  1. Your next project: start telling Ardu how nice a little brother, or 3, would be for little Bellanie Pickett junior playing next to Davey junior would complete my life.
  2. Another point to consider- when you are sitting down with Langford and Lindsay and saying "guys here is a 5 year extension" and they are looking around at our best players thinking they won't even be here in 5 years, they can now look around say well I've got Kosi with me. We can be a special midfield for the foreseeable future. Just look at the reaction of our players to this news on social media. Harvey Langford has already reposted the signing on his story. And besides, how often do players the calibre of Kosi even become available, and what chance would we as a small homeless club have to secure their services? I wonder if people would think twice about offering this type of deal to Butters for example.
  3. Thinking of all the big Dees fans who shed a tear this morning too
  4. He'll be 33 Silk played until 38!
  5. Massive MASSIVE credit to our club, that everyone loves to pot and tell you has the worst culture. We have gone above and beyond to make Kosi and his family feel embraced, loved and and looked after. This contract is a testament to their unwavering support of Kosi from day one, most especially Goody! Just once, try and have a good day as a Melbourne supporter who just secured the signature of one of the hottest players in the game.
  6. Just like a premiership, Kos is never coming to Fremantle. Eat [censored] Dockers!
  7. There are a number of reasons 1- When he has only 1 year left on his contract (next year), we have a lot less leverage 2- Signing him now allows us to plan our cap for the future and know what money we have to offer any free agent or player we would like to chase in the trade period. You'd hate to overpay some B grader from another club only to then not have the money to keep a generational talent like Kosi later on. Also allows us to put extensions to the likes of Lindsay, Langford, Bowey etc. 3- Securing Kosi gives other players we might be chasing the security that we have someone of his quality on our list for the next decade. It makes us a more competitive side, AND it puts to bed a lot of noise around our culture etc. If players of his ilk want to be at the club, it says a lot about the club itself. Don't underestimate how much the Trac debacle last year cost us at the trade table! 4- You strike while the iron is hot. Kosi is obviously happy, loving his footy and playing great. He was willing to talk so you talk. Plus imagine if we wait until next year, the way he's headed he would be worth even more money!
  8. BEST. NEWS. EVER
  9. People losing their mind over May talking to Gawn, will just LOVE all the harmony that JUH will bring to the club. Absolutely not!
  10. Agreeing with Kane
  11. Mitch Cleary reporting on absolutely nothing as usual. This is the biggest non story that continues to be a story.
  12. If we got JUH the media would have a full blown aneurysm about our CULTURE 🫠
  13. He’d cream his shorts if Port managed to convince Butters to sign on for 9 years. If you’re making any life decision based on Kane Cornes’ opinion, you should immediately seek professional help.
  14. Melbourne to the media clowns. Probably.
  15. If you think this deal is big, just imagine what Harley Reid is going to get, having shown literally nothing except what a petulant unprofessional child he is. Geelong is already mowing the lawns on his 9 acre farm, and Cotton On has a headband range in the works.
  16. Did you tell Kosi that we are all waiting over here holding our breath, and we might be dead soon?
  17. Long contracts are becoming the norm. Here is a list of the longest contracts currently in the AFL 2033: Hayden Young 2032: Connor Idun (?!), Sam Taylor, Connor Rozee, Noah Balta (?!!!!), Max King, Aaron Naughton 2031: Darcy Fogarty, Cam Rayner, Hugh McCluggage, Jacob Waitering, Brent Daniels, Nick Blakey 2030: Isaac Cumming, Harry McKay, Dan Houston, Harry Perryman, Josh Daicos, Andrew McGrath, Brennan Cox, Josh Treacy, Sean Darcy, Mac Andrew (who has a 4 year extension triggers), Josh Battle, Clarry, Harry Sheezel, Jack Lukosius Additionally 42 other players have 4 more years remaining on their current deals, some of which were 6+ years long. I can count on one hand, the players listed above who I would trade for Kosi. If we landed Houston, he'd be tied to us for a minimum of 5 years on a reported $850k a year, and he's 28. Did anyone bat an eyelid at that?
  18. To put it into perspective, Max King who’s been injured on and off and shown very little, is signed until 2032 on close to a $1mil a year. Someone argue with me that Kosi is not a much better player than Max King, who is likely to have more longevity in the game.
  19. Not sure many people even grasp the level of physical mental and emotional strength it would take to birth twins and then return to play and win a flag shortly after. The damage the female body goes thru post birth is significant, especially when birthing multiples. It is a far far greater “injury” hurdle to overcome than just about any typical AFL injury would be. Not enough is being said about the additional physical challenges that women playing AFL (or any contact sport for that matter) have to overcome to be at their peak every week. Absolute admiration for Daisy!
  20. By 2033, $1.3mil will be a stock standard salary.
  21. And happy to let their players openly talk about wanting to play with Kosi! They are living in absolute fantasy land. A ridiculous club.
  22. This is a very important point to harp on about. The money Kosi makes the club by getting people to watch games, and his marketing value, is totally underrated. He is a guy your kids want to watch play, and keeps them connected and invested in the club as they grow up. There is more to this than just keeping a bloody good player in the team. If this contract gets signed, we should all be extremely happy! It would be sensational news for our club.
