  1. Shouldn't that be Meth Coast Cooler? And I am sure the apostrophe nazi will come down hard on you ...
  2. Yeah, the day that changed Australia, until something else happens next week ...
  3. So one man's Hobart is another man's Hobshite?
  4. Wongs "code of silence" rules appy -- what happens at Wongs, stays at Wongs. Banana fritters are less numerous than they once were, but all other information is classified. If you promise to be there next time, I'l promise to ride my bike there ....
  5. That is more disturbing for some reason ...
  6. So you're back in the saddle ... on a snail?
  7. So the Demon Frog is back? No more Chosen One? FWIW I like the frog better ...
  8. According to Google maps, Wongs serves 'eastern european fired rice'. Looking forward to trying some of that ...
  9. Agreed. Sad thing to happen, but they should move on by now iMHO.
  10. I thought civiilsation began in 1858. Before that it was a mess of farmers, industrialists and colonists, all over-indulging on the Paleo diet ... :-)
  11. The chook is not wild about it either ...
  12. Sounds fine. No banana fritters for you then!
  13. I doubt it -- no wine bottles in evidence ...
  14. Wednesday 10th is fine for me.
  15. That is the point about the 5 votes. The small parties rely on the fact that every vote above the line has to put all candidates in some order. If they can be everybody's second choice, then they get votes from all sorts of people who wouldn't otherwise consider them. If everyone only put 5 votes below the line, the preference whisperer and all the others wouldn't have a leg to stand on. The simplest fix is to abolish voting above the line, but I doubt that will happen. The next best things to vote for only 5 below the line. I understand what you say about the process, but complaining about having to vote is like complaining about growing old; stop whingeing, because not everyone gets the chance.
  16. The problem is the "vote above the line system", which means parties can do preference deals that end up with results like this. The solution is to vote below the line (like I do all the time), to make sure that my vote represents my preferences, not some backroom party dealer. If that means I have to number 87 boxes consecutively, then so what? If I don't take my vote seriously, then nobody else will. One welcome feature of this Victorian election is that you only had to fill in at least 5 boxes below the line in order to record a formal vote, rather than the full 37 or whatever if was. If everyone did this (ie only recorded 5 preferences) then the problem goes away.
  17. Endone, presumably. Only take it if you need it, as that stuff is really addictive, but it sounds like you have been in contact with the experts anyway ...
  18. Old habits die hard, I guess. Hopefully the nurse didn't listen ...
  19. Are you saying the Dees didn't?
  20. You got your wish, OD. I just find it rather ironic that one of the largest and most significant logistical operations in history (ie the D-Day landings) had to be postponed for a day because it was raining ... (boy that last emoticon looks disturbing ... )
  21. Don't suppose we could postpone it to tomorrow due to bad weather ...
  22. Good to see you back, jazza. Keep on keeping off the smokes!
  23. Actually, I believe I can make it then. Perhaps my priorities aren't so skewed ...
  24. I was hoping some kid said "T O M A T O B A C K W A R D S"
