Is there any chance Petty could win just one one v one contest? Simon's Petty obsession has been a complete and utter fail this year bar about 2.5 matches. Could've played Jeffo for two or three matches just see where he's at and give us a diff look inside 50. Plus maybe a few goals to spur him on to work harder towards 2025.

He is way too slow by foot and upstairs. There's just no weapons there at all that would suggest he'll be able to take the next step. He would need to gain a yard or two in pace and a massive improvement in agility and skills. While anything's possible it seems very unlikely at this point.

Playing this soft it's hard to disagree. Bruise free butchers with a failed system and method that doesn't hold up under anything that resembles AFL standard pressure. We cannot maintain possession for more than a few disposals in transistion and after three years have not learned or garnered the skills and craft that sees a switch of lanes or direction that allows us to hit more targets coming inside 50. We are STILL playing on like headless chooks, running and kicking in straight lines with no lowering of vision and constantly missing open options inside 50. Instead just bombing on ppls heads down the line which the oppo intercepts or spoils easily. I can't see how Goodwin survives beyond 2025 if he continues to dish up this rubbish.

Tholstrup is a young fella i realise with plenty of potential but he should not play at this level again (if possible) until he has the strength through his core to stay strong over the ball and keep his feet.

Fritsch is a one trick pony this season. Outside of the lead and mark or odd crumb out the back he's been shocking and absolutely flakey / cringe worthy

Not everyone but yes, far too many just aren't at the level and it too easily ebbs away, even when we do look to be 'ON' , whenever the oppo ups their pressure We haven't handled pressure well at all for most of the year and nor are we capable of bringing AFL level pressure for more than a few quarters or so.

The average is 180 ... we've rarely hit that across an entire match all year. Last week was one exception. That first quarter was a great example of how far this system is (Goodwin's system) from finals level footy.

Spaz usually plays a defensive mid role. They probably figure Laurie is about as close to that as we'll get as he's a bit of a tackling machine at Casey level at times. Whether that translates to a similar role / outcome at senior level we'll have to wait and see i guess.

Just my take but... At this point ANB would not need to train with the boys to know the role in a one off sense. Possibly moved aside to allow the young fellas a chance to train playing a similar role either off the bench or as sub and give the Casey boys some tips with positioning around stoppages etc?

I just love watchimg the unbridled attack, driving of legs and finding his way into space. Plus the smile and the enthusiasm he brought to the club. Sensational. Yes he 'has been' a tad wayward with the disposal at times. But i've seen the signs, especially after being moved into the middle, that he's been working on this aspect and slowly starting to turn the corner. It's been an amazing 100 and hard to believe really. A flag in that lot as well and played an integral part of it throughout the 2021 season. A bit of an off year in 2022 but hit back hard in 2023 which is a good sign of a player maturing upstairs and understanding what's required at this level. Followed that up with another solid season so far. Congrats young Riv. Hope to see your happy face on the podium again at some point.
