  1. The Opp ruckman just ran straight at Maxy no eyes for the ball....play on
  2. He should have done that last pre-season surely
  3. Common Demons....resting Gawn and then Pruess at FF might stretch em a little. And wow he STILL sits back on that LAST step and shanks left. It's ingrained and bound to miss 8 out of 10 times kicking like that FMD
  4. Don't bring him to ground or you'll be penalised??
  5. Wow HUUUUUUUGE shove out of the contest on May by Kennedy....NO FREE not even mentioned on the commentary. Chanel 7 are [censored]!
  6. Petty needs to work harder to get front position if he is going to play forward.
  7. He is seriously barely VFL standard at present Jaded. In patches he might look VFL worthy but that's about it.
  8. Harmes steps directly back over his mark while assessing his options and is immediately called to play on "off the line...play on"
  9. How the FD chose ANB over Dunkley is beyond me. Its like playing one player short. Dunkley wouldn't offer much more but at least potentially has a future. The only reason i can think of is Dunkley was injured or too sore but even then i wouldn't select ANB. Goody seriously has no idea.
  10. Performance in front of goals and some loose checking by some down back but the umpiring has, as usual, been diabolical. When was the last time we saw the MFC get so many easy decisions paid our way like the Eagles in that first quarter? Over the shoulder, play on immediately when it clearly isn't, chopping the arms, rough tackle....and on it goes. Many of those when our players are running forward out of position and the Eagles get the easy flip out the back with free players everywhere.
  11. last 10 frees....9 to 1. Laughable. Trying to win the match for the Eagles in the first quarter or two as per usual. Nothing's changed
  12. The AFL have the umpires running two sets of rules. One for the big boy clubs and one for the lessor lights. Earlier today Danger took a mark in the exact same position up against the boundary as Salem just then. Danger wheeled inside about 2 meters and set his own mark well inside the boudary....no "Play On" called. Salem takes one step or so in side the boundary and DOES NOT play on, no more than 2 feet, but is automatically called to "Play on"....there are two leagues running with two sets of umpiring interpretations going on, depending on who the team is on the receiving end.
  13. Haha....set shots wow. 100% miss rate
  14. Wow apparently you can't tackle to fiercely if you are an MFC player. All others are ok to do so though.
  15. No "Nasty" LN I am redacting the Wags bit... more faith in CWags than J. Is a real goer and might make it
  16. Would like to see us recruiting more indigenous players for the run, class and skills to finish over the likes of Spargo, ANB, Keilty, JKH and the Wags etc. Need to be goers also though with a bit of nasty.
  17. Harmes, the Jones boy & AVB (IF he returns). Not sure he'll make the grade but Cwags hits in pretty hard also. Would add ANB & Salem in there as well. The latter two don't exactly body line the ball at every opp but that's probably not their forte'. Both lay their fair share of tackles if my eyes aren't deceiving me.
  18. Only guessing but i assume it would be with Casey when not a regular upstairs DP. I would be very surprised if that intensity isn't in our training already. At the end of the day you can train the house down all you like DP, taking it to another level on game day really comes from within IMHO. I sometimes wonder how badly some of the fringe players really want it at times. Probably why they are fringe in many cases.
  19. First time ive heard Oskar's name in the call. Didn't realise he was out there! Haven't heard Lefau's name mentioned since i praised him either ?
  20. Would happily have Lefau on the list before the likes of JKH, ANB, Spargo, Jwags and Billy for the 2020 season. Plenty of speed and X factor that the others lack and pretty clean with ball in hand. Knows where the goals are also. A fair way off AFL level at this point but has weapons the others don't. Prospective AFL star if managed well.
  21. Maybe already upgraded on our list PF!!??? ....speed X factor. Something we have very little of right now, especially the latter!
  22. Solid post and agree with most of that BZ. Except the last part....partially. Why do i say partially? The game style can and does work for parts of a match/season when you have most of your best 26 to 28 on the list fit and firing on all cylinders. Unfortuantely, as you have expressed very succinctly, playing that particular style for most of a match/matches/season oft leads to extensive fatigue/injuries and an eating into the depth of one's list. Which then impacts on the ability and success of the team / club as a whole to maintain a winning run of games/seasons in the medium to long term. Especially when the fatigue/injuries see you tapping into players post your best 28 (ish). Unfortunately once you delve beyond your best 28 or so, as a minnow AFL club (ie; not an AFL favoured top 4 Vic, interstate or start up), you then drop away significantly from your best and your ability to produce a level of intensity in a chaos game that will get the chocolates other than against very ordinary bottom feeders (who are also struggling badly). Among other fixes in the next few pre-seasons/trades/drafts, Goody needs to recognise the above and adjust accordingly, injecting a slower possession tempo option into the mix for significant parts of a game more often if we are to become a serious (regular) finals contender and take a shot at a flag or two. My eye is on this for 2020. Start seeing it and it will be clear that Goody is on the money. Then we just need the cattle / success at the draft/trade table. Much of that depends on an AFL system (fixed) though. And we are not GWS, GC, the Hawks or the Pies etc so i wont be holding my breath on succeeding on this part. At this point we remain one of the bottom feeders in the eyes of Gill and likely to continue receiving the chaff instead of the wheat.
