  1. Yep my reserved seat ticket is already in my wallet app. What a smooth process this week! Love it!
  2. Do we know if Weideman broke his finger? ?
  3. Weideman plays. Brown rucks forward.
  4. While I understand how 'nice' it would be to be close to the MCG, the land around there is in short supply. Also maybe 1% of our members live in and around the Richmond area, lets be honest. Most members live in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, as do our players. I would rather have a state of the art facility, MCG sized training ground and a social club / offices in one somewhere away from the MCG precinct, than wait another decade in the faint hope we will get this going in the perfect location. To be honest I am not sure why we can't use Casey and just grow it. I don't live too far from here, and there are loads of Melbourne supporters in this area, and the entire city of Casey and Cardinia are being developed and re-developed at an insane rate. Wouldn't you rather get these local governments to chip in, maybe build an extra train station near the ground, some more parking etc and grow this as our hub? I feel like we are 1st home buyers. Naively waiting to buy a mansion in Toorak, but with a budget to buy a flat in Frankston. Sometimes you gotta be realistic and just get into the market. Having something is better than having nothing!
  5. I catch either the Frankston or Pakenham trains to the footy (the only time I ever catch public transport each week mind you), and hardly nobody wears masks. I would have expected at least Melbourne supporters, being generally smart, educated and aware of how likely they are to be caught up in tragedy, would be wearing them. Sadly, that is not the case. Put a mask on. Even without Covid, people are disgusting, winter and flu season is almost here, and the trains are filled with loud spitting folks. Don't you want to avoid getting sick? Especially during a pandemic, being sick with anything flu-like is just a pain.
  6. I really wish people would wear masks on the packed trains to and from the football like the LAW says you should. Less than 10% of people are wearing masks, and I just don't get why. It is always crowded on those trains, how hard is it to slap a mask on? FFS the complacency of so many is going to really screw us. And I don't know why nobody is monitoring it either. We should have people on trains, especially footy trains, ensuring mask compliance. At the moment with 0 new cases beyond this one returned traveller, it seems unlikely the crowds will be cancelled. We know the risk of being outdoors is super minimal.
  7. I’m old now so no idea these days, but back in the day when I was going out to clubs, there were places known for their “footy players”. The promoters would pay players to attend to draw a crowd. It was generally a mix of different players from different clubs. They were often very drunk as everyone would buy them drinks. I’ve lost a lot of respect for lots of Hawthorn players as they were overall the worst behaved. I would hope in 2021, and with an 8-0 start that our players can make a commitment to themselves not to be out and partying during the season. I also think we are lucky that many of our players, even the younger ones, seem to be in serious long term relationships. Some are even parents.
  8. Why round 10 and not round 9? Like how much notice do you need to give clubs? As if they don’t know by Thursday who they are picking. FFS.
  9. How many weeks you reckon he gets now for doing that? 10?
  10. Look, I could have just said Sydney, Geelong, Hawthorn or GWS.... but it was quicker just to type Love Child instead. I apologise.
  11. I think if you are fringe 22, you don't. If you are Gawn, or Trac, or Oliver and you are beaten up and sore, I don't think you are worried about having a rest and not getting back into the side. However I think it is just as important to win the 'winnable' games right now, as it is to be beating Port or the Dogs or Brisbane. For as long as we have minimal injuries, and a good run of games we need to secure as many wins as possible, to ensure that if/when injuries hit or our form drops, it is not a disaster.
  12. The more likely scenario is we go undefeated the entire year and Covid strikes and the season is cancelled before to the grand final #MFCSS
  13. I think Geelong should get one too if they finish outside the top 4, just because of their aging list.
  14. In 2021 women should not have to have anyone defend their honour, because nobody should be behaving like a complete nuffy to women. How about you let women go out, have fun, wear what they want, drink what they want, and not take it as an invitation to be a pervert or a dead set loser? Kthnxby.
  15. The day we were denied a priority pick after being rubbish for 92 years, was the day the priority pick died.... ... unless you are an expansion club or an AFL love child club
  16. Well deserved and gees what a difference for a young player to come in and be able to play alongside a mature established midfield, rather than coming in and having to carry an entire team on your shoulders like so many of our kids have had to do when we were trash.
  17. Maybe men should stop behaving like absolute uneducated pigs to women and to one another. Problem solved.
  18. Yep it’s not 2012, who goes to nightclubs these days?
  19. Oliver was better than Mills when it counted. There, I said it!
  20. I thought Ben Brown was very good, and it is no coincidence that Tommy kicks his first bag of goals for the year when BB is playing well and dragging away a defender. 7 goals from our 2 talls in the wet is a fantastic return (should have been 8, Brown just missed a gettable one). It was nice to see Brown jumping at the footy a bit more. He is not going to win agility awards, but to his credit was involved when the ball hit the deck. He is about as defensive as Fritsch when the ball hits the ground, which is acceptable for a big man (Fritsch however needs to do more, especially when he can't get a sniff of the goals). He was a very unlikable player for me when he was at Norf, so I sort of ignored his talents. But he is undeniably a very very good forward who is hard to defend against because he is so tall and such a good overhead mark. A team can never play against him and not put a lot of thought into how to defend against him, which is a great thing for us, as it means Tmac and Fritsch are less likely to be double and triple teamed. Once these 3 can learn to not all jump for the same mark, we will see even better results. This was happening a bit when May, Lever and Tomlinson first started playing together, but now they have sorted themselves out beautifully (and Petty was definitely not getting in their way on the weekend to his credit). The same will happen with some continuity for these 3.
  21. I agree. Except if May sneezes wrong for the rest of the season he will get suspended due to this prior conviction.
  22. I know we won’t do it, but gees I wish we would have a total sook to the AFL about the treatment of our players the way some clubs do. Who knows, now we are a good team they might listen.
  23. Yeah nothing in it. Could have dropped him on his neck and broke it. Not to mention off the ball and unnecessary.
  24. Watched the replay. Trac was suffering. He has a lot of thigh. Could take a week to come good. Lucky it’s a 7 day break, but if he’s not 100% a week off could be good.
