  1. Frost please! When Lever went down I read stats that Frost had taken the second most intercept marks of anyone on our list. He’s been one of Caseys best for quite awhile, including some BOG. Fast and powerful. Maybe he’s improved his worst features lately? Surely Frost’s been ready for a recall!!
  2. Yes LH, I absolutely agree. All that blood coming out of his mouth looked bad. I think TMac’s so valuable we’re in trouble without him. His long term health and career come before getting him back faster. Is the specialist who’ll decide whether Tom’s ready the same one who presumably said Viney was okay to play last year?
  3. Enjoyed watching him play often. Yes SWYL, one of our greats.
  4. I imagine that most of us, like myself, have great trust, admiration, respect and gratitude for the great job Peter Jackson seems to have done, while we know relatively little about our board and president and their ability to make the correct choice of a CEO. That IMHO being the case, I can’t understand why they wouldn’t consult with PJ about this decision, even if solely to make the supporters feel more comfortable with the choice? Of course PJ has no vote In choosing his replacement, but seeking his advice during the process would surely make supporters feel better about the choice, and how a clubs supporters feel is important too. I hope we’re about to be informed that PJ was consulted?
  5. It’s in his head! He needs to be habitually spending tons more time thinking seriously about his on-field play (as i bet TMac does). Instead it seems he thinks about fun social things like Col Sylvia used to (and Sylvias best games beat Traccs best so far). His mind needs to be full of a million abstractions about best handling every on-field situation. The rest will flow from that. IMHO without this slight shift in mindset, Tracc will never become the huge star many of us think and hope he will be. Or to put it all another way, he needs to pull his finger out and focus on work!
  6. 6. Tom McDonald (our only major winner) ...space 5. Oliver 4. Gawn (less fantastic today, but we’d have been thrashed without him) 3. Fritsch 2. ...can’t think of anyone 1. Jones
  7. Game stsrts at 10.20pm here. Looking forward with trepidation. We’ve played some fabulously exciting footy the past 6 weeks, but it seemed all opponents were playing poorly! Hopefully we forced them to be poor, but I’m still aprehensive what will happen when a good team really brings their best game against us!
  8. Good on you Tom McDonald!!! After all the great stuff happening lately, this is the Best mfc news in awhile!
  9. 6 TMac 5 Jetta 4 oliver 3 Hogan 2 Hibberd 1 Fritsch Brayshaw got much ball, but too many horrible disposals today for a vote IMHO.
  10. So did you actually see our 1948 premiership win then Deeoldfart?
  11. I voted Clarry, but think Max is our most valuable ATM with Tommy Mac right up there too (well he’s nine months younger than Max)
  12. It’s great to be winning games we’re supposed to win for the first time in how many years?!
  13. 6. Tom McDonald 5. Gawn 4. Jones 3. Oliver 2. Harmes 1. Lewis many others, Lever, Hibberd, Jetta, ANB, (not Weid) Some days Melksham is a fantastic kick, sometimes it’s a bit off.
  14. 6. Oliver 5. Gawn 4. Hibberd 3. Hogan 2. Jones 1. Brayshaw we’re so better with TMac Great to see the defense winning for a change!!
  15. Thanks DeeWiz, I forgot that. The relatively recent MFC Dark Ages when we rarely won two in a row, still have me conditioned to disbelieve we could win four in a row now.
  16. I’m curious, does anyone know when we last won 4 or more games straight?
  17. 6. Gawn 5. Jones 4. Fritsch 3. Hannan 2. Melksham 1. Jetta
  18. Yes, that Dunn and Howe are good. Would like to have them at the Dees ? Dons losing, but no worries, they’ll play themselves back into form next week.
  19. Tom Forward!! He’s A great shot for goal, while not a great kick from defense. Keep Frost in defense and TMac as relief ruck.
  20. Thats what I’m talking about Clint. I agree with you Lucifers, except i think it can be predicted or noticed when we’re fading a bit. EG. After our high energy Q1 yesterday i expected us to slow up and we did, but foolishly nothing was done about it until half time when it was too late!!! We need to achnowledge that the pendulum swings in a game and have plans prepared to use that to advantage and mitigate damage when we’re having some poor minutes.
  21. Hi Lucifers. Yes we normally fade at some stage, if not we’re exhausted and lose the following week. Perhaps it’s unreasonable to expect out attacking game style to be executed hell- for- leather for 100 minutes without fatigue? If so then wouldn’t it work, if within any quarter, coaching or leadership could predict the pendulum swinging or predict or quickly identify fatigue starting and SIGNAL our entire team just to go into possession football for a few minutes; keepings off to frustrate and exhaust the opposition, preventing their run- on while we recharge for our next onslaught? It would stop them killing us in those minutes; keep us in control and be a mandatory part “b” of our overall game plan and strategy. It should happen BEFORE we’re too tired to execute it. A different signal could cue us back to attack mode. Players could expect and look for those signals. Some ways to switch gears during a quarter when we’re under the pump.
