Gaz is right on the money about Melksham.

Hogan kicks goals from 40 metres easily. He kicks them from 50 metres too but some people expect him to kick much further to be more effective it seems. If his role was to regularly kick from the 50m line it might become an issue. But it isn’t and won’t. He’s got 8 goals on the board from 2 games so it’s a non-issue for most people.

Have enjoyed listening to Mick this year since joining Grandstands coverage. What stood out to me today was his no-nonsense calling out of Selwoods ducking (it was a little diplomatic) and in general Geelongs tendencies to play for free kicks. Rather than pointing the finger directly at the players, he consistently made mention of “poor umpiring”. Love him or loathe him, the man is very knowledgeable and would be a worthy inclusion to the AFL administration of rules.
