Hi Fanatique :) I'm hoping you or some kind Demonlander will advise how to get my watchafl working this year please? The club are useless so far. I renewed international membership March 7 and finally got my voucher code 7 hours ago (after only sending 3 emails, waiting an hour on hold to get no-one, missing the dogs game etc. etc.). Some options say the voucher isn't valid, another says it's already used, but still no watchafl for yours truly. I'm normally decent with websites, but this MFC one is full of catch 22's and inadequate navigational options, at least regarding this. Thanks very much

Yes rjay, I loved his enthusiasm with people, very social, loved the music scene, though understood little about actual music (I have stories about that too if you're interested). Yes I loved his sense of loyalty too. One day we were chatting in his office after numerous years apart overseas. He said, "We've fallen straight into talking together how we did when we spoke every day!" His memory was fantastic. We both remembered the same details from back in the day.

Haha. Good story Redleg. And exactly as I'd expect him to respond. Would he have been in 11th or 12th grade in 1968? I first met a 15-16 year old Michael Gudinski in 1968 at Bill Joseph's booking agency while seeking work for my new jazz/blues trio with pianist John Capek and my brother. We spoke awhile before he introduced Bill. So friendly, exuberant and positive throughout. Michaels last words to me that day were, "And I LOVE your Band!" Now he couldn't possibly have ever heard this latest band! We'd never done a gig, recording, TV show, nothing. So immediately I knew he was ABSOLUTELY FULL of it, but in the nicest possible way! Hahaha cheers

Thanks mate. I'll return your text or phone soon!

Hi Tim hardtack. Yes it is a shock. Back then I knew him well and was the first muso he signed to Mushroom records and Mushroom publishing. Mushroom also had easily the biggest booking agency (run by Adrian Anderson and Adrian Barker). He was very intelligent and with much energy. Even in the past decade he'd remind me to call if I wanted to bring anything out. I'm feeling a loss here. Yes he left us too soon Must crash, it's midnight here in LA. Cheers Tim and fellow Demonlanders ?

For gods sake why don't they have someone CALL the game!! would love to check out the new players, not sure who everyone is. A commentator would be 50 times better than their guests "just talking about footy". There's a game going on! Someone please call it!

Off-season outlook: Pressure will be on Melbourne and Simon Goodwin
Rob Mac...... replied to M_9's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree "rjay". It's fabulous that we've imported more footy nous, especially Williams and Yze, but Goody still makes the final decision. If Goodys' stubbornness/ego overrides our assistants good advice, we're in trouble and he'll be out. Does Goody have it in him to listen, learn and delegate etc.? -
I think you were correct on every count rjay! Commentators called it a stray forearm and focused on Abletts smaller injury. I found it a bit sickening.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified

Hahaha You're very welcome RTG. No, I wanted normal font of course. Pasted from iPhone word processor and forgot that that makes it bigger. There's a way to paste yet end up with normal size font, but I forget it now. -

I'm sure some of you understand this much better than me because I'm just watching on TV from o/s, but: It seems Trac and Clarrie are happy to pass to each other etc., but about round 15, 16 or 17, I saw Clarrie bend to pick up the pill in congestion near a stoppage and Viney charged and grabbed it. I thought wow it seemed for 1/2 second that Viney selfishly fought Clarrie for the ball!? I don't know there is a problem and hope there isn't, but if those 2 definitely can't work together, then I really hope we keep Clarrie and let Viney go if one must go. -
nice mark Preuss

Funny and appropriate song by Greg Champion. So is it worth staying up to watch this game starting at 2.10am over here? The answer is "Nooo", but pleeeease, why will I probably do it any way?
-
Yes 56. Perhaps he's learnt something from Landon? .and he's already got the bandanna!?
-
I fully agree. Maybe Hunt's better at HFF or FP than wing? Also curious to know how he's been playing. In for Hannan, or if managing Kossie or? I've been back in LA since late 2016 thanks Tim. It's been another world here. Masked distancing since March. No live music gigs, though the players are still here. Spend much time with the GF. Watch the Dees games. All the best to you and all at Demonland

Feel it's about time to give Hunt a chance. Maybe he's been watching how Ed Langdon goes about playing and thinking to himself, "Hey, I could do a lot of that, plus I have just as good a bandanna ? ?". Maybe we'd be pleasantly surprised with Hunt on the other side from Ed.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Rob Mac...... replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well said Skuit! Also, doesn't anyone remember that every MFC player was apparently in that big pre-season set-shot goal kicking contest? Who won? PRUESS won! Pruess is a very, very good kick. (but i guess we don't need that do we?) -
GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Port Adelaide
Rob Mac...... replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Port Players get the ball, then try to maintain possession for Port. Dees players get the ball, then seem more concerned to get "meters gained", just keep moving the ball toward our goal, like schoolboy football, causing so many turnovers and lousy delivery to our forwards. -

I was expecting we'd lose, but now after all the public criticism, we may pull our collective fingers out just enough to win tonight.

Melbourne vs Essendon Postponed
Rob Mac...... replied to Deemented Are Go!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
The round is over so the points should be allocated now! Essendon were incapable of fielding a team, so they must forfeit, leaving the points to us. It is unfair to weaken us by forcing us to play games closer together because Essendon failed their responsibility to field a team. It doesn't matter if the covid was their "fault" or not, although hearing Connor breached protocol after knowing makes it appear so anyway. Essendon should have kept their players away from Europe and flying. The price of their poor choices (or even bad luck) should be born by Essendon and not shared with or passed on to others. Bottom line: Each club is responsible for fielding their team and Essendon failed to do so, so they forfeit the points. Anything else is BS and MFC should be and should have been strongly making those points to all and sundry from the start. -
