Have to agree. Greenwood has become a good player but in no way should picks 2 or 3 be included in a deal for him.

The onus is on Paddy and he has to decide whether he wants to screw over AFC to get to a Hawthorn or Geelong next season, take the money (and the good deal for AFC) and come to us or simply re-sign with them. I wonder if he has the 'nads to tell Adelaide that he's willing to stay on and then head to a successful club next season, effectively throwing his old club under the bus? And whether or not they'll take him at face value. Really, if AFC want to minimise risk and get the best deal possible, they should be signing for pick 2 and 3 as soon as possible.

I mentioned McKernan in another thread after he was delisted. Before looking at his statistics, I thought I could remember a season where he kicked a few bags. Clearly I was thinking of somebody else - McKernan would be a no for me.

That's true. You won't often get the direct truth through the media but often, players are so bad at the media side of things it can be easy to read the truth between the lines. Seemingly not in this situation unfortunately.

The snowball effect on Demonland is ridiculous. A couple of people come out with 'my mate reckons he's off to Geelong' and now people are wallowing in pity as if it's fact. The only facts I've heard are what has come directly from the Crows and directly from us - they are open to trading him, we are open to trading for him. We have the goods to give Adelaide the best deal possible, as well as the most money to Paddy himself. I'm quite content to go with what these facts infer - we are still a very good chance of getting Dangerfield to the Demons.

In hindsight, their situation was a bit of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't. They pushed the top four when he was at his best, but in the end it was their poor recruiting that let them down - that was disguised when Judd was carrying the whole team on his shoulders. Do you think Carlton expected that he'd still be carrying them into the top 4 right now? It was as successful as it could have been and probably more successful than if they kept Kennedy and didn't pursue Judd.

It's a hard one to assess really, Judd and Carlton. Their forward line would be infinitely more potent now if they'd kept Kennedy, but if they hadn't kept Judd, they might still be stuck on the bottom with us. Especially if their recruiting continued in terrible fashion. But as it is, they are on the way down with the future looking bleak and I am very happy about that .

I can't see that having any effect... It's not as though he's annoyed at us and secretly wants to play for the MFC but was waiting for an apology.
