In the helter skelter of the 3rd quarter and google ads , I didnt pickup kossies actions live . Only when I watched the replays did I pick it up. I listened to footyolgy podacast with rohan and finey , last night . It was recorded live after the game. Finey made the observation ( and others did to ) that kozzie had a bad game because he had 4 kicks only . I say kossies 2 efforts in the 3rd quarter led to 2 vital goals when the pressure was on . Every goal after the first 2 goals in last quarter was icing on the cake . The rubber band had broken , dees were pumped and doggies were gone mentally.

The opposition was forced to play their best defender on Brown ( a proven goalkicker ) when weiderman played he got 2nd best defender and tmac got best defender. As I posted in bailey thread, our leading goal kicker often got the 4 th defender if max or luke went forward . Picket and spargo rounded of our forward line with Trac doing cameos there.

Normally there are 30 k on the grass at premiers sunday morning event mostly still brain dead . Not sure what is planned but neale ron swooper ?are likely to be there. Maybe tribute to players and coach who passed way to early . Maxs first interview alluded to the fact of how they did it for those who passed. Not sure what the induction process is for players to the club is but the history of the club probably gets a mention and those who passed tragically too.

Dont think afl members will be open and maybe mcc , depends where stage is . They will want ppl to face stage . Dont think there will be general seating on field , maybe for team families and past players sponsors . It will be seating in stand so they can trace if they have to . Im just happy we can be there.

Just wondering if anyone who goes Friday to the mcg can give us a run down on how the visit works , ie the opportunity to hold the cup is the beginning of exhibition ? Or do we have go thru exhibition first .? Can you take off your mask for the photo? Is there an official there to take your phone to take the photo ? Or you ask the person behind you if your by yourself ? How long you get with cup 30 secs? Should you get there 20 mins before the time slot you chose? How does parking work? Never been to members area and not parked there in years Thanks in advance

A few points Geelong had a lot of success thru father and son , scarlett hawkins and ablett jnr .They were not first round picks . The rules have changed now on father son . Because of long success , they were able to attract good players from other sides ie Cameron looking for success.They have had players over last 15 years play hundreds of games scarlett enright taylor selwood bartel corey chapman , stevie J etc, They didnt have to blood too many young players all at same time . They didnt lose good players to long term acl injuries. when they lost stewart near end of season there defence collapsed.Henry couldnt stop the bleeding. We were fortunate this year We had Burgo and we lost Adam T as our only knee injury . First time in years we got most of our top 22 on the ground most weeks. Not all there picks were successes too. Cameron couldnt get in the side because of depth , couldnt show his worth and now is starring at lions . Wouldnt geelong give for a small forward now . Unlike Hawthorn who have dropped down going thru pain , and are rebuilding , cats havent yet. when hawkins selwood and danger are gone in a few years , they wont have replacements aged 26 in their prime . Duncan 30 and c guthrie 29 wont be them . There are the only victorian side that has home ground advantage , they train and play on same ground , they know the nuances of the field ie narrow pockets . Watch opponents kick out on full there. They have crowd support too . Very few opposition supporters get there . crowd noise does effect umpiring ( see wc at home ) without fans this year , geelong lost games they should have won ( see rnd 23). In conjunction with this geelong have had to play interstate sides and weaker melb sides there for years . How many years have we groaned when the fixture came out , away at geelong for5 years now.When all the redevelopment is done there , how many more opposition supporters will get in ? 3000? Because of financial losses due to covid . Afl wont schedule finals at geelong . It may be a moot point if Geelong follow Hawthorn .
