  1. Gawn. Dominated and clearly BOG for mine. Vince . Tough when it matted and kicking goals from the midfield Viney. Wow he is a machine Garlett. Had a big impact either kicking or creating goals Tyson. He makes a difference to the team when he is on Watts. He is becoming very consistent and on track for a great year
  2. Hunt with a huge clanger by handballing after a behind. Classic
  3. Hunt has done heaps of nice things and Gawn is BOG by a mile
  4. Vince is an auto in for Bayshaw who still looks off the pace. No other changes for mine.
  5. Goldsack a late out and White a late replacement from outside emergencies.
  6. Fantastic result. Hoping that either Oliver or Petracca takes out the award at the end of the year. It is great to see Melbourne have a mid like Oliver who can win the game of of his own boot. Bring on round 2.
  7. 6 Watts- his best game for the club. All of his possessions counted. Was involved when it mattered. 5 Viney- fantastic 50th. He is ready to take his game to the next level 4 McDonald T- all round strong game today. There were a still a few moments when he nearly got caught 3 Kennedy - was involved ina lot of our crucial plays 2 Oliver - wow what a debut. 1 Gawn - kept Mummy in check
  8. A game of 2 halves. Really enjoyed being at the game today despite being outrun in the 2nd &3rd. Oliver had an amazing debut. He looks a class above and I was surprised that they gave him centre square responsibilities. I don't recall Brayshaw starting in the middle at the start of last year. I had Watts BOG closely followed by Viney. Kennedy was outstanding in the last however went missing for parts of the game. The umpiring was extremely poor and Ray had a shocker. The Viney tackle was right in front of us and looked to me like a well executed tackle. Overall I think we were lucky with the win as GWS were killing us on the transition and appeared to always have more players around the ball. While we have added some speed, GWS are scary. I'm in Melbourne for the week so looking forward to round 2 before we head home.
  9. Loving being at the G round 1. Let's hope I am saying the same thing in a couple of hours time
  10. Got a lot of it. Not overly damaging with his disposal. His loopy handballs that gets team mates into trouble are still in his game. On the positive he didn't look restricted and ran the game out well
  11. Attended today and thought the Melbourne listed players easily stood out. Petracca and Weid did some nice things. There was a passage of play where Petracca had 3 or 4 touches within 30 secs as the ball was moved from d50 to f50. His intercept marking was also a standout. Trenners did some nice things. Hunt was involved and linked well with Petracca several times. Mitch White looked good and JKH was his usual busy self with some good side steps. Thought ANB and Brayshaw were quiet however I must admit I wasn't looking for them specifically
  12. I'm in Melbourne for round 1 and hope to watch this match to see JT9 in action
  13. Article on afl.com.au states that results from a scan today will be available tomorrow. Here's hoping for good news.
  14. My wife and I have been paleo for 9 months and it has made a big difference. I have lost 10 kgs and feel like I have a lot more energy. The downside of paleo is that it takes a lot of prep time. Cutting sugar out of your diet means you need to prepare most meals from scatch. We start the day with a green smoothie. Usually have a salad & protein for lunch and we have a lot of slow cooked meals with roast veggies for dinner. The usual stables are still good in a paleo version ie spag bowl with zucchini noddles. Lasagna using eggplant & mushrooms with cauliflower cheese.
  15. Hi Saty, any idea on which round Lumumba is aiming to return? With Melksham out for the year I think it is important that a few of he senior players that didn't contribute much last year really step up. Oliver appears to be doing a lot of running in the training reports. Is this injury related or are they managing work loads with his OP last year. I was originally hoping for an early debut however this doesn't seem likely now thanks
  16. Agree with this post. Hunt needs to find consistency at Casey. I am hoping he can complete a good block of form and break into the Seniors side early to mid season.
  17. Great to hear Roosy's Bruisers. I enjoyed your training reports last year.
  18. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-01-16/how-are-your-clubs-draftees-faring-during-their-first-afl-preseasons Clayton Oliver: Has demonstrated good pace and is a reasonable size but is likely to take time to be ready for senior football as he embeds good habits in preparation for his AFL career. Can any of the regular posters that attend training shed any light into the meaning of the above sentence? Other training reports were indicating an early season debut.
  19. Thank you so much for the live updates
  20. Great to have you back Satyr! Hunt is my smokey to have a big year. Look forward to your future training reports.
  21. Surprised that a top 10 has not been published by the club. Anyone know how many of the squad ran?
  22. I am really looking forward to seeing the Casey reports this year as there should be some very good footballers in the seconds. Oliver excites me as it will be interesting to see his improvement in an elite environment. His improvement between the end of the season and the combine was sensational. If he had that level of fitness at the beginning of the season would he have been the number 1 selection? I'm looking forward to future training reports and I am hopeful that similar to Brayshaw that he forces himself into the round 1 side.
