Gold time to close the thread with this parting post

Also posted this on Rhys Palmer thread, once again nothing concrete just more of the same media hyp without anyone naming or inferring to any reliable source. Brad Hardie & Karl Langdon interviewed Palmers Manager (Colin Young) this evening as Rhys could not talk after mad monday. They asked him about Rhys flying over tomorrow to be paraded on Thursday as new GWS signing. He said yes he was and they asked further would Tom Scully and Chad Cornes be there. Young did not answer at all in regard to Scully, just said I would be very surprised if Cornes is there. He elaborated further that since Silvagni took over his role he has targeted young players (as is well known) aged under 24 and Ruckmen aged between 24 to 26 years. After the interview Brad Hardie was adamant Scully was signed and he was delaying it as it was just part of saving face and his reputation to go along with the ruse of Scully not reviewing any contracts until season was over. More fuel to the fire and nothing concrete from Langdon asking Hardie further about why Scully had not come out since making this decision, Hardie just rehashed everything we have all read in the media. Until last week I was firmly in the I think he will stay camp but really unsure now, but I wont lose any sleep the club goes on either way.

Karl Langdon does the Sports today in Perth with Brad Hardie on 6PR(3AW sister station) and he has made remarks in the last couple of months that Palmer would be at GWS or maybe even Melbourne next year, didn't think anything of it but he has used the throw away line a couple of times about Palmer should move as he can't get a regular game. Don't see anything in it his disposal is terrible, but he is hard, honest and will run all day. He should come cheap but he is just another Bartram in my opinion, although in the year he won the Rising Star he was very good at clearances.

and you can add to that Hagdorn knows SFA about WA clubs or Footy in general.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - 2011 Season Wrap Edition
Pennant St Dee replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
GOG is right Robbie you need to take a breath, look I am as disapointed as we all are but the kids have had to take a fair amount of responsibility this year and we will see the benefits of that in the coming years. Your comparing us with North who never bottom out North will never be anything other than honest they will always be around the mark because they will only ever be average. Take Petrie out of heir side and throw him in our forward line this season and you would see a big difference straight away. If you can't see improvement in a lot of our younger guys this year than I do not know what you have been watching. The injury curse we copped around the time of the Adelaide win has had a big affect on our side. Jones has stepped up as a leader and Maloney but unfortunatley Green just seems a shadow of the player he was 12 months ago, I am willing to cut him slack as he has points in the bank. I have said in many posts this year the tide is turning the young guys are starting to take on a leadership roll but they are still only kids give them another season or two and then you will see a decent side for many years to come. Unlike North who will never be anything other than a team being 6-12th -
I am with you here, and he doesn't have the financial backing of Collingwoods footy department!
-
I appreciate he made this comment, but I believe it was before he was offered a 5 year big money deal, which may sway him some what. I know he will be a long shot but the Saints would not offer him a deal that will match ours.

Have to get Ross LYON best game day coach going around IMO
-
Tappy the sub, no emergencies brought in!

1)If you read it about three weeks ago on sportscene or whatevr Hagdorn writes on, take it as crap 2)The fact Woosha did not get the boot last year suggests enough that he is not under any pressure at WCE, the board and the fans love him and he is treated like a god. This season has done enough to get him another 3 year deal and he will not be sacked. He is a James Hird, Nathan Buckley of the Eagles in years to come he will be offered a role as footy development officer, director of coaching or one of these type of roles 3)Don't know Woosha personally, know a few family members and close friends. The way they and all others in WA footy circles speak of Wooshas bond to Eagles, I am pretty confident he will not ever go elsewhere.

Absolute crap, whoever mentioned these murmurings has their hand firmly on it! He will be at WCE until he retires

I take it you guys live in Victoria or at least not in WA, The Dees were not the only club to pass over Darling. He like the rest of West Coast have had a season no one expected, but very early to make such a call. How many times must it be said big men take a while. I follow West Perth in the WAFL and saw Darling play regularly and he was lazy, was an outstanding junior at Sorrento-Duncraig and early on when he was much bigger than the other kids. As the other kids got bigger it seemed from the outside that Darling was not prepared to put in the extra yards. This would have been clear to all recruiters which is why he went from prospective top 5 pick to late 20's. Darling has surprised me in his first season but I don't see much more improvement in him, Daniel Rich, Rhys Palmer stood out in their first season but were caught up to and passed very quickly. Making a judgement call between Darling & Cook this far out is crazy!

Have we learnt nothing, I want a winning mongrel culture at this club and every team who plays us to know they have been in a game! The change started when Bailey was sacked several people should have been put on notice. It's fathers day and all I want is a win. Pick 12 or pick 18 I don't really care if 2011 has taught us anything its that there are no guarantees with high draft picks!

+ 1 in case my post didn't explain it well enough I have moved on and am still the same as I was this morning red & blue till death

That's it now close the thread and all threads related to him if he is gone, he is no longer our concern. Surprised by his decision don't blame him but thought he was more professional than chasing the dollar. From here on in the number 31 must be earnt. If he is actually out for genuine reasons and stays then I will apologise in person

Goddard yes, Lake No we would be following in Brisbane of 2010 footsteps, Fev really undecided if we rookie listed him and put him on performance based 1 year deal maybe.

Let's bring John Butcher back home!

No way not after the way he has improved this season, different type of player but have a look at some old foortage of Dean Cox in 2003 when Gardiner injured his knee. He took a big step that year after being in the WAFL mostly before this and we all know where he went to from there. Would not like to take such a chance on Martin after the massive improvement he has shown this season. Spencer and some other seasoned players would be a better option in MHO -
I am swaying towards Ross Lyon or Mick Malthouse, but if we can't get one of them then I wouldn't mind Todd. I have liked a few of the smaller things I have witnessed over the last few weeks. Todd doesn't seem to be one to just say what seems the correct thing to say, calls a spade a spade and reputations ount for nothing. Small evidence of more man on man, defensive and accountable footy. Lets face it Viney would come a lot cheaper than Malthouse or Lyon but if this is the case the club should spend the same they intended on the other two using the extra money to surround Viney with experienced assistants, Laidley, Watters, Sanderson and also spend on football department

It wasn't just silly you halfwit, it was slanderous and vendictive. Do you realise the parasites of society AKA Craig Hutchinson & Damien Barrett troll through these sites before going to air spruiking of rumours they have heard from various sources. If your a member tear it up and f#%k off!

Another Hagdorn article, don't put to much creedance into anything this hack says
-
If the club calls a press conference early next week then Í'd expect he is gone. Case of thanks but the monies to good, want to take a new challenge etc and I think it's in the best interests to advise MFC as soon as possible so both parties can move on. If stretches out beyond that I think it's just a matter of sorting out clauses in the contract the club has offered him. Just MHO but time will tell, all will be revealed and the whole saga can be put to rest!

My Coaching strategy for 2012 and beyond
Pennant St Dee replied to Jack7's topic in Melbourne Demons
Have I missed something or has Ross Lyon ruled himself out altogether or signed a new contract at Saint Kilda -
Big talent and after 35 games, made me realise how raw he still is. I think some supporters have some unreasonable expectations on "The Cougar". He is not a KPF and we will see more from him once he has some bigger KPF taking the number 1 & 2 defenders. A lot of defences would struggle to match up on LJ as the 3rd forward
