyond will be interesting -

DD I'm not disputing the rumour is out there and back Chook in Perth. I'm just highlighting that Tom Morris is clearly sourcing his information from Demonland and then saying he's hearing. Amateur journalism (Good morning Tom) I'm still of the belief it's step one in his contract negotiations by his agent and the process of getting the best LTD for his client -

Yes I know, I also don't believe the Nev Jetta story. I love Nev, but hate to say time has just about caught up with him. No way Buckley and his FD haven't seen this either -

Still can't see anywhere in the article where she says she wants to go back to Perth. The article appears to be about highlighting her condition and how she's learnt to deal with the curveballs Covid and Cripps being in the Hub have thrown her way -

What do you mean by any other club, or as that wallowing in MFCSS. IMO we are not poorly managed and haven't been for a long time off field. Don't think for a minute with Viney is locked away the club aren't looking at renegotiating Olivers contract and probably have been for a while. I'm not sure I would be paying Oliver $900 over 5 years on current output, I love him but for that coin you want greater impact on the scoreboard. The club need to sit him down and state that to him, because he's not yet reached his peak and needs to have a Trac like impact (which he has the potential to have) from next season onwards. Those figures won't be that high for a player who has the potential he has -

I will say this now, Oliver's next deal will be his biggest and talk if salary cuts have already begun. I believe there are rumours floating around and it's more than likely coming from his camp. I don't believe there's anything to the rumours. I believe it's step 1 in getting the best deal for his client. This happens every year at every club -

Plays primarily forward but like Kossie and Ryan moves up the ground to he that link player. He's a small player compared to most of the boys but at 14 IMO will end up around the 180cm range. -

Not one for another 4 years but Subiaco Development Squad have got an absolute gun coming through. Malachi Champion, indigenous boy from Kalgoorlie small HFF, with pace, elite by foot, awareness, poise in traffic and fantastic decision maker. Watched him in training sessions and 2 games for the development squad last week and some of the things he did made a few keen track watchers stand up. Subiaco's talent manager had a grin like a Chesire cat. Champion has played vountry footy but is about to start at Aquinas College down in Perth next year definitely one to watch -
West Coasts midfield improved by moving Priddis and Mitchell in the same season they played Yeo more through the middle and were much quicker

Eagles for mine OD are the most hated. Not a fan of the manufactured franchises in GWS and GC either
