Enjoyed watching him play often. Yes SWYL, one of our greats.

I imagine that most of us, like myself, have great trust, admiration, respect and gratitude for the great job Peter Jackson seems to have done, while we know relatively little about our board and president and their ability to make the correct choice of a CEO. That IMHO being the case, I can’t understand why they wouldn’t consult with PJ about this decision, even if solely to make the supporters feel more comfortable with the choice? Of course PJ has no vote In choosing his replacement, but seeking his advice during the process would surely make supporters feel better about the choice, and how a clubs supporters feel is important too. I hope we’re about to be informed that PJ was consulted?

It’s in his head! He needs to be habitually spending tons more time thinking seriously about his on-field play (as i bet TMac does). Instead it seems he thinks about fun social things like Col Sylvia used to (and Sylvias best games beat Traccs best so far). His mind needs to be full of a million abstractions about best handling every on-field situation. The rest will flow from that. IMHO without this slight shift in mindset, Tracc will never become the huge star many of us think and hope he will be. Or to put it all another way, he needs to pull his finger out and focus on work!
  4. 6. Tom McDonald (our only major winner) ...space 5. Oliver 4. Gawn (less fantastic today, but we’d have been thrashed without him) 3. Fritsch 2. ...can’t think of anyone 1. Jones
  5. Game stsrts at 10.20pm here. Looking forward with trepidation. We’ve played some fabulously exciting footy the past 6 weeks, but it seemed all opponents were playing poorly! Hopefully we forced them to be poor, but I’m still aprehensive what will happen when a good team really brings their best game against us!
  6. Good on you Tom McDonald!!! After all the great stuff happening lately, this is the Best mfc news in awhile!
  7. 6 TMac 5 Jetta 4 oliver 3 Hogan 2 Hibberd 1 Fritsch Brayshaw got much ball, but too many horrible disposals today for a vote IMHO.
  8. So did you actually see our 1948 premiership win then Deeoldfart?
  9. He’s way too good to lose.
  10. I voted Clarry, but think Max is our most valuable ATM with Tommy Mac right up there too (well he’s nine months younger than Max)
  11. It’s great to be winning games we’re supposed to win for the first time in how many years?!
  12. 6. Tom McDonald 5. Gawn 4. Jones 3. Oliver 2. Harmes 1. Lewis many others, Lever, Hibberd, Jetta, ANB, (not Weid) Some days Melksham is a fantastic kick, sometimes it’s a bit off.
  13. 6. Oliver 5. Gawn 4. Hibberd 3. Hogan 2. Jones 1. Brayshaw we’re so better with TMac Great to see the defense winning for a change!!

Thanks DeeWiz, I forgot that. The relatively recent MFC Dark Ages when we rarely won two in a row, still have me conditioned to disbelieve we could win four in a row now.

I’m curious, does anyone know when we last won 4 or more games straight?
  16. 6. Gawn 5. Jones 4. Fritsch 3. Hannan 2. Melksham 1. Jetta
  17. Good points Farmer. We’re short a huge dominant key defender. I’m concerned about Hawkins, Ben Brown etc kicking 6 on us. TMacs goal kicking is too good to not have him a KPF. I’ll risk offending people here by saying that Hogan’s a dominant player anywhere on the field, has trouble kicking goals unless pretty close to the sticks, but I’d LOVE to see him take on Hawkins, Brown etc., he might kill them and would learn a lot while doing it.
  18. I 100% agree OD. He’s a reliable, dominant player who can run all day, rarely misses a goal or a game, yet is under appreciated here. He’s worth as much as anyone on our list.
  19. Inspired by Little Goffys post above i watched the entire R23 game. ...missed it back then. Pies gave it their best. IMO Watts’ poor last quater was a bit exaggerated above. When we were thrashed in Q1 he was our best player, was good in Q2, maybe still our best by half time,,, average third and poor last quarters. I think the public nature of his unfair MFC treatment foolishly reduced his trade value for us. Here’s wishing Jack every success at Port Adelaide!
  20. Agreed, and the last time we beat Wet Toast in Perth was 2002 !
  21. Hey Tim. Good, I'll still be here, hope to see you then. Are The Sports friends of yours? Having left Oz in '74, unfortunately I missed decades of local music. Watched the 2007 GF in LA with Aussie friends and some Richmond players; Richo, Collins & another. Collins mentioned the Sports a lot & said his uncle, father or someone was in them.
  22. Hey Tim Hardtack. Great to meet & watch the GC win! Still in semi-euphoric shock we won a 1st rounder actually! This must be the tune you told me about. I took the advice to "only listen with headphones on and the volume cranked right up to maximise the pain... err, I mean, experience." Hahah, you're too hard on yourself. I liked it, great stuff! Your vocal intonation's fine and everything. All very enjoyable. Thanks for pointing out there are music threads on DL too. Coincidentally(?) the music posters also seem among my favorite footy posters to read [Redleg, Macca, Nutbean, yourself..]!? Anyhow, hope to catch another game with you. You're very welcome to phone/PM/email any time. Cheers, Rob
