Take this with a grain of salt but i heard from a mate (who supposedly knows someone close to the club lol) that on his first meeting with the group he allegedly told them... "Anyone who doesn't put their head over the f'n ball won't be getting a game at this club".

How they got any more than their 150th as a Friday night match is disturbing. Talk about ho hum

Essendrug lack grunt through the middle & defence is real shabby. About the only player that occasionally shows something is Shiel but its more outside silk than grunt from him.

Absolutely, especially for the older demographic and we are probably disproportionate here vs the rest of the comp given our lack of success prior to 2021. In addition many who would usually take public transport, especially inner suburbanites & older dems, aren't going either. Can you blame them? Who wants a dose of covid as a side dish to watching a game of footy if you can avoid it? I rarely watch or take much notice of AFL shock jocks like Caro & Kane etc but do these people ever mention these realities or do they just ignore it and keep slamming us as being poor at attending etc? More a retorical / curious question in the sense of... are they professional journalists in any sense of the word or just headline hunting nongs? Sadly i suspect the latter on both counts. No doubt a number of [censored] so called journalist mates out there too doing same.

Yep that's a fair summary. Club just needs to make.sure any underlying issues (if there are any) that may have lead up to this fracas aren't still simmering under the surface. Genuine apologies. Then forgive and move on for the sake of 'the team'. If one or some of them don't get that last part and are still harboring some sort of angst then that might be the only aspect that would continue to have a ripple effect on the players for the remainder of the season, potentially both on and off the field. Genuinly sort it and most involved, if not all, will move on and we should be toot sweet.

Yes i vaguely recall that comment Bin. Seemed off the cuff / tongue in cheek at the time and took very little notice. Hate saying this but i doubt any of us will ever know exactly the reasons why/how and the whens unless we were part of the inner sanctum etc.
