  1. Don't agree Rusty I think the mid part of the season with the excessive travel and 6 day breaks had an impact. Another pre season + 20/30 games for our nucleus then you'll see the benefits of a structured plan
  2. His biggest assets are his leadership and composure. Especially for a player his age
  3. Torn on this one somewhat The first final and majority of the season shows you the reason why you steer clear. Not to mention his very inconsistent career to date. The last 2 finals and a stint during the year while Selwood was out show you the obvious benefits for taking a punt. As a FA the positive is not giving anything up. I'll leave this one up to the footy department
  4. Pretty sure he has a year to go
  5. I hate GWS they and the Suns are not football clubs. I was away on a dads and lads weekend last week surrounded by 20 odd Meth Coast supporters. Myself my boy and 2 of the other young lads were cheering for the Giants but this week I hope the Tigers belt the bejesus out of them
  6. Happy with this. Bernie is a good footballer and when he signs for another year and becomes depth in 2019 we will know we've arrived
  7. Still doesn't make it a fact Unsubstantiated fact at this point
  8. Id rather play Tiges Anzac Eve and play Pies Round 1 & QB
  9. Kent has had back issues which have impacted in his capacity to train and reach the desired fitness levels Just saying
  10. Haselby talks him up as well. The intensity on Sunday was a lot closer to AFL level then other WAFL games. Be great to see the kid step up, just not convinced
  11. For those above reasons locking in every year Round 1 & Queens Birthday vs Pies Anzac Eve vs Richmond Is massive for the club in terms of $$$ and player attraction/retention
  12. I watched the Prelim on Sunday Subiaco vs South Fremantle. Kelly was very poor especially when Subi inctreased their physicality and pressure on the ball carrier. One thing I took away from the game was Liam Ryan's second efforts and defensive pressure he applied. He had his usual flashes of brilliance but the other sides of his defensive game were not things I had seen him do before. Be interested to see how he goes in this week's GF
  13. Priddis was a good junior and the knock on him was pace and disposal at the nect level. His draft year was around the time clubs moved from taking footballers to taking athletic project types. He was dominant at WAFL and won state and Premierships standing out as an accumulator. Meth Coast drafted him in 2005 and he struggled to break into their Premiership midfield However he won the Sandover in 2006 and from 2007 onwards was a mainstay of their midfield. Wouldn't say he came from nowhere. Always a footballer and a player I really admire for his work ethic and getting the absolute best out of himself
  14. Beautiful and inspiring story
  15. Another 2 to 3 years and he will be in the elite category.
  16. Class Act and a great person who will not be lost to the game. Football is full of tales of injury cutting down young men and Jack joins that list. I have no doubt he will succed in whatever long term path he chooses Wish you all the best Trenners
  17. WAFL certainly not what it used to be many clubs struggling like the stand alone VFL Clubs. East Freo the once powerhouse have been down for a long time and are heavily in debt. Perth are also a long perennial struggler and local fans have lost faith with the WAFC who run the game here. Everything here is about the 2 AFL Clubs and around 2011/12 when the competition was starting to find its feet again with an even spread. The WAFC crumbled to Meth Coast and Freo pressure and decided to align the AFL Clubs which started in 2013 and the comp has been in decline ever since. There is a massive focus on draft numbers now but to muchb focus is towards developing elite top end talent which I understand somewhat but I feel we will see fewer late bloomers coming through the WAFL system. There is a decent group from WA coming through in the next couple of years but I hate to think how many real driven players who would run through brick walls will be lost through the elite pathways focus
  18. Don't think he can make it at the next level. Hasn't dealt well with close checking defenders.
  19. WA belted the VFL this year in a big surprise at Port Melbourne. The players used to be spread out here but Freo and Meth Coast got their wish in the end. Again to the detriment of the the local league. WAFL is on a very fast downhill slide to irrelevance and the comp will be dead within a decade if something isn't changed. I rarely get to WAFL games now and to be honest much rather enjoy watching amateurs now. Cheaper beer, good friends and decent quality competition
  20. I hope so Old Dee. Hes a good user of the footy and doesn't mind being a little nasty at times. Plays well in patches and shown glumpses of being a very capable component in transitioning off HB to our HF line. Will IMO become more consistent and develop a better game sense with experience and will eventually rotate through the middle and across HB
  21. Both WA sides have reserve teams Meth Coast are all playing at East Perth and missed finals Freo is Peel and made the GF last week after rolling Subiaco which caused a fair bit of controversy. They played 15 AFL listed players and the full time component stood out
  22. Was disappointed in his year but reality is like many on our list and part of the nucleus he is still a fair way from that benchmark 70-80 game mark to become a really consistent player. I can see him evolving into a Lewis type after another pre season or 2
  23. Shhh! Dockett they don't want to hear logic. I was depth the handwringers have spoken, case closed
  24. Oh for god sake just when the usual hand ringers were taking over the thread, along comes a supporter with common sense and consideration to contributing factors which effected the continuity of the AFL side and the subsequent domino effect to our VFL side.
