  1. No I’m asking who do you think is a better side? Because the Saints are 6th and they are, IMO, rubbish. Adelaide are inconsistent because they’re young. But they are a much better side than Saints. Ladder position aside.
  2. They will be a bloody good team in a year or two. Make no mistake about that.
  3. We are 4th on the ladder with 2 games and percentage ahead of the rest. Why is it blind faith to believe we are a good side? We’ve beaten more top 4 sides than the Pies have.
  4. Would have helped given May had an absolute stinker. He. Was. Putrid.
  5. Who do you think is a better team? Adelaide or Saints?
  6. Why is Tomlinson getting dropped this week for Petty, when he was our best tall defender today, instead of Petty going into the forwardline? I will never understand this logic.
  7. Not enough is being made of the fact that we have been without arguably the best player in the competition for close to 3 months now. Oh and missing our best forward and one of the best medium forwards in the competition. We just do not appreciate what a loss Oliver is. That we’ve managed to beat 2 top 4 teams without him is bloody excellent. Very few sides would cover this type of loss for as long as we have.
  8. Pies give up a massive lead against Adelaide too and conceded 7.1 in a quarter to them. We came back from 5 goals last week against Brisbane. Why oh why are the Pies the most amazing team to ever exist when they claw their way to win, and we are no good when we do? 🤷‍♀️
  9. Joel Smith is the perfect sub. He can play forward or back and make a really strong impact in limited game time. My choice for the sub role in September.
  10. Thanks for the update. Hope you have a holiday booked in September then.
  11. When are they sacking Ross the Boss?
  12. We need this guy I hear is not a bad player, Clayton something. He will help.
  13. Tell me the difference? In both scenarios you let your opponent get the better of you for periods of the game. It is far less risky to hold a lead than to try and claw one back.
  14. This was a good practice for when we face the Pies again. Adelaide play a very similar attacking game. Only difference is Adelaide have a much better forwardline than Pies. We held the Pies to 17 scoring shots.
  15. Except unlike last year, we win the game. Who will remember the margin of this game in September? Literally nobody.
  16. Louder for the people crying in the back please
  17. Adelaide have Burgess. Never forget that. They are extremely fit and have IMO the best forwardline in the league.
  18. We will look a different team when Clarry is finally back. Trac and Viney are exhausted. Both should get a week off before finals.
  19. What else do we have left to complain about if not small children singing the song with their dads? 🙄
  20. Idiots will say we weren’t good. They’ll also say Pies are going to win the flag because twice they beat Adelaide by under a goal. Go Dees!
  21. I think Adelaide have caught us off guard here. I don’t think anyone expected them to play so defensive and have an extra down back. We will adjust.
  22. Save it for when the game starts. Only positive vibes pre game.
  23. We beat Lions, we beat Dogs, we beat Geelong. And I bet my bottom dollar that if Oliver doesn’t do his hamstring we beat Port as well. There is a lot to be said for fighting back and winning. But there’s equally a lot to be said for not needing to constantly fight back to win, don’t you think? Why is Pies coming back and winning more impressive than Melbourne being in every game we play and rarely being in a position to not win it?
  24. And we don’t? We fought back twice against the Lions, and against Port and held on against the Pies. Our average losing margin is exceptionally small for a reason. We just don’t get behind as often at the Pies, so nobody rates our ability to fight back and win. But that doesn’t mean we don’t or can’t. We fought back from 19 points down in a grand final and won by 70+.
  25. Still drizzling constantly. Slivers of blue sky in the distance.
