  1. A few JVR highlights against the Cats... https://fb.watch/e9Nx3nir_O/
  2. Our run finished after 10 straight wins CYB. We've only beaten 1 top four team out of 4 matches since we beat the Saints during that run in Rnd 8. That 25% hit rate against top eight teams from here would only see us winning 3 out of the next 6. If the alarm bells isn"t warming up and starting to ting a ling a little right now inside Goody's & the FD's heads it should be. We have a chance to right the ship but some serious changes/work needed on eveything forward of center before the match against Port if we're to make the top four. As i've said since we lost Macca, you just can't/won't win many matches at this level defending 8 or 9 goals. We have 9 days to fix it IMV or we'll probably end up outside the top four and/or at best playing an 'away' Qualifying final in Sydney, Brisbane or the Cattery.
  3. Hallelujah to that Macca. Especially BB. And he isn't alone, with many of our forwards failing to understand this necessity when the opp is bringing high intensity tackling/pressure at particular moments within games. Ball is often going to fall shallow. Sometimes that pressure will drop and you can then look to double back or sit in the hole etc. Surely BB has this one down pretty well by now? The number of times i see defenders reading this situation better and sitting in front of one of our forwards for the easy chest mark and slingshot rebound is infuriating. Extra infuriating as we never seem to correct this basic error. Also... How often do other teams hit up their small forwards either sitting in space and/or on a lead? I wouldn't say the numbers would be high here (especially against us as our D is pretty decent) for any team but i would guess we would be sitting pretty low on the tables if we could access the data and do a comparison. When you watch our forward methods/craft/smarts at Casey we more often than not look like a team of pros that knows how to find space, hit up leading targets and clever use at ground level getting the ball in to the hands of a player in a better position to score for the conversion. There's often just more space for our forwards to work in as well. The rot at senior level starts & stops with Stafford IMV.
  4. Do you want him to be the best player he can possibly be QD or just a goal kicker? I believe there's always room for improvement and that he can bring both. Just needs a small reminder
  5. 100% .... get him in. We have no mobile forward who can drift across packs taking contested marks or just taking contested marks in general under heat aside from the occasional cameo from Fritsch. Apart from the last kick coming inside 50 this is probably one of the most important components that helps retain the ball inside 50 for longer & putting a winning score up.

  7. More than just last week Red what have you been watching? We robbed ourselves of a key back and probably a win a few weeks back to send a message. Could have just as easily fined him or put him on notice. I also have faith that JVR will make a decent fist of things (in the short term).
  8. 100% ready jontee. Will he last more than a few weeks in that hurly burly? I doubt it but i reckon this week's as good as any to roll the die
  9. Im not a believer Mr Leg but it will be a missed opportunity if he isn't and sends a very poor message to the rest of the playing group. Need to stop the rot .... and no better time than the present.
  10. He will be fine for a debut this week. Would happily have him come in for Fritsch for a short stint or as long as he deserves to hold the spot. The whole forward line needs to be put on notice and a rocket sent. Aside from Macca and a few cameos here & there they've been bog ordinary most of the year and may well cost as the double chance etc.
  11. Oh well if you are happy for us to keep playing a selfish player who keeps burning his team mates 58 .... just keep picking him and say / ask nothing in terms of changing that habbit. That attitude will then start creaping through the group and it's a downward spiral from there
  12. We were the same during the MN years and a few other periods
  13. So the umps just gave Ginniven 17 seconds after he got up to take his free.... who else gets these luxuries? No wonder they win so often
  14. Go Norf! Haven't seen so much squealing in ages. Maggies could put a fabulous castrati of eunuchs together with this lot!
  15. After watching the entire Casey match tonight.... Outs: Spargo, Bedford, Fritsch & Bowey Ins: Laurie, Chandler, JVR & Hunt If Clarry doesn't make it Dunstan must be close to getting a call. Sparrow would want to bring a higher level than he did against the Cats IMV as Dunstan is ready to pounce even with Clarry in. Could easily manage both of these two for that position by rotating them for a block of games in the next 6 weeks. May the best man win! BBB is also on notice IMV with Mitch & Weid looking very sharp in patches tonight under shizen conditions, especially Mitch. The three of them are all pretty much at the same level in terms of potential impact as a KF. There's no stand outs amongst any of them. I wish there was! Weid does bring something the others don't which is the ability to ruck if needed. Allows us to rest Maxy on the bench / forward or in an intercept role behind play. Same with Dogga. Even if Weid only played about 60% game time just to give this chop out and keep the other two talls fresh & allow them to play their other roles a little more effectively?
  16. Pretty meh game for mine. Hunt kicked the door down big time in the second half.
  17. Hunt has to come in for Sparrow after that performance IMV. Bowey needs a rest for Laurie who was superb tonight. Hunt was the instigator of our come back from about half way through the third and has earned a recall. While all others were handballing to players two to five feet away bringing more pressure.... or trying to pinpoint passes from the back pocket under shizen conditions when we were still slightly behind, Hunt said "stuff this...im gonna get it, break lines and roost it deep into our forward half". In addition he intercepted brilliantly on a number of occasions a kick behind play just back of the square and didnt hesistate to shoot low raking kicks into the hot spots putting the puddy cats under immense pressure in 1 v 1s giving our forwards a decent chance. Baker & Mitch also did the same on a few occasions. Thought Mitch actually had a decent game without really hitting the scoreboard but very tough conditions. Weid also presented well after half time i reckon.
  18. Took about 4 or 5 contested marks...most after it started raining cats n demons. He's ready for a look at the top against the Power on our home turf
  19. Dunstan is really knocking on Sparrow's door big time.... pretty good tonight. Handball is elite most of the time. Kicking a bit hows your father though
  20. Chandler for Spargo...did enough tonight and the last two weeks in particular
  21. Laurie (BOG) comes in for Bowey
  22. Van Rooyan gets his first AFL game this week for Fritsch
  23. Tough conditions but a bit of a howler dropped chest mark from Tomo there under zero pressure. Ultimately Cost Casey a goal
  24. Wow one of the worst hospital handballs ive ever seen by Munro. Basically invited Smith to a death wish. Go back over the mark and kick it long Munro on a soaked pitch! Silly stuff
  25. So now you want him to go to the Dogs!?
