  1. Benno do you know if the dees cheer squad will be sitting in the gen admin area?? Trying to decide if I should buy online before we go or just buy at the gate
  2. good to hear that a few dees supporters are making the trek. I will be heading up with a mate, flying up on the Saturday morning and back on Monday. We are also staying at Bunk in Fortitude Valley so great to hear there will be some other dees supporters there. Looking forward to having a beer with everyone!
  3. Right, so everyone here was there and saw it happen? Geeze listen to you all, judge jury and executioner and all that's happened is someone called in Triple M and said they saw this. FFS it could have been anyone, how about we wait and hear some facts first??
  4. I think they won about 5 games from memory in the VFL last year..
  5. The third quarter was an absolute disgrace. I don't disagree with comparisons with the GC game, for that quarter. It was boys against men. I reckon we probably had about two inside 50's for that entire quarter. For a club leading by 19 points at half time to concede a turnaround of 50 points in one quarter is disgusting and inexcusable, regardless of who the teams are. I hope that the players feel disgusted with their effort today because the majority of them did not deserve to be wearing the red and blue today.
  6. Hmm I suppose but don't forget our ambitious young kids two or three years ago, who got flogged by 100+ points in Round one and two at the start of the 2008 season! IMO GC are exactly where we were at the start of the 2008 season... A handful of experiences players and an abundance of kids
  7. I must say, to this point I have been backing Watts in 100%, with the whole "he needs time, he needs to build a body, and the results will come" mindset..but I must admit for the first time since we recruited him, I am starting to have serious doubts about whether he will ever be more than just an average AFL player. My biggest concerns are 1. He cannot seem to hold a tackle for the life of him and; 2. He cannot seem to go in hard at a contest or put his body on the line to get the hard ball! Going hard at the footy is not something you need to put on muscle to do, it's an instinct. Look at Scully. I hope that I am mistaken here but whilst I agree he is making improvements, they are minimal and I just can't see him developing into a superstar....
  8. Agree that was a great report, many thanks for the opinions on the individual players as well. Great to hear Petterd getting back into the goals, and it will be fantastic if he carries that form into Round 1. Also stoked to hear about Gawn, it sounds like he has massive potential and will be very handy for us in years to come. Also good to hear Wona getting back into it and I would love to see him in the side if only for his forward pressure. I am hoping that Tapscott gets a run early in the season, I have not seen him play but from all accounts he is going to be more than handy for us. I think the best thing to come out of this is the competition for spots in the side it creates. Again thanks for the great report.
  9. Just read about the Swans v St Kilda practice match. Swans had a big win, 31 points and that was with the majority of their best backmen out (Craig Bolton, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Tadgh Kennelly and Nick Malceski). Goodes kicked 4 as well. There is a lot of expectation for us to get up in Round 1 but it's going to take a massive effort from the boys, the Swans are not to be underestimated!!
  10. Woo hoo someone was actually at the game!! The one comment I will take anything from about this game, as none of the rest of us actually watched it!!
  11. This would no doubt be my complete explanation if I was at the game..haha Well now we can all stop talking about the pre-season and come Round 1 if there's not a big win, start getting upset then!!!
  12. Sounds like a disappointing second half after a solid first half. We seem to switch on and off a lot
  13. Sounds like Maric has just found another level this pre-season! Lets hope he continues into the season!!
  14. Thanks Scooter, I will check it out. Can't wait for the trip to Brissie but I kind of wish we were playing at the new stadium on the Gold Coast. And Thomo that's what I've heard, I havent been to Darwin in years but looking to make the most of it by going up on the train through Alice Springs!!! Cheers guys
  15. I am wondering who else out there is planning to travel to one or more of Melbourne's interstate games this season? Me and a few mates made our first interstate trip to the Round 21 game against Port last year, and loved it. We have already booked a few trips for this year. We will be heading to the Gabba in April for the game against the Gold Coast, and also making the trek to Darwin for the game against Port. Did anyone go to the game in Darwin last year? I had a friend go to the Bulldogs game up there and said the atmosphere was fantastic, due to the fact they are so starved of AFL up there - they love every moment of it! Also, does anyone know if you can organise tickets through the club to away games to sit in a Dees supporter area or anything like that? Would prefer not to just book through ticketmaster as could end up sitting anywhere...
  16. I have just upgraded my membership to the Redlegs membership this season after 11 seasons on a regular membership....thought no better time than now to make the bigger commitment to the club...so I will be sitting in the Redlegs reserved area also some weeks and more than keen for a beer or several!!! What are the room that Redlegs supporters get access to after the games?
  17. 1. The Filth 2. Hawthorn 3. St Kilda 4. Western Bulldogs 5. Geelong 6. Carlton 7. Sydney 8. Adelaide 9. Kangaroos 10. Fremantle 11. Melbourne 12. Richmond 13. Essendon 14. Gold Coast 15. Port Adelaide 16. West Coast 17. Brisbane
  18. hmmm im not sure what to think about this....could go either way for the dees. Fingers crossed he is a good influence on our younger players but im not holding my breath
  19. just joined the third league..... jurrah FC!!!! B)
  20. Completely agree. So much potential but just so frustrating to watch!!!
  21. I saw Wona in the crowd, he was sitting just around from the dees cheer squad. Not sure if he has an injury or is just being rested?
  22. apart from all the obvious issues he has, has anybody noticed that he is a lazy player on the field as well? never makes a good second effort, and is often seen looking disgruntled at his teammates when the delivery is not what he expects. Not a team player in any way, no thanks!!!
