POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
No he has massive upside imv Leuc. But whatever's happening this year has seen him regress in small forward craft and has also seen Chandler hit the wall with his development. Very sad to watch. They should both be up and about every other week vs both dropping away for weeks on end. They both just need the right guidance, structure up forward. Plus method of play to match what is happening up field and visa versa. For whatever reason we have stagnated and in some ways regressing backwards now. We are potentially watching the demise of a team that had at least one more shot at the big one, now going down the gurglar as the coach & FD appear to be incapable of mid/forward connection / cohesion nor improving forward craft & finish. There's only so many times the backs/mids can get the ball in there. At some point the forwards have to perform at a minimum level and convert at a reasonable level, consistently! Spotlight also needs to be placed on Tracc, Hunter, Sparrow & ANB. Their forward work is atrocious. Gus probably needs a mention also. Having said that i counted two hit up leads today. One from Nibbler to Kozzy. The other from Brown to Melk. But that was it as far as connection went. Too many hackers forward of center incapable of finishing, and many that have the finish in them are playing poorly. Otherwise we would be winning vs Dockers, Cats & GWS. Time to sit the mids & forwards down plus the line coaches and coach and sort this rubbish out. If they don't it'll be another season wasted.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
Where is Kozzy at and why has he regressed aside from the odd chase down attempts & pressure attempts inside 50 where he was doing well here (2nd in the AFL on averages for tackles inside 50) up to about 2 weeks ago? Havent checked if he's still in the mix here the last few weeks. Just isn't playing the 101s as a small forward as you would want. STILL going for the odd pack mark. Still playing from behind in 1 v 1s far too often. In the wet today was just silly. Doesn't get front & square often enough (occasionally due to pack mark attempts) and when he does.... he usually runs straight into the bottom of the pack so he has virtually no chance of crumbing the spill or escaping if he does. Who's mentoring / teaching him this rubbish lazy / innefective method of small forward play (offensively)? Chandler is another post altogether. Completely innefective the last 5 weeks. Zero goals if i'm correct.

That's a great result for us and that's a great result that will see the Cats struggle to make the eight from here. Nichols nearly got them over the line with the help of about half of the Swannies.

Swans are mentally shot... they just can't bring themselves to kick the winning goal lol

NON-MFC: Rd 16 2023
Swans panicking and playing on at all costs as if there's only 2 minutes left So many dumb plays and decisions/ disposals. Cats are almost as bad but the Swans have no composure at all

So Blicavs takes the ball out of the ruck, fends off his rucking oppo, and is then tackled. SURELY SURELY that's HTB Ump? Any or you four see it that way?? Nup. 5 seconds later a Swan fends off on the run and the quick but correct whistle comes...HTB! One interpretation of the rule for one team (or ignoring it intentionally?), and one for the other team. The umpiring continues it's 'all time' low ebb! The Jokefest continues.

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
I agree Mono but it's all about timing and form at Casey. Plus a little of how much is Simon wanting/willing to experiment. It's also a bit of a timing issue depending on who we're playing yes? Rounds 20? (Tigers), 21 (North) ✅️ & 23? (Hawks) might be an ipportunity to debut one or both and manage a few seniors.

TRAINING: Thursday 29th June 2023
Quite a whimsical adventure PF. Much appreciate you heading out to the dead marshes of Casey to bring this report to the DL faithful. However i believe you might’ve left out the most important part. The part that started off the whole saga. You apparently took the hand of some stranger as you slipped in the bog getting out of your car. A stranger somewhat off his nut who whisked you all the way to the last frontier... the wild lands of W.A. Where you then spent a little too much time on the choof courtesy of some of McQueen's finest chop!

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
Harmes finished off the game against Geelong strongly. The SC must surely have at least thought about him as back up to help out Viney & Tracc with extraction/clearance work with Clarry out yet again. Be surprised if he isn't sub for Spargo. Taj has to be close. Very classy on the outside and starting to get to more contests. Finishing off his work with some decent passes now while reducing his early season clangers. The FD would be tracking his progress and tank etc no doubt. Even if ready on the performance side who does he replace? The only way i can see howes getting in is an injury down back somewhere or maybe a winger having a really bad run for 2 to 3 games, or also an injury to one of them. Then you might see McVee moved onto a wing with Howes taking over McVee's role. Howes a lovely decision maker and pretty classy by foot. Able to hit targets inside 50. Same with McVee and more often if moved up to a wing. Highly unlikely (this season) and obviously we prefer that no one ends up out from injury.

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
JVR only if banged up imv AF. Smithy's doing what a forward shld do ....kicking goals. We have 3 smalls, at least one too many. Aside from Kozzy, Chandler and the sub Spargo aren't bothering the scorer and haven't for weeks now. The smart thing to do is to drop one of them for BB. For me at this point that would be Chandler. Assuming BB comes in then we don't need one of the tap bros to rest up forward where they are mostly innefective, rarely kick goals and end up bringing more oppo with them making the 50 even more congested than it usually is. Grundy as sub. Spargo remains at Casey. Bowey in for ANB. Tomo in for Hibb. Melk should also probably be getting a guernsey on the bench this week for Jordan. Sparkling goal kicking form and would be leading the way with instructions for some of the less experienced forwards. His voice and direction to the likes of Kozzy, JVR and others would be invaluable. Even if it was just for a small block of games. Our present forward line, bar Fritsch, is devoid of leadership and experience. BB's return this week will help on the exp side somewhat and hopefully a decent assist in taking the heat off JVR a little.
